Administrates the delivery of radiation therapy to patient accurately in a timely manner. Must be professional at all times. Must be a team member of the department.
- Administers accurately the prescribed planned course of radiation which is recorded daily with
supervision from a senior radiation therapist or chief therapist.
Communicates effectively to the patient the treatment room procedure, means of visual and audible communication during treatment, procedure regarding radiation reaction and their care.
Prepares room and equipment for each patient according to prescriptions regarding immobilization devices, field size, treatments distance, lead protection devices and other accessories.
Checks prescription, diagnosis, charts and patient identification for accuracy.
Observes, records and reports accurately patient and family responses to disease process and radiation treatment to the Radiation Oncologist.
Assist in dosimetry procedures and simulation with assistance from Dosimetrist, Senior Therapist or Chief Therapist.
Reports erratic operation of equipment to the Physicist or Chief Therapist in observance of radiation safety measures for patient and personnel.
Prepares daily treatment schedule and enters charges for treatment procedures on a daily basis.
Is capable of assessing patient's vital signs and ensures notification of the physician of any significant changes.
Graduate of Accredited Radiation Therapy School.
Holds current licensure in state of Florida.

Harvest Knife Room Operator 5 - B Shift
SUMMARY: This position is in the Harvest Knife Room and will be responsible for the sharpening and maintenance of the knives, saws, whizzard knives and air knives.
Will be responsible for routine maintenance, testing and current recordkeeping of the pneumatic knockers and hand-held knockers; cleaning and maintaining the Hollow & Final Edger grinding machines. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the supply area. Duties will include but not be limited to, obtaining the supplies by ordering and tracking using an I-Pad; maintaining an adequate inventory of knives and parts for numerous pieces of equipment; maintaining an inventory of personal protective equipment.
Must be able to communicate effectively; reading orders, writing requisitions, completing forms, etc. Will be expected to verbally communicate with managers and team members in a courteous and professional manner. Must be willing to work in hot, humid environment, temperatures may range between 80-110 degrees.
Must be willing to lift, push, pull or carry 50 lbs. daily and occasionally 100 lbs. Must be willing to climb stairs several times daily. Will be expected to work flexible hours or overtime as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: Experience: Previous knife room or supply room experience is helpful; mechanical skills preferred.
Minimum of 1 year employed with Finney County Tyson. Computer
Basic computer skills are preferred; will be expected to use a company issued I-Pad to order, track, manage inventory of supplies.
