Position Summary
Performs inspection activities, to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or models.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs inspection activities, to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or models
Inspects products, components, subassemblies, and/or systems to ensure conformance to requirements
Creates organizational value by implementing innovative solutions and best practices involved in all processes of the product realization value stream
Assists Quality Engineers with identifying nonconforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level of assembly
Assists Quality Engineers prepare inspection plans and checklists for inspection
Assist Quality Engineers with data collection and root cause analysis investigations
Generate discrepancy notices and initiate Material Review Board actions
Perform material movement transactions after completing inspection process
May specialize in receiving inspection, in-process inspection, process verification/auditing, final inspection, etc
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Secondary Accountabilities
- Ability to effectively interpret data and present as information and respond to questions from engineers and other technical staff
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
In-depth knowledge of relevant manufacturing standards (such as J-Std-001/IPC-A-610) or common mechanical techniques (such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices)
Ability to use various measurement devices (calipers, pin gauges, go/no-go gauges, etc) to verify mechanical part compliance
Experience reading mechanical drawings and able to verify parts dimensions against drawing requirements
Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Optical comparator or other complex inspection systems is desired

Primary Responsibilities:
Performs visual and dimensional inspection checks on incoming material and on components from suppliers using electro/mechanical measuring instruments and sampling plans.
Performs in-process and final inspections on components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
Performs First Article Inspections per AS9102.
Reviews build data documentation and data sheets for compliance and acceptability.
Works from operating instructions, inspection checklists, pictorials and other written instructions to inspect standard parts produced by suppliers.
Performs routine and generally repetitive visual and dimensional inspection operations on a variety of mechanical assembly components, standard machined parts, electrical and electronic components and assemblies, potted assemblies to meet specifications.
Use microscope, verniers, caliper, dial indicator, fixed gauges, ohmmeters, microampere and ordinary holding devices and other standard inspection equipment to verify manufactured part meets dimensional widths, lengths, depths, height, hole size and electrical requirements.
Inspect parts for nicks, scratches, cracks, burns, dents, sharp edges, rust corrosion and other surface irregularities.
Prepare all necessary inspection reports and other reports as required.
Generate Quality Notifications (QNs) in SAP.
Refers questionable matters to the supervisor or quality engineer for guidance.
Will support ACE events and Quality Clinic initiatives for the advancement of quality.
Qualification:
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
Ability to perform math calculations in decimals and fractions.
Work from written instructions and supervisory direction.
Read and have practical knowledge of blueprints.
Complete written records appropriate to the job and use SAP for quality notifications and inspection results.
Work with small components.
Show previous experience which provides a general knowledge of basic mechanical and/or electrical measurement techniques.
Will be IPC610 and JSTD001 certified. Meet vision requirements of the job.
Eye exam per Snellen 14/18, Jaeger 2 at not less than 12 inches.
Highest compliance to UTAS Cardinal rules for EH&S and Quality Use microscope for extended periods.
Use measurement instruments, gauges, and fixtures.
Ability to use computer programs such as SAP, Global Learning Portal, and Microsoft Outlook.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for receiving new materials from suppliers, verifying the accuracy of product to the drawings
Manage the location of material, pull and stage material to be transported into the shop on all shifts
Be able to take instruction and execute with little supervision

Inspector - Receiving Trainee
IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.
Inspect raw, partly processed, and finished parts and materials, accessories and assemblies received from suppliers to determine that workmanship, dimensions and operations are in conformance to applicable specifications and requirements.
Make percentage or 100% inspection of vendor supplied items of metal, wood, glass,rubber, plastic, and other substances for workmanship dimensions, materials, physicaland mechanical operations in accordance with released blueprints, specifications,engineering data, and procurement data sheets.
Inspect standard vendor-designed purchased parts when standard fixed gauges, templates, check fixtures, etc., are available for checking. May use such checking or measuring devices as surface plates, parallels, height gauges, inside, outside or tubing micrometers, verniers, etc. for measuring devices and materials such as sheet stock, tubing, angle stock and blocks.
Stamp or otherwise approve acceptable parts and materials and prepare or process paperwork as required.
Reject unacceptable parts and prepare documentation for disposition of such items.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to read and follow instructions; ability to read basic blueprints of 3 dimensional parts; ability to use shop math and satisfactory completion of a 50-hour course of study in Inspection Principles and Techniques, including use of standard measuring instruments.

