Key Accountabilities
Client Experience
- Ensures high quality standards in al Production client deliverables.
Operational Experience:
Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high quality basic to intermediate level production of conventional and liquid Flexo, CTP Flexo plates which conform to set technical specifications.
Printing plates for mounting
Mount printing plates in register as required to meet client's specs
Perform and record quality control checks
Pack and dispatch plates to correct destination. Record all dispatch details.
Run agreed routine calibration checks.
Ensure optimum performance of equipment and quickly report any equipment breakdowns.
Ensure that all time entries are accurate and up-to-date and all material usage is recorded.
Performs assigned tasks within the overall Production workflow and assigned budget, according to:
Work order specifications,
Industry and Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's),
The Company's high quality standards, and
The client's Brand guideline and standards.
Ensures client project team has most current information about the status of the assigned project(s) by logging in and maintaining in project tracking system (e.g. ONE!) accurate records of:
Project plan sub-project or task) information.

Experience:
Experience in Graphics Arts industry (e.g. Design Studio/Agency environment) or related field in manufacturing (i.e. Printing, Pre-Press) a plus.
One year related experience and/or training

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic to proficient Computer Software (SW) skills:
Apple Mac equipment and operating systems

The opportunity:
This position is responsible for the production of digital flexographic plates for the printing industry.
The ideal candidate will preferably have a high school diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience in a printing manufacturing environment.
How you will impact WestRock
Ensure Quality Control of the work within the department.
Create flexographic plates.
Check and measure final plates to ensure quality and records data.
Maintain the pre-press file structure with respect to final plate files.

Job Summary
Under general supervision, produces plates using automated platemaking equipment in accordance with job orders.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

Reads and interprets docket specifications, layout/imposition, press schedules, and flat tag information
Analyzes and organizes proofs and floats
Selects plate size and type, master and punch plate
Operates plate processor
Compares plate to proof and imposition and identifies each plate

Records work performed, plate usage and updates job tracking system and press schedule
Tests and calibrates exposures, inspects plate quality, operates hand tools
Retouches plates (additions and deletions) and coordinates plate remakes

Cleans, performs preventive maintenance on the equipment, and keeps immediate work area neat and orderly
Other (Non-Essential) Functions

Day-to-Day Role:
Read and understand schedules to print plates and labels.
Monitor the production schedules and maintenance of plate files.

Plate Product Specialist (Desk Sales) - Plate
The PLATE PRODUCT SPECIALIST serves as a product knowledge expert, as well as sales support for a designated specialty product set, including, but not limited to discrete Plate, and heat treated / abrasion resistant plate products.
