The Finishing Inspector is responsible for the inspection and editing of printed labels using a slitter / rewinder, finishing it into the correct format as requested by customers.
Inspects printed products to assess and evaluate quality conformance to specifications.
Discards or rejects defective product that does not conform to requirements for print quality or product functionality.
Operates finishing equipment at required speed to ensure proper slitting, alignment, and roll profile.
Examines job orders to determine details such as finished quantities, production times, packaging specifications, and shipping requirements.
Notifies supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
Loads, positions, and adjusts master press rolls on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeding mechanisms.
Moves printed materials using lifts and transports them to storage or finishing areas.
Pushes buttons or moves controls and levers to start and control finishing equipment.
Monitors finishing equipment in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions; make any necessary adjustments.
Maintains, or adjusts equipment using proper preventive maintenance techniques.
Records finishing data specific to product quantities, copy position, packaging, and shipping requirements using the appropriate quality control forms.
Responsible for verifying critical quality conformance to proper line clearance and product segregation processes.
Ensures the work conducted within the production area is performed in a safe and efficient manner. Any unsafe work conditions are addressed immediately.
Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company's internal audit program.
Maintains daily time and materials usage reports by entering information into the computer print management system.
Individual must be able to monitor processes, materials and equipment.
Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Finishing Inspector - Entry Level

Essential Functions of this position include:
- Prepare for Operation
- Assist Operator with checking order documentation and communicating order information and additional instructions to support staff to prepare for order production. Assist Operator and learn to independently establish the most efficient manner to run product through assigned machine to produce expected quality and quantity. Assist in make ready process for production by setting up machine components to create products in line with customer specifications at Operator's direction.
- Learn to Operate Gluer Machine
- Learn to operate assigned equipment in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed. Perform routine adjustments as needed and directed by Operator.
- Perform Maintenance
- Assist Operator and learn to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment during shift.
- Perform Quality Checks
- Complete quality checklist(s) and perform quality checks of product throughout to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform Line Clearance
- Clean assigned area by removing all product from line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with a completed order.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old
Shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work overtime is required. Shift schedules may vary depending on work load. No shifts are guaranteed.

- Hands on operational and maintenance knowledge of a wide variety of finishing equipment including; pumps and spray sets, spray booths, filtering systems, and mixing equipment (HVLP, conventional spray and powder coat equipment)
- Hands on experience in surface preparation – filling, sanding, priming, spraying, and associated repair processes
- Hands on knowledge of a wide variety of finishing materials including; lacquers, metallic powders, thinners, polyurethane, polyesters and other catalyzed finishes
- In depth knowledge of mixing processes, incoming material testing, and testing of finished products and materials
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and best practices, as they relate to the overall safety in a painting and coating environment – VOC levels, PPE, and filtration maintenance, including disposal methods and understanding of hazards.

Shell Finishing Processor - Lpc-S/024
To deliver the highest quality shell to Casting on time by grinding, dewax, plugging, cleaning, inspecting, insulating and repairing ceramic molds.
Objective:to prepare molds for dewax, deplasticize, flash fire and casting operations.
Essential Job Functions:
A.Grinds mold edges, vents, thermal-coupling tubes, pins and open cups to allow removal of wax per specifications.
B.Assures proper drying time between sealer dip and grinding.
C.Maintains lot integrity.
D.Takes shell weights as required.
E.Cleans handles and/or frames of excess shell materials.
F.Breaks down framed product by removing skirts, nuts, washers and shell material as needed.
G.Removes and cleans plastic band from mold platter (LPCS and LPCT only); pulls string for shell removal as needed. (SSBO only)
H.Loads dewax carts according to specifications.
Objective: to remove wax from molds of water wash machine and/or high pressure steam autoclave.

3.Flash Fire Furnace

Objective:to remove wax and plastic using flash fire furnace.

A.Starts and shuts down furnace, monitor operating controls.
B.Loads furnace, which operates at 1900 degrees Fahrenheit.
C.Maintains lot integrity.
D.Inspects load after furnace operation.
E.Completes logs and records.
Objective:to inspect and repair shells prior to shipment to casting.

A.Inspects shell for cracks and defects with a variety of hand inspection tools. LPCT only

- Final Preparation
Objective:to attach insulating material to shell as required.

A.Cuts, wires or uses mud to attach insulating material to shell as required.
B.Inspect shells for defects, including storage damage.
C.Marks part and lot number on shell.
D.Verifies lot integrity.
E.Rolls insulated parts over to upright position for final processing.
F.Places thermal-couples into mold as directed. (LPCS only)
G.Places part on special framing fixtures (LPCS only); transports to casting.
H.Assists engineers with template design and modifications of insulating material. (Marginal job function at SSBO)
6.Maintains and completes all logs and records; assures shell ID matches paperwork during each process step and transportation.
A. Cleans work area which may include grinding room sump.
8.Meets all production and quality standards.
Objective:to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

The Finish Tech will provide technical expertise and assist leadership in developing, facilitating, implementing, and troubleshooting process within the Paint Department processes.
