The City of Sunnyvale is seeking qualified, creative, responsible individuals interested in working for the Community Services Division, Arts and Marketing Unit. The Arts and Marketing Unit is responsible for providing music, dance, drama and visual arts programming for the Sunnyvale community. Our public art, after school arts programming, evening art classes, and Theater programs reflect the City's strong commitment to the Arts.
Currently the Community Services Division is seeking to hire two qualified instructors in the areas of painting and drawing for youth, teens and adults. Class schedules are negotiable, however preference will be given to qualified candidates who are interested in taking over the existing Painting and Drawing class for Kids on Tuesdays, from 4:00-6:15 p.m.
Classes are ongoing throughout the year with a new session beginning every 6-8 weeks. Classes that do not meet their minimum number of participants will be canceled.
Classes meet in the Creative Arts Center at the Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 E. Remington Drive, Sunnyvale.
Essential Job Functions
Develop class curriculum

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard.
Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal customer service. The need to lift, drag and push files, paper, books and documents weighing up to 10 pounds is also required.
