Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc)
Sweep ash from the kettle on a continual basis and store ash in barrels for later use
Inspect all material before galvanizing to ensure material meets all Sabre Safety guidelines and procedures
Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime
Knowledge of general safety guidelines and Sabre's quality expectations and application in the work place
Safely performs each and every step of the pretreatment process

Inform Kettle Lead of any quality concerns and/or maintenance problems.
Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work

Prior experience in a manufacturing facility highly preferred
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends.
Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources

We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to be the Manager, Kettle and Utility Operations for our Performance Products Division at our manufacturing plant located in Conroe, Texas.
As the Manager, Kettle and Utility Operations, you will lead and direct the activities of the Conroe plant Kettle and Utility Operations Department to produce specialty chemicals in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner.
As the Manager, Kettle and Utility Operations you are expected to:
Serve respectfully as a member of the plant managerial staff with a desire to grow, work effectively with the other management team members, and develop your subordinates.
Administer, plan, coordinate, and implement activities in the Kettle and Utility Operations Department.
Help in formulating plant administrative practices and procedures.
Oversee day to day activities in the kettle and utilities areas of the plant and notifies the Plant Manager or other managers of any significant safety, environmental, or production issues that arise in the kettle and utility areas.
Act as the commissioning manager for plant changes including the introduction of new products into the kettle units.
Work with the product commercialization team and participate in the product evolution process.
Supervise the Production Engineers, Operations and Maintenance Coordinators, Shift Supervisors, and Job Instructional Trainers for the area.
Administer plant personnel policies.
Evaluate and correct work performance and make recommendations to the Plant Manager on hiring, promotions, salaries, and release of people under your direction.
Ensure that the Conroe Kettle and Utility Operations Department is conducting its business in a safe and environmentally compliant manner and is protecting employees and the neighboring communities.
Represent the Plant Manager when he or she is not on site for instances which require immediate action by a plant authority.
Participate in budgeting activities and regularly review costs and expenses.
Work to ensure continuous improvement of the operating units in safety, environmental compliance, and production quality, quantity, and efficiency.

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred with 10+ years specific experience
7+ years experience within a Chemical Plant or Manufacturing facility; 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
Able to monitor the manufacturing areas 24/7 including areas that require climbing ladders and accessing scaffolding.
Possesses a broad knowledge of engineering principles governing petrochemical operations.
Must have the ability to coordinate the activities of operational personnel in all matters necessary to run in a safe, environmentally compliant, reliable and efficient manner.
Must have sound technical and analytical abilities to handle operational problems and plant compliance concerns.
Must have the ability to motivate and influence people. Needs good communication and diplomacy skills with plant associates, corporate service groups, customers and the general public.

This position is located in the UNICOR Furniture Factory at a federal correctional facility. UNICOR is a government cooperation which employs inmates in manufacturing and producing a variety of goods and services for sale to other government agencies.
A primary purpose of this position is to train and supervise inmates in the manufacturing of plastic laminate and wood furniture and other products of various styles and designs. The duties of the position include manufacture and assembly of case good word furniture, including desks, bookcases, wardrobe lockers, lamps, credenzas, desk trays and tables.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and is performed on a regular and recurring basis.
