Power And Recovery Business Unit Manager (716-291)
This position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the power boilers, chemical recovery boilers, power distribution station, turbine generators, multiple effect evaporators, lime kiln and causticizing plant, filtered water plants, and auxiliary equipment as assigned. The qualified candidate will ensure that the Power & Recovery department provides safe, efficient, precise, and quality workmanship to the Verso Wisconsin Rapids Mill.

Responsible for the development and execution of the Power & Utilities Area budget. Make recommendations for repairs and equipment to be included in department's annual budget and long term capital plans.
Assist the Pulp Business Unit Manager in strategic and developmental planning for input into the mill level planning efforts as appropriate
Ensure that the department maintains compliance for all environmental requirements and regulations. Fortify sound environmental stewardship among all department team members through awareness and training.
Continue to develop and expand personal understanding of process operations and technology, applicable state and federal environmental rules and regulations, and keep abreast of new developments and technological advancements.
Work beyond normal work schedule as necessary to fulfill position requirements.
Provide on-call and weekend duty coverage.
Actively participate in and support the MWS process at the WR Mill. Ensure the support/participation by all direct reports, and engage team members to fully utilize their knowledge, skills, and potential.
Make routine inspections of operating areas, checking progress of projects being worked on, reviewing operating logs, checking for abnormal equipment operations, optimizing work efficiency, ensuring good housekeeping, making safety observations, etc.
Participate in equipment inspections during downtimes to anticipate and assess maintenance requirements and expenditures; assist in annual safety inspections of pressure vessels as needed.
Maintain harmonious relations with team members by administering contract provisions and company policies to avoid breach of contract, to ensure conformance to work rules and regulations administering disciplinary measures when needed.
Ensure the safety and health of all personnel in area of responsibility as related to work activities. Efforts to achieve this end shall be directed to training of team members to perform their jobs safely without committing unsafe acts and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
A bachelor's degree in Pulp and paper science, chemical engineering, chemistry, power engineering or related area.
Minimum of 5 to10 years supervisory/engineering experience in kraft chemical pulping operations (wood processing, power/utilities, chemical recovery, or fiber lines). Significant consideration will be given to applicable experience in chemical recovery and power operations OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Social, leadership, and communication skills to engage key customers and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work with team members throughout an organization, excellent analytical, communication, team leadership skills, planning and priority setting and quality and timely decision making

Roll paper into loading position on automatic splicer, insert shaft of automatic splicer through roll core, secure holding chucks of automatic splicer to shaft ends, and thread paper through press components to prepare press for printing. Apply adhesive strip to backup roll and insert backup roll onto automatic splicing unit of press to prepare paper for automatic splicing. Remove roll of leftover paper from press after automatic splicing.
May operate mechanical truck to transport rolls of paper to press area. May assist with some of the make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates, examining plates, prepping and installing blankets, adjusting tension etc. Clean press and clean and install press components to maintain press in working order.
This is a 12 hour shift position, 7am-7pm. Rotating every 5 weeks from Monday- Wednesday and Thursday-Saturday alternating Sundays.

Recommend a minimum six (6) years of project and/or site management experience
Comprehensive understanding of facility management, including plant operations, maintenance, engineering, janitorial services, safety, grounds, and related services
Familiarity and knowledge of Work Order Control (WOC) procedures and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
The Tender Manager will introduce and manage all necessary bid procedures, governance, and process when presented with RFQ. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. It will require strong people management and commercial skills.
Analyzes requirements within an RFI/RFQ; manages and reviews all aspects of the solution design, ensuring all services are included in the final proposal to the customer
Distributes tasks to internal stakeholders, reviews/validates information received from the internal stakeholders
Interfaces with and manages/validates inputs from various functional groups such as IT, Legal, Finance, HR, EHS, Real estate, Business development organization, as well as with customers in creating/delivering a compelling proposal that will meet customer requirements and stand out from other bids
Responds and assists on RFI / RFQ requests ensuring timely, accurate and quality responses are delivered to the requesting parties
Ensures compliance with Tender Management process and SureStart governance
Controls the key milestones within each submission ensuring timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids
Tracks, manages and minimizes risk throughout the tender process
Creates/Compiles Requests for Quotation, utilizing quarterly review of cost model inputs from functional teams, with solution managers and commercial VPs
Maintains monthly tender data records and follows up on progress of submitted tenders
Records feedback on tenders handled in order to learn from every tender participation with the purpose of improving Neovia competitiveness
Ensures post bid analysis to be performed by bid owners for all bids, both successful and unsuccessful tenders
Other duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Logistics/Supply Chain, Engineering
1-3 years relevant experience
2-3 years' project management experience
Highly proficient in Accountability, Planning and Organizing, Communication (oral and written), Leadership, Decision Making, Teamwork, and Interpersonal Skills.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Proficient in recording detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions.
Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues
Certification as Six Sigma Black Belt; Lean Master Certifications preferred or in process
Project Management Institute, Inc. (PMI) Certification (Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred or in process
Warehouse operations experience preferred
