Job Description Sets up and operates Groover and/or Beveler machine(s). May use tape measure. Keeps area clean. May perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Receives punched, Laser-cut, or -bend and weld- rings from Material Handler or Punch Press Set-up Person.
Sets up and operates Groover machine to cut I.D. groove in needed guide rings in accordance with established specifications. To set up machine Visually inspects grooved rings to assure material conformity, correct quantities and correct dimensions and quality. Sets up and operates Beveler machine to cut O.D. bevel on needed inner rings in accordance with established specifications.
Visually inspects beveled rings to assure conformity and quality. Stores grooved/beveled rings in storage bin. Removes metal shavings from machine as needed.
Reports needed machine repairs to supervisor. Must have clear understanding and practice all safety rules and regulations. Must have clear understanding of Quality Policy and Quality System Programs Maintains a clean workstation.

Experienced Spiral Bevel Tooth Cutter for 2nd shift position with a background in manufacturing Aerospace quality parts.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
Minimum 3 years’ experience face cutting bevel gears, single or continuous indexing methods
Demonstrated ability to perform independent setups, preferably on Gleason CNC or manual generators, from basic summary documentation
Demonstrated ability to block testers to Backlash (B/L) and Mounting Distance (M.D.) specifications
Experience pulling tapes from masters and evaluating pattern requirements
Ability to perform and interpret quality checks using precision measuring equipment for index, surface finish, depth of cut, and form requirements
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, with excellent grasp of GD & T
Good oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Strong problem solving skills
Experience in Job shop environment a plus (high mix / low volume = lots of setups)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Confidently set up and operate both manual and CNC tooth cutting machines, preferably Gleason
Ensuring efficiency and quality in the cutting process
Troubleshoot production problems when they occur
Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are followed in all aspects of work
Perform in process and first piece quality checks as required by operational sketches and standard operating procedures
Accurate labor and data reporting
Actively practice a culture of 5S
