JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and machining centers to fabricate metallic and parts, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, and setup requirements to determine optimal sequence of operations.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

About the Role:
Responsibilities will vary depending upon a candidate's level of experience. This position will collaborate with engineering, PD&D, manufacturing, and other team members to provide expertise in the design and production of products. This position will plan, lay out, and perform machining operations and bench work to construct, alter, and repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, attachments, machining, molds, and gauges.

SKILL SUMMARY: Requires a thorough knowledge of shop math, machine and
hand tools, measuring instruments and working properties of various metals. Employees must be thoroughly experienced in the construction, alteration or repair of all tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
Requires a high degree of ability to plan and perform work of a difficult nature where only general methods of procedure are available. Tool & Die Makers must be able to work with only general supervision.

Journeyman Tool And Die Maker
Maintenance Multi-Craft -
The individual selected for this role will be expected to properly perform all types of electrical and mechanical work throughout the facility, such as installing repairing, welding, trouble shooting, inspect, and maintain all machines electrically and mechanically. The incumbent must be able to work from electrical and mechanical blue prints, sketches, diagrams, and operating manuals. Incumbent must also be able to work any shift, including overtime and weekend work.
Repair pneumatic systems which includes, repair, or replace air valves, air cylinders, and air lines.
Repair hydraulics system which includes, repair piping, remove electric motor, and any other components to the hydraulic system.
Perform preventive maintenance procedures on building, mechanical equipment on schedule basis, inspect belts check fluids, and replace filters, grease bearings and seals.
Maintain records of scheduled maintenance and fill out work orders.
Assists with the renovation/remodeling of the building such as repairs to plaster or dry wall, painting of building, fixing of floors, repair or remove broken windows, and repair or replace doors.
Respond to emergency maintenance request as required.

Install and maintain wiring of lights inside and outside of the plant and this includes changing of light bulbs and ballast of lights.
Multi craft mechanics can inspect remove or install electrical components such as transformers, overloads, circuit breakers, prox switches, limit switches, outlets, disconnects, motors, relays, contactors, modulator motors, actuators, electric motor break, electrical valves, switch boards, fuses heaters, photo eyes, pressure switches, Honeywell controllers, thermocouples, and all other electrical components.
Must be able to uncouple, unwire, and remove all electric motors.
Must ensure that lock out tag out procedures is being used properly.
Can be asked to inventory equipment parts and electrical supplies.
Perform work to follow local and state electrical regulations based on the national electric code.
May install computer cable
They can be asked to drill holes in concrete with a hammer drill and use anchors bolts to hold down electrical equipment or machinery.
Must be able to work on, install, fix, and program robotic control systems.
Must be able to use a laptop to communicate with any plc for purposes of trouble shooting and editing the program.
Can be asked to grease electric motors.
Changes charts and fills recording pens with ink as required.

Mathematical skill required
Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.

General Description of Job:Supports product manufacturing and research and development by constructing and repairing tooling and machining special or short run parts. Tool makers build, design and repair dies, jigs, and tools. A short run machinist will fabricate small quantities of required proto-type, modified or specialty parts as required using many types of mechanical skills. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
HS diploma or GED
Associate's Degree in Toolmaking or related field is preferred.
Completion of Accredited Apprenticeship program is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in Moldmaking or mold maintenance.
Knowledge of AUTO-CAD is preferred.
Understanding of metallurgy.
Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints.
