Position Title: Finishing QC Inspector
Reports To: Production Shift Supervisor
The Finishing Inspector is responsible for the inspection and editing of converted press product using a slitter / rewinder, finishing it into the correct format as dictated by customer specifications. The Finishing Inspector is responsible for meeting customer requirements while conforming to company standards for quality and job parameters.
Inspects printed products to assess and evaluate quality conformance to specifications.
Discards or rejects defective product that does not conform to requirements for print quality or product functionality.
Operates finishing equipment at required speed to ensure proper slitting, alignment, and roll profile.
Examines job orders to determine details such as finished quantities, production times, packaging specifications, and shipping requirements.
Notifies supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
Loads, positions, and adjusts master press rolls on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeding mechanisms.
Moves printed materials using lifts and transports them to storage or finishing areas.
Pushes buttons or moves controls and levers to start and control finishing equipment.
Monitors finishing equipment in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions; make any necessary adjustments.
Maintains, or adjusts equipment using proper preventive maintenance techniques.
Records finishing data specific to product quantities, copy position, packaging, and shipping requirements using the appropriate quality control forms.
Responsible for verifying critical quality conformance to proper line clearance and product segregation processes.
Ensures the work conducted within the production area is performed in a safe and efficient manner. Any unsafe work conditions are addressed immediately.
Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company's internal audit program.
Maintains daily time and materials usage reports by entering information into the computer print management system.
Individual must be able to monitor processes, materials and equipment.
Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Finishing Technician - 1St Shift (Tes)
The Finishing Technician is primarily responsible for daily production flow in the finishing area, including our automated blast and mark systems. This requires a general and detailed understanding of each within the finishing area.

Position Specific Responsibilities
Understands and performs finishing process from a production level following required work instructions in every area of the process. This includes set-up and movement of parts through automated bead blast marking, and rust protect processes.
Performs preventive maintenance and diagnostics on equipment and process as required. Keeps required maintenance logs up to date.
Reports all deviations in proper equipment performance to employee's direct supervisor, other shop supervisor, and/or Machine Maintenance personnel (when warranted).
Advises and consults with direct supervisor, and/or shop supervisor as applicable, for tools and tooling needed to complete projects.
Maintains set-ups for use in specified projects as assigned by direct supervisor in conjunction with other shop supervisor when applicable.
Supports and maintains overall shop efficiency by keeping work areas clean and safe.
Cooperates and coordinates with other personnel for usage of shared shop equipment.
Inspects and documents all operations per TES procedures as stated in the Quality Manual as well as per specifications of the project manager and direct supervisor.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
Experience running chemical process equipment.
Good math skills.
Basic understanding of MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Attention to detail and follow through.
Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time while performing duties.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate manual and/or automated trim presses as required.
Prepare trim solution and drain and refill solution tanks as needed.
Inspect webbing and/or product samples for defects.
Process trimmed product through the canister unit for washing and drying and/or special treatments (silicone, chlorination, etc.).
Process items through the inspection belt, sorter or tilt processes as directed.
Prepare molded product for the autoclave process.
Set up pack scales for weighing & packing of finished product and prepare carton labels for boxing/shipping.
Collect and prepare samples for QA final inspection.
Seal and label cartons and stack sealed boxes on pallets for shipping.
Prepare and maintain all required paperwork; including work routers, line clearances, control charts autoclave logs, batch labels, etc.
Assist with initial familiarization, training, development and education of new employees.
Follow all area, site and/or corporate policies, practices, procedures, S.O.I.'s and safety regulations.
Maintain equipment and the work area in a neat and orderly fashion.

Finishing Operations Technician
The basic function of Finishing Operations Technician is to mix, prepare, and apply paint, ink or other coating agents to products or materials to enhance and/or provide corrosion resistance per manufacturing requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine prepping /deprepping. Mix paints and inks with proper thinner solution to obtain correct consistency for application. Apply paint in accordance with product requirements. Mask parts and clean parts. Select holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials for proper application of paints. Verify finished parts meet specifications and blueprints using measuring devices.
Attention to detail and being able to accomplish quality work in a fast paced environment is a must! Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. High School Diploma or GED is required.

Position Level (PL) commensurate with experience

What You Will Be Doing
Perform accurate and detailed takeoffs from civil, architectural, and landscape drawings through the use of computerized estimating and digitizing software.
Apply conceptual and working knowledge of contract schedule of values, schedule of durations, ability to prepare and review job cost reports and percentage sheets.
Formalize and maintain the construction budget and accurately track all budget changes, and prepare budget reconciliations.
Build and maintain the project schedule, identify and resolve problems.
Identify potential subcontractors and vendors for use on the project and send out initial bid invitation letters and prequalification notices.
Compile bidders list for review and approval.
Negotiate subcontract change orders, inputs and managers project budget, and ensure that required documentation is filed.
Responsible for maintaining Sterling’s OSHA program requirements on all their jobsites, and enforcing safety standards and reporting requirements.

What You Need for this Position
EDUCATION: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1-2 projects completed and hands on field superintendent experience with slab on grade/wood framed construction to include major site development, minimum 2 years multifamily construction, and minimum of 5 years as a buyer in support of construction projects in excess of $5 million.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent mathematical skills. Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Windows environment and working knowledge with spreadsheets and electronic scheduling is required. Regular travel ability required.
PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able bend, stoop, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs & ladder, to reach, lift, pull, push, balance, crouch, crawl, kneel and lift or carry weight up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards, extreme cold for more than 1 hour at a time, extreme heat for more than 1 hour at a time. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
