Constantly patrols all parts of all machinery and checks for quality defects on section and makes overhauls, repairs, or adjustments as needed.
Perform all "check lists" type duties on style changes, new warps and maintenance looms. Supervisor may assign assistance as deemed necessary.
Performs preventive maintenance procedures on looms. Records all action on the proper forms, takes corrective action or makes recommendations for repair.
Inspect machine malfunction and woven cloth to locate problems, determine work to be done, repair, clean, adjust, lubricate, etc. as required to correct malfunction.
Repairs or replaces defective parts, adjusts tension and timing of parts using hand tools.
Levels and aligns parts to prevent excessive wear.
Assists the warp changer personnel on cleaning and start-up of looms at warp out.
Will perform routine cleaning duties.
Blow off designated looms once per shift to keep them free of dust, scrap, etc.
May be required to run a set of looms at times when we are short a weaver due to vacations, sickness, etc.
Assist weaver as needed in repairing stops and creeling fill yarn.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:Mandatory – Must be able to read and write in manner indicated on application.Preferred – Weaving and good mechanical aptitude.
Secondary Weaving - Weaver
The weaver is responsible for the operation of 13-23 weaving machines. The individual creels and threads various yarns through metal devices on the loom to create a woven fabric.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual lifts cones of yarn which weigh between 8-25lbs and places them on a creel rack.
The individual will be on his/her feet for the twelve hour shift except for breaks.
The individual has to pull cones of yarn off racks hourly and reaches across the loom to locate and repair yarn breaks frequently.
The individual will push-pull a creel rack or cone rack to reposition it.
The individual is walking from machine to machine during the shift. The person has to step up onto a catwalk attached to the loom.
The individual has to be able to distinguish between colors since various colors of yarn are used. Also the loom indicator lights; yellow, blue and red, require the ability to distinguish colors.
The individual has to pass a hearing test since the weaving area is a high noise area requiring ear-protection. Verbal communication with shift foreman and co-workers is necessary in the work area.
Since a break in yarn occurs frequently, rethreading the yarn is necessary. The individual should be a minimum height of 5'0" in order to complete this task.
The individual places cones of yarn on a creel rack and repairs yarn break outs on the loom.
The individual has to be a self-starter since he will be assigned 13-23 machines.
The individual has to respond to the various loom indicator lights and repair the yarn break in a timely manner to met production requirements.
The individual will be required to decide when and how to correct a yarn break out and when and how to set up the creel rack. These activities are done constantly.
The individual is required to make various quality control checks hourly and correct as required in order to met production demands.
- High School Graduate with the ability to read and write. No computer skills required.
The individual should have a previous machinery work background or a interest to work with machinery. The individual needs to be aware that he/she will be on his/her feet for the entire 12-hour shift which requires being in good physical condition. The individual should have a previous work record and no accidents since he/she will be working around a lot of machinery and moving machine parts.

Weaver - Anderson
The Weaver is responsible for running looms at the highest level of quality and efficiency in a safe manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and adjust settings or repair/replace parts on loom if flagged, and document corrective actions.
Changing filling in loom (replacing empty quill with full quill), and replacing broken yarn ends as they occur. Patrolling and inspecting webbing for misdraws, mis-reeds, and quality.
Re-threads shuttle at filling out. Flags any and all defects. Responsible for production, efficiency, and quality on assigned looms.
Returns empty quills from loom to bobbin filling station.
Ensures sufficient supply of filling at loom.
Weaver flags and stops off loom for fixer when broke down or making defective material.
Watches warps and marks loom number on warp out sheet when warp comes off.
Records information on loom down time sheet when loom is stopped for warp out, breakdown, no mill order, or style change.
Checks looms for warp tension.
Performs width, camber, thickness checks as required and records on proper forms.
Regular, predictable, reliable attendance is required.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Use proper safety equipment and follow safety procedures (i.e., lockout/tagout).
Understand and follow quality policy and work instructions.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in other areas within the Weaving operation.
Clean up around work area when job is complete.

To lead the development of new woven products with particular focus on raw materials and woven constructions to elevate Guilford towards best in class status with our key automotive customers.
Winning woven selections on key programs and changing OEM's current perception of Guilford as a supplier of woven products.
This position will entail working closely with global engineering, design and sales departments both internal and at OEM's to ensure design, aesthetic and cost targets are satisfied as well as meeting customer technical requirements.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Interpretation of OEM design briefs with creative flair into innovative constructions
Work with the engineering, design and sales teams, to create new and innovative products which meet customer expectations in terms for design, aesthetics, technical performance and cost targets from design brief to business award
Determine optimum raw materials and constructions for each individual development
Use woven CAD systems to create woven designs for both Dobby and Jacquard fabrics

Be responsible for Purchase Order accuracy to ensure that Weaver's quotes and commitments are honored.
Be responsible for commitments given by the Brittain Machine team on any deliveries that are delinquent, being expedited or that are new programs.
Review drawing and specification information in customer Requests for Quotes (RFQs), to determine labor, material, and cost estimates for detailed parts, processing, and finishing
Analyzes specifications including sketches, blueprints, bills of material or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data
Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors
Travel to customer facilities and host visits to develop, foster, and maintain business relationships
Research and gather data for sales presentations to OEMs, customers, and management
Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner to all levels of staff
Provide customer support to mitigate risks, communicate progress, and ensure that customer needs are met
Assesses project issues and facilitates integrated team solutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals
