We are seeking an Engine Combustion Specialist to join the Fuel Technology division of Saudi Aramco's Research and Development Center.
The Fuel Technology Division conducts research and technology development in the area of transport fuels chemistry and advanced engine technologies. Our research focuses on the co-optimization of fuel and engine systems, technology demonstration in collaboration with various stakeholders, and strategic transport studies across the road, aviation, and marine sectors.
Your primary role is to conduct innovative research on engine/fuel interactions, provide guidance and technical expertise, and foster the development of talent within the organization. Minimum Requirements As the successful candidate, you will hold an advanced degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or chemical engineering from a recognized and approved program.
You will have at least 10 years of experience in fuel and combustion engine research and development.
You will have a strong understanding of underlying properties of fuels and combustion kinetics. You will be familiar with developments in engine technologies and technology trends.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong record of publications and/or patents. You will have strong research and development project management skills. You must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience of 1-D modeling (e.g., GT-power) or vehicle system modeling (e.g., Autonomie) is preferred. Duties & Responsibilities You will be required to perform the following:
Develop and execute engine test programs to understand fuel effects on engine performance and emissions under a variety of combustion modes from light duty gasoline to heavy duty diesel engine applications.
Supervise single cylinder engine test operation, conduct thorough analysis of engine test results, provide periodic progress reports, and present findings in international technical meetings.
Make decisions on necessary engine hardware and test cell configurations in support of research facility expansion plans.
Frequently communicate with Saudi Aramco's global research centers and manage external collaborative programs with partners.
Mentor and oversee development of young engineers in their area of specialty.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Inspector to provide technical support to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC). The position will be located at Naval Station, Norfolk, VA
Essential Responsibilities:
1.Assess, install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at Company and client sites.
2.Perform or coordinate test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks. Perform validations/verifications of various mechanical and electrical systems.
3.Design and write test procedures, critique system test procedures, and assist in the development of upgrades and enhancements.
4.Implement engineering change instructions.
5.Investigate system problems and provide white papers on the results of the investigation. Prepare recommendations and solutions on system problems to include alternate testing to verify change.

Minimum Requirements
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Twelve (12) years’ experience within last 25 years in the operation, repair and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion and auxiliary equipment. A minimum of six (6) of the years must have been in a position of team leader or coordinator over a subordinate work force involved in the physical maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment or systems
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years’ experience within last 10 years with diesel propulsion and auxiliary equipment at a level equivalent to the qualification of an engineering officer of the watch;
A minimum of two (2) of the years in availability planning, modernization, repair and testing of shipboard equipment and systems;
A minimum of one (1) of the years as a technical instructor or as an IMA quality assurance inspector.
The specialized experience shall demonstrate the individual’s ability to:
Work independently
Supervise technical personnel in performance of operation, maintenance, modification and repair
Provide OJT to technical personnel in operation, repair and maintenance (including us of test equipment)
Must have a current certification as a US Navy Fleet Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI), hold NEC 4312 and have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a certified DEI in accordance with NAVSEA 9220.3. If retired from active duty, must have been an inspector in good standing with NAVSEA and successfully able to regain a current certification from NAVSEA within a month of starting.
Possess a current Secret security clearance

Position Summary
The Coal Combustion Products (CCP) team provides strategic leadership to effectively beneficially reuse coal ash storage in a manner that mitigates any hazard to public health, safety, or welfare and ensures the ongoing safety of our communities and environment. The team delivers solutions that address net environmental impact and balance stakeholder interests. Specifically, the team reviews and evaluate technologies that supports or enhances CCPs for beneficial reuse, supports the development of beneficial reuse strategies, supports development and negotiations for new agreements, and implements the arrangement with the 3rd party to beneficially reuse CCPs primarily into construction products. Interns support Byproduct Marketers and Engineering Staff members who are responsible for the supporting existing and new beneficial reuse projects. Interns may also assist management with overseeing many other aspects of the beneficial reuse program (tracking volumes, supporting presentations, monitoring testing and analysis, and other compliance related activities.
Responsibilities
As part of the Coal Combustion Products (CCP) team, key duties for the Intern will include:
Assisting the Byproducts Team members to support the collaboration with station and engineering to understand operating and budgeting parameters / requirements for byproducts commercial recommendations as necessary to produce and maximize byproducts sales resulting from knowledge of operations.
Assisting the Byproducts Team members to support development and issue of byproducts and transportation Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as necessary to support and meet the stations beneficial reuse needs and plans.

Combustion Process Lead Engineer
Overview
The Combustion Process Lead Engineer will be responsible for the technical development and success of new products for a range of applications including igniters, combustors, power plant systems, process systems, pressurized fluidized bed reactors for large scale production of power, steam and hydrogen systems, industrial heat exchangers, and/or high temperature valves and components. This responsibility will continue throughout the entire process beginning with system trades, component design, fabrication, and test followed by field piloting and demonstration. In addition, the successful candidate will need to establish a seamless working relationship with disciplines and program partners/suppliers. Customers will include the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), oil, power and Industrial Gas companies and industry vendors.
The Combustion Process Lead Engineer will report to the Engineering Director of Advanced Energy Systems. The role will include product development, leadership of technical teams, review of engineering work products, engineering analysis, leading test of developed systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and interfacing with management and customers.

