Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Quality Control and Reliability Teams ensure product and / or product components comply with specifications and quality standards. They test and inspect products against performance and integrity criteria to ensure product quality and reliability, and to determine the suitability of product release.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for executing a variety of activities concerned with the inspection of raw material and products, investigation of nonconformance and assistance with supervision of inspectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts inspection activities to ensure the quality of products and raw materials used to manufacture product meet customer or internal standards.
Interacts with Manufacturing Supervisors and Leads concerning nonconforming product and raw material issues that require resolution.
Assistance with the training and supervision of personnel who conduct incoming and final inspections. This involves monitoring their performance to ensure proper fit to job requirements.
Provide input for inspector yearly reviews.
Monitor production operators for adherence to quality requirements. Interact with leads and supervisors to ensure operators are following requirements.

Inspector IV(Job Description)This position is posted for the Beaumont/Silsbee area and all surrounding counties; the headquarters assignment can be changed at any time to accommodate the mission and goals of the Meat Safety Assurance Unit. * *Under the direct supervision of the Meat Safety Assurance (MSA) Circuit Manager and the general management of the MSA Unit Manager, performs complex inspections, investigations, and quality assurance reviews at establishments with a State grant (permit/license) to perform livestock slaughter and/or meat/poultry processing operations to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws, rules/regulations, and agency policies. Evaluates and reviews establishment procedures and implementation and prepares and distributes reports and correspondence dealing with the results.
Through the Federal/State cooperative inspection program, carries out the functions as herein described in establishments with a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) grant (permit/license) but with MSA staffing. Safe operation of either a state owned vehicle or personal vehicle is required to conduct state business and an acceptable driving record must be maintained in accordance with DSHS Policy OS-3901, Fleet Operations and Management & Procedures and standards developed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. What we look for
Required
5-10 years documented experience in sprinkler systems.
NICET Level II Certification

Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.

SUMMARY

Sample and test incoming components and raw materials; tracks results.

Minimizes down time by reducing production rework and recalls.

Building Inspector IV (Fixed-Term)
Description
Under direction, inspects Type I and Type V multi-use buildings and structures in all stages of construction for compliance with governing laws, local ordinances, and adopted state and model codes and standards. Takes appropriate action to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances and laws.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal and technical skills with a well-rounded working knowledge of the applicable codes, ordinances and current construction methods and materials applicable to three and four-story, mixed-use projects, including Type I and Type V construction, as well as understanding of inspections for mechanical, electrical and plumbing system installations. The candidate will be a team player and possess good problem-solving skills and have the ability to work without close supervision. The candidate will also possess the ability to work effectively with a diverse customer base including professional contractors, designers, other Building and Safety staff, and the general public. Also, the candidate will have experience reading and following construction drawings. The candidate must have the ability to quickly learn and use the County's computerized permit/inspection tracking systems. The candidate will also have strong organizational skills and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
A Building Inspector IV is assigned to inspect the more complex types of structures and are expected to effectively resolve difficult problems associated with inspection, interpretation of codes, and preparation of reports, and effectively and efficiently organize, schedule and conduct inspections on large projects. Building Inspector IV differs from Building Inspector III in that the former is assigned to supervise and/or perform specialist functions. The position differs from Manager-Resource Management Agency Services in that the latter has management responsibility for a district office.
Incumbents may be eligible for an educational incentive of either 2.5%, 3.5% or 5% based on completion of an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree that is not required for the classification. Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentive depending upon operational need and certification skill.
Examples Of Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs inspections of complex buildings and structures, including structural, fire and life safety systems, as well as, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems for non-residential, large residential and mixed-use projects.
Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
Completes inspection results and related record keeping for projects to ensure adequate inspection history is tracked and maintained in an organized manner.
Establishes and maintains positive and productive professional relationships with customers and with other Building and Safety staff over the course of a long-term project.
Completes and maintains accurate inspection paperwork records and notes in a computerized application.
Reads, interprets and follows construction drawings and performs related inspections for the various trades associated with multi-structure projects.
Acts as a lead inspector on large, important, and time-sensitive projects. May be assigned as a lead inspector to a single site on a designated project.
Provides inspection support for inspection supervisors on application of inspection methods and as they relate to large and complex projects.
Provides updates to management and supervision staff on the progress of assigned projects.
Other related duties as required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
Progressively responsible work experience, education and/or training in building construction and/or inspection which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge and abilities. The required knowledge and abilities also can be obtained by at least five (5) years of experience as an inspector in the major construction trades, including one year working for or with a governmental agency.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver license.
Certification: Must possess an ICC (International Code Council) Commercial Combination Inspector certificate. Other job-related certifications pertinent to the position may be accepted, subject to approval of Human Resources Department.
All employees in this classification are subject to the provisions of Health & Safety Code 18949.25 et seq. which mandates certification and continuing education. The certification will be from a recognized state, national or international association as determined by the local agency (County of Ventura, Resource Management Agency). All employees in this classification "shall complete a minimum of 45 hours of continuing education for every (3) year period with at least (8) hours regarding disability access requirements with providers determined by the local agency (County of Ventura, Resource Management Agency)."

This position performs regulatory work by monitoring and investigating child care facilities in accordance with the Human Resources Code, Texas Administrative Code, Minimum Standards, and Licensing Policy and Procedures Handbook.
