SUMMARY Irrigates crops using syphon tubes and flood irrigation, in order to provide adequate water application while maximizing water utilization and irrigation equipment.
Operates a four-wheeler or pickup truck as needed for transportation, and assisting in irrigation to get the job done. As directed, assists in spring and fall pasture, field, and ditch preparation; assists in moving, sorting and working cattle as needed; assists in estrus detection, calving observation. RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms various tasks as assigned by the Farm, Feedlot, and/or Area Manager.Irrigates crops by setting and adjusting syphon tubes, and flood irrigation according to an irrigation schedule established by the Farm Manager/Foreman.Cleans and maintains ditch banks by burning and spraying weeds to ensure an adequate flow of water to the farm, and prepares ditches and fields for irrigation by cleaning ditches or dragging pastures.Assists with sorting, moving, or working cattle.

Irrigator (Corporate Headquarters - Emmett, Idaho)
1. Tear down valves, pipe fittings, flanges, bushings, bonnets, frac stacks, gate manifolds, flow iron pipe, pipe connectors
2. Rebuild valves, plug catchers, sand knockouts, and Manifolds
· Identify proper stud, nut, ring gasket sizes for flange end connections
3. Troubleshoot valves and chokes, identify problems, and repair defects
· Read and understand drawings/plans and technical manuals which guide disassembly/reassembly and testing work
· Select proper repair techniques
· Inspect valves and flanges for leaks, flaws, and defects using high pressure testing equipment
4. Perform Field Work as needed
· Perform field repairs (stem packing, changing chokes)
· Reassemble valves and specialized components at field job locations
· Rig up and assist with field operations
5. Load and unload 18 wheeler truck trailers, flatbed trucks, and hot shot delivery trucks with valves, manifolds, and machinery/equipment
· High School Diploma/GED
· 3 years related experience and training
· Extensive knowledge of valve repair techniques
· Extensive knowledge of the use of using precision measuring and torqueing devices
· Extensive knowledge of valve packing procedures and methods
· Extensive knowledge of the suitability of various threads, flanges, and equipment working pressures; ability to identify types/sizes of threads and flanges
· Familiarity with Rental Tool Management Systems (such as RTMS) is highly desirable
· Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend English
· Mathematical Skills – Ability to do basic operations of math including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Under direction of the Ground Maintenance Supervisor, employee performs work related to the maintenanceof City irrigation systems and City owned parks and properties. Operates various types of light equipment (i.e. backhoe and trencher),hand tools, and power tools in the maintenance of parks and buildings; mows lawn with riding lawnmower, push mower, or tractor, operates weedeater for extended periods of time, uses shovels, picks, clippers, hand pruner, chain saw, wrenches, etc. to performduties such as edging, trimming trees and shrubs, planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, repair and maintenance of equipment andplayground equipment, installing playground equipment, etc. in a safe manner. Cleans park grounds area, playground area, and other
City owned properties by picking up trash, broken glass bottles, and any other types of debris, and dumping into appropriatereceptacle; waters park grounds as required; sweeps sidewalks, cleans rest rooms, pavilions, swimming pool area, etc. to maintainclean and safe environment for visitors. Performs building maintenance duties such as painting, makes minor repairs of buildings such asplumbing. Installs, repairs, and maintains playground equipment. Responds to inquiries and complaints from the general publicregarding rules and regulations of park area, parks and wildlife regulations and Lake Mineral Wells State Trailway in a professionalmanner.
Performs manual labor duties such as digging holes, pouring cement, setting fence posts, preparing plant area, etc. in a safemanner. Performs minor maintenance duties of equipment such as changing oil. Monitors park area to ensure safety of all visitors suchas ensuring all pets are on leash and reporting any suspicious activity to proper authorities; summons law enforcement or otheremergency personnel via two-way radio or telephone.

Must have valid Texas Driver s License and driving record must meet or surpass guidelines as set forth by the City. May be required to attain Texas Structural Pest Control License and/or Pool and Spa Certification. Knowledge and experience in maintenance, trouble shooting, installation and the programing of irrigation systems.
Good knowledge of the methods, techniques, materials, and equipment used in park, athletic field, swimming pool, playground, and cemetery maintenance. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to irrigation. General Farm Work will include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive, attach and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize and harvest crops; familiar with JD 6400 tractor, rotary mower and round baler, hay buster, mechanized rock picker, bobcat and attachments, dump truck, backhoe; plant and water trees/install protective wire on farm ground to cover from wildlife; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery; may mix and/or spray chemicals (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/if applicable); remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; perform rodent control; remove rocks from field; paint/repair farm structures including barns and pump houses; replace/repair jackleg, steel post and wire, wood post and rail fencing; wire gate construction; repair corrals; construct/repair hay bale yard with steel posts and 8? chain link fence; haul, dig holes, and install rock for fencing; perform general clean up of farm areas; drive, load/unload trucks; operate motor bike or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performing duties. Irrigation duties will include the following:Hand lines: connect pipes; check alignment of pipe and adjust for proper water distribution; attach lines to water supply; turn on pump; turn valves to start flow of water; disassemble lines and carry pipes across fields at specified intervals; move pipes through freshly irrigated crops and/or plowed fields where mud may be deep at times; lift and carry pipe sections weighing approximately 40 pounds on a sustained basis.
Wheel lines: start gasoline engines and operate controls to move lines across fields at specified intervals. Pivots: push on switch that activates circle sprinkler system. Flood Irrigation: lift gate in side of flooded irrigation ditch/pipe permitting water to flow into bordered section of field; shovel and pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cut trenches in high areas to direct water flow; close gate in ditch/pipe when bordered section is flooded; open gate or connect pipe to underground pipe system that releases water flow into reservoir or ditch; siphon water from flooded reservoir or ditch to channel water into designated areas; shovel or hoe soil to clear ditches/furrows and build embankments to appropriately channel water; mix and apply proper solutions to fill holes/cracks in pipes, ditches, and spillways, and make minor repairs to metal, concrete, and wooden frameworks in pipe and ditch valves and gates.
Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/wheel lines from storage and lay out/place in predetermined patterns in fields; lubricate, adjust, repair and replace parts such as sprinkler heads and drive chains using hand tools; diagnose pump problem and repair; prime and restart pumps following power outages; replace hoses, gaskets and nozzles as required; install tanks and pipe line; observe revolving sprinklers and adjust to ensure proper operation and uniform distribution of water; disassemble, service and store pipes/mainlines/wheel lines after irrigation season. To meet minimum acceptable performance standards when irrigating, the worker must, after a 10 day conditioning period, move an average of at least 48 40-foot sections of 3-inch pipe or 44 40-foot sections of 4-inch pipe per hour under normal working conditions. Other duties as assigned, include: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain or to determine delivery time, assist in delivery;