Review engineering work products including evaluation of meeting codes and standards for pressure vessels and piping as well as reviewing drawings, models, and analyses of products (10%).
Troubleshoot technical issues to ensure timely resolution to satisfy all company objectives. These efforts will include using failure investigation techniques and tools (20%)
Complete engineering analyses including system models and energy/mass balances (15%).
Work closely with program management and executive leadership team to effectively communicate program/project status to customers, and support business unit operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. (10%)

POSITION QUALIFICATION SUMMARY:
The Senior Design Engineer will be a member of the Praxair R&D Applications Equipment team. In this role, he or she will lead the design and implementation of oxy-fuel combustion burners and associated process equipment for new process application development and commercial technology implementation. This will require working closely with other R&D personnel as well as other organizations within Praxair and external customers.

This position plans, conducts, and supervises engineering projects with significant magnitude and scope usually involving integration among diverse systems. This position works independently to meet customer needs through creative application of engineering principles.
This position will support the current effort to make UPG residential gas furnaces the standard of the industry through testing products and components, and utilizing all aspects of design engineering including product concepts, heat exchanger design, air moving systems, and overall system design.

Senior Combustion Engineer
The Engine Development team is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Combustion Development Engineer to become part of a small fast-paced team to sort and bring new technology concepts to production. The team is part of a larger Powertrain Development organization. The Senior Combustion Development Engineer is mainly responsible for developing and testing new and existing combustion systems, collaborating with hardware and control teams, and presenting test results to management team. This challenging position combines multiple engineering disciplines including combustion, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and controls. This position also requires frequent interactions with cross-functional teams including the dyno operation team and chief engineer. The successful candidate will need to make quick logical decisions to support hardware and calibration development activities. Other responsibilities include solving complex combustion system problems as they relate to calibration development, participating in the development of standard hardware and calibration development processes, and presenting test summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of work experience in engine dyno development and/or calibration at a OEM or supplier; -or-
Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of university research experience doing engine dyno development + 7 years of experience at an OEM or supplier doing engine dyno development; -or-

JOB SUMMARY:
Position is accountable for efficient and improved combustion glass conditioning systems and
increased furnace life through proper control of fuel consumption, heating and melting temperatures.
Relieves other department supervisors as required.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Checks regularly all furnace operating conditions, including location of air within tank, location of air within tack dampers, type of furnace flame, wind in refiner areas, temperature gradients, regenerators pressures, amount of dry batch in checkers, checker erosion, amount of waste gas, slag formation, etc.
Analyze data and takes corrective action or makes recommendations to supervisor as to further action required.
Directs maintenance of various electric motors, gear reduction equipment, environmental control systems, water jackets, batch screw, feeders, etc. Take appropriate correction action.
Checks regularly the furnace melting quality. Takes bottle samples and, as required, sends to Engineering for analysis. Receives instructions from Glass Engineering relative to adjustments in batch, temperatures, etc. Also takes a daily bottle sample from each furnace, checks light transmission quality against customer standards and advises supervisor to adjust coloring.
Prepares regular and special reports, charts, and tables relative to furnace operations.
Includes daily furnace load report, which is used to establish load limits designed to properly balance maximum pull and maximum furnace life. Sets limits in conjunction with supervisor.
Responsible for assisting in department preventative maintenance and safety programs.
Makes regular inspections; receives notice of problems from other department personnel; issues necessary work orders; follows up to insure completion. .
Consults with supervisor, advises and makes recommendations to supervisor concerning methods, procedures, personnel and equipment.
Directs activities of the furnace tenders and the hot repair crew.
Communicates and directs the application of prescribed safety and environmental regulations.

Purpose of the Job
The Process Control & Combustion Engineer will report to the Area Manager Process Optimization and will be responsible for the design, development, execution, and data analysis of all furnace temperature uniformity surveys, system accuracy tests, and gas analysis. The process control & combustion engineer will provide direct supervision to the furnace operators responsible for coordinating furnace testing & results as well as provide technical guidance to the electricians performing the testing.
Primary Responsibilities
This position will provide technical leadership in the adherence to all heat treat specifications and BENTELER requirements and be an engineering liaison to the Quality department.
This position will provide process control & engineering leadership of data acquisition and analysis of various operating equipment throughout the Shreveport facility, concentrating on heat treat processes and other equipment used in the production of seamless tube products.
This position will also be responsible as the Single Point of Authority for Combustion Safety for all furnaces in the BENTELER Shreveport mill.
A broad knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures will be applied to process improvement initiatives.
Responsible for optimizing equipment and investigating and implementing new engineered improvements;
Responsible for troubleshooting, advising and eliminating any and design, process and production quality issues;
Assist in the development and implementation of work procedures, PM's and LOTO;
Participate in down days, outages and special projects;
Participate in plant 5S and Lean manufacturing programs as well as any and all continuous improvement activities;
Participate in "Root Cause Analysis" meetings to determine and rectify problematic issues in the process;
Participate in safety activities to meet or exceed organizational goals and expectations;
Be an active participant in developing and maintaining a culture of professionalism;
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
BS in Engineering or BS degree with minimum 4 years' experience as a Combustion Engineer with tubular equipment experience preferred.