Who You AreThe Spaceship Company in Mojave CA has an open position for a Receiving Inspector. The Receiving Inspector evaluates a variety of products such as PWB's, connectors, electrical components, and standard fabricated parts for conformance against engineering drawings, workmanship standards, Source Control drawings, specification drawings.
Your Mission
Perform continuous, repetitive visual inspection involving gages or visual attributes against standards.
Perform mechanical inspections using SME (Standard Measuring Equipment) and other mechanical gages per inspection processes.
Generally pick up and visually inspect piece parts by using various attribute gages.
Maintain piece counts and accurately document the results of the inspection and testing.
Perform functional tests; includes compression, extension test, and any test needed for production.
Inspect parts using a variety of gages and equipment as stand-alone and/or through set-ups.
Use automated test equipment
Review certification/conformance package against the requirements and identify nonconforming areas and report discrepancies; understanding of full traceability required.
Knowledge of TIPQA System, or ability to be trained to use the TipQA system (Preferred experience)
Perform review of device history records and other documentation for compliance to established procedures and good document practices.
Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely manner.
Perform First Article Inspections
Verify product compliance of standard fabricated parts, such as pins, terminals, standoffs, nuts, bolts, screws, washers and sleeves for proper dimensions, finish, corrosion, damage or other similar conditions using calipers, thread gages, micro-hite, and other appropriate measuring instruments or similar complexity.
Review all paperwork required by the Purchase Order/receipt traveler for completeness and accuracy, including Certificate of Compliance meets all of the required specification requirements.
Review any rejection reports on previously received parts/materials. Note discrepancies, stated causes, and corrective action. Use this information to indicate possible problem areas.
Ensure Supplier is approved for the type of product being received per the Supplier Type List.
Write Non-conformance Reports if parts are rejected and elevate to Preliminary Review board or Material Review board when necessary.
Able to interpret drawings and part specifications
What you bring
Knowledge of AS9100 and other relevant aerospace industry standards.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace, or equivalent education and experience. Previous inspection experience a definite plus.
Ability to work with Microsoft tools, CATIA, 2D and 3D drawings or computer generated models or other similar types of engineering data.
Basic math and technical writing skills.Proven hands-on inspection experience in the aerospace industry using a variety of precision measurement tools.
GD&T comprehension through experience and/or formal training.
In depth understanding of the inspection techniques and quality issues associated with composites.
Attention to detail and follow through.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel.
Specific vision abilities (corrected or uncorrected) required for this job include color perception, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds (unassisted).
Must be a "U.S. person" as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Receiving Inspector 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dallas, TX.
The selected candidate inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements. Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.

Quality Control Receiving Inspector - Dimensional
Perform receiving inspection on a variety of fabricated, machined, purchased, components, subassemblies or finished products using standard and appropriate measuring tools, instruments and equipment
Perform inspection on Fabricated and Machined parts and products, Breakers, Inductors, Transformers, ACs, MCCs (Motor Control Centers) against Engineering General Arrangement Drawings (GADs) etc..
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their capability to effectively use inspection measuring equipment (various Micrometers, Calipers, threaded gages, gage, etc.) with basic knowledge in GD&T (symbols), inspection techniques and complete inspection documentations.
Identify, segregate and document non-conforming findings by assigning or issuing Non-Conformance Report (NCR) via NCR Header Process in Oracle EBS suite
Capable of interpreting drawings and procedures to verify conformance
Maintain the NCR Process in accordance with NCR Processing in Oracle EBS suite
Interface with Materials, Quality, Engineering, Suppliers in establishing quality and continuous improvement measurements
Initiate action to prevent occurrence of nonconformity and identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
Participate and lead continuous improvement efforts

The Receiving Freight & Compliance Inspector will be required to comply with the policies and procedures as defined in the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).The Receiving Freight & Compliance Inspector will work with the Receiving Freight & Compliance Lead Inspector, Supervisor and Manager to ensure timely inspection of product to facilitate systemic receiving and movement through the Distribution Center and shipment to stores. Additionally, the Receiving Freight & Compliance Inspector will verify vendor compliance with standards established by the Vendor Relations department and documented in the BCF Vendor Manual. Incidents of non-compliance will be documented and appropriate fees assessed to the vendor in cooperation with the Vendor Relations department.This position requires the Inspector to work closely with both the receiving offloading staff and their management team to keep the freight moving and trucks turning over while ensuring the integrity of the shipments being processed through the facility is correct. This position will support the Vendor Relations and Inventory Control and Compliance teams in addition to DC Operations and 600 plus Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide.
Responsibilities
Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS), Vendor Compliance Management System (CMS) and proprietary iPad applications to perform receiving and compliance inspections
Perform sample inspections of inbound freight to verify the freight can be received by the WMS system. Results of the inspection will determine downstream processes required by operations, directly impacting labor expense, needed to ready product for DC handling and store distribution. The inspection requires detailed knowledge of SKU information, Bulk vs. Prepack, Order vs. Allocations, ASN's (Advanced Shipping Notices), PO's, Line Changes, pricing and ticket requirements
Perform sample inspections of inbound freight to verify compliance and identify areas of non-compliance, based on the requirements established by the BCF Vendor Manual. Results of the inspection will be documented, and supported by images, in the CMS system and directly impact the determination of chargeback fees assessed to the vendor, in cooperation with the Vendor Relations department.
Document, track and report on errors and issues of non-compliance
Identify and properly disposition inbound freight related to Legal recalls (i.e. drawstring lawsuit) or is deemed inappropriate for Burlington stores.
Data entry and reporting
Ability to use RF (radio frequency) technology
Open, lift and move cartons
Ability to be flexible and crossed trained in other areas
Ability to interact with all levels of management
Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
Overtime required as needed

Education and Qualifications:
