What You'll Do: As a Large Property Loss Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling primarily large property losses. You must investigate the cause of the loss, interpret the policy, and determine whether the loss is covered and if Farm Bureau should pay the claim. You will also determine the value of the loss and assist in setting reasonable reserves. As a Large Property Loss Adjuster, you must keep a service-oriented attitude at all times by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, claimants, policyholders, engineers, restoration specialists, general contractors, attorneys, and others. You will handle severe losses in all of central and western Nebraska, as well as other losses within your assigned territory in central Nebraska. The ideal candidate will be located in Kearney, NE.
What It Takes to Join Our Team:
College degree or equivalent plus at five years relevant experience required. Must have in-depth property claims handling experience including interpersonal and technical skills. AIC, CPCU, LPCS and/or PCLS designations preferred.

Under general supervision the Building Inspector position inspects and implements codes and ordinances adopted by the city including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural, energy, irrigation and pool projects.
Examples of Duties
Performs residential inspections by educating builders and contractors about inspection processes; handles stressful situations in a professional manner; ensures integrity of products to the end user; adjusts schedules for home owners and contractors; ensures proper licenses and permits of contractors; provides mandatory inspection on replacements.
Performs residential and commercial irrigation inspection by meeting contractors on site; plans reviews and educates constructors on inspecting process; answers field calls and questions.
Maintains knowledge of current codes and ordinances by communicating with other inspectors regarding applications and enforcement of requirements in the field; provides an open atmosphere to contractors and the public; meets with suppliers & vendors regarding new products.

Responsibilities
The incumbent serves as a Principal Inspector (Operations) General Aviation/Part 135 in the General Aviation Unit. Functions as the primary operation interface between assigned air carriers/air operators/air agencies/airmen/designees and the Federal Aviation Administration. Has program responsibility to assure that assigned organizations meet Federal Aviation Regulations with respect to operations programs. Determines the need for, and then establishes work programs for surveillance and inspection of assigned organization within manpower and budget limitations to assure adherence to the applicable regulations.
Assures on a continuing basis that assigned organizations are properly and adequately organized, staffed, and equipped; have and conduct an adequate training program, including an acceptable record keeping system; and have facilities and procedures that meet all regulatory requirements. Chairs joint FAA-industry meetings; maintains regular contact with organizations assigned; and coordinates with top management officials. Requires or directs correction of any deficiencies/discrepancies and refuses or withdraws approval if they cannot be resolved.
Is responsible for the conduct of enforcement investigations and preparation of final reports and recommendations on disposition. Performs or supervises the emergency suspension of certificates or cancellations of operations specifications. Conducts or directs the reexamination of certificated airmen or recertification of an operator or agency.
Conducts investigations of public complaints, congressional inquiries and aircraft incidents and accidents. Provides verbal and/or written technical assistance to legal counsel, testifies at court trials and formal hearings, and gives depositions.
Coordinates Minimum Equipment List (MEL) approvals with the principal airworthiness inspectors. Takes enforcement action in instances of noncompliance with the MEL.
Coordinates with geographic inspectors for the accomplishment of nonroutine air carrier surveillance.
Approves/accepts or disapproves/rejects manuals, school curriculum, and revisions to such. May require amendments to previously approved documents to accomplish the following: correct any conflict with regulatory requirements; eliminate unsafe practices; and/or improve the specificity of instruction.
Evaluates training programs to insure that they meet the requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
Approves or disapproves these training programs including flight simulators, training devices, or other such

Approves the original issuance of operations specifications and issues original operating certificates. Approves amendments to operations specifications. Evaluates the safety of proposed changes in route or airport authorizations; prescribes any changes required before approval.
Directs or participates in proving flight evaluations to determine compliance with FARs. Recommends changes that will be required prior to approval.
Is responsible for monitoring all phases of operations including: training programs and records; base and station facilities; and route systems. Coordinates with and reviews reports from geographic inspectors and others to identify trends which indicate deterioration in the safety of operations. Directs or suggests changes required to correct such trends.

Possession of Airline Transport Pilot Certificate or Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument airplane rating.
Minimum of 100 flight hours within the last 3 years.
Minimum of 1,500 total flight hours.

- Analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild and maintain power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.
- Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee all concrete testing on required mix designs (Air, Slump Temp, Unit Weight, Cylinders, etc…) and ensure they are properly documented and reported.
Record and maintain cylinder break records in accordance to quality control manual, PCI, and NPCA requirements
Inspect raw materials and fresh concrete while batching and after testing to confirm concrete qualities meet the finished product specifications and the Plant Manager's expectations
Insure proper mix designs are programmed and used for each product type.
Take corrective action with concrete mix design, production equipment settings or other processes as approved by Plant Manager to ensure finished product will meet specifications
Operate and maintain all quality equipment according to manuals and as instructed by the Plant Manager
Maintain documentation verifying that production and testing equipment has been properly and accurately calibrated in accordance with local standards.
Perform periodic inspections of incoming raw material
Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections on all products
Perform random inspections of loads leaving plant to meet accuracy and quality criteria.
Hold monthly quality control training meetings and maintain personnel training records.
Work closely with Batch Plant Operator, Lead Men and crews.

Specialized Certifications: Within the six months of employment, incumbents newly hired at either level of this alternately staffed classification must successfully complete required training and receive the following certifications: Certificate of Completion as a "California Underground Storage Tank Inspector" as defined in 23 CCR, Section 2715, Subsection (j), (1) and (2); and Certificate of Completion (P.C. 832) for a course in arrest, search and seizure issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. Within the one year probationary period, individuals newly hired at either level of this alternately staff classification must also obtain State Certification as a Hazardous Materials Specialist.
Citizenship Requirement: Permanent resident aliens who wish to be employed as peace officers must apply for citizenship at least one year before application for such employment. If a permanent resident alien has not obtained citizenship within three years after application for employment or is denied citizenship he or she shall be disqualified for peace officer status.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Academic course work which directly relates to the knowledge and abilities listed.
Normally, this course work would include fire science, fire administration, hazardous materials and waste, chemistry, physical science, environmental studies and/or related courses. These courses may also include Fire Prevention 1A, 1B, and 1C, Fire Investigation 1A and 1B, or equivalent courses. Graduation from a four year college or university with a major in environmental health, biology or other physical science, chemistry or a field related to the work is highly desirable.
Experience: Any combination of training and experience which would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed.
Normally two years of fire suppression or prevention experience, which includes at least one year of experience in fire prevention, inspection, investigation, or conducting environmental compliance inspections would provide such opportunity.
License: Possession of the appropriate valid driver's license required by the State of California to perform the duties of the position.
Specialized Certifications: Within the six months of employment, incumbents newly hired at either level of this alternately staffed classification must successfully complete required training and receive the following certifications:
Certificate of Completion as a "California Underground Storage Tank Inspector" as defined in 23 CCR, Section 2715, Subsection (j), (1) and (2); and Certificate of Completion (P.C. 832) for a course in arrest, search and seizure issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. Within the one year probationary period, individuals newly hired at either level of this alternately staff classification must also obtain State Certification as a Hazardous Materials Specialist.
Citizenship Requirement: Permanent resident aliens who wish to be employed as peace officers must apply for citizenship at least one year before application for such employment. If a permanent resident alien has not obtained citizenship within three years after application for employment or is denied citizenship he or she shall be disqualified for peace officer status.
Background Requirement: Incumbents shall not have been convicted of a felony in this state or any other state or in any federal jurisdiction, or of any offense in any other state or in any federal jurisdiction, or of any offense in any other state or in any federal jurisdiction, which would have been a felony if committed in this state, nor be under current formal probation supervision.

Retirement Eligibility: Candidates in this class series are eligible for Public Safety Retirement which is defined by the County Employees' Retirement System.

Inspects and test materials received and products manufactured for/by Weatherford Manufacturing (WM) according to drawings and specifications under the guidelines of the WM Quality System and/or customer specifications.
