Knitting Machine Operator - 3Rd Shift
- Assure the proper supply yarn is on creels.
- Assure yarn is properly creeled. “Knots” should be small and “Tails” should be short.
- Assure the machine and creels are clean and threaded correctly.
- Maintain high level of housekeeping at all times.
- Yarn should be off boxes, empty boxes and cardboard relocated to designated location.
- Separators must be put up out of the aisles and doorways.
- Empty cones off floor
- Entire area free of lint and oil
- Floor swept and clean
- Following style change (or lot change with dyed yarns), knit the first roll and hold machine until quality check in inspection is confirmed okay.
- Continuously visually check machine and fabric for defects.
- Fill out knitting ticket properly and completely which includes defects on tickets.
Pay Range - $10.00 - $17.00

What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Responsible for operating crochet-knitting machines, warpers, and tensor machines.
Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Will be responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions. Must attend all monthly scheduled Safety Meetings.
Knitter will run all 17 Knitting machines.
Warper operator will run crochet-knitting machines and warper.
Keep yarn "tied in" machine.
Thread machine when "breakouts" occur.
Monitor product for defects.
Knitter and Tensor operators stop machine and flag machine for technician for new warps.
Cut each roll and mark with designated identification ticket at doff.
Knitters are to remove rolls and place on buggy.
Maintain work area and equipment in neat and orderly condition.
Wipe cones and creels as needed and wipe creels as required.
Safeguarding of equipment to prevent damage.
Assist in PM's and general upkeep of machines as needed.
Blow all knitting machines once per day.
Blow warper off once per day.
Perform other duties as required or directed, with or with accommodation.
Meet department production goals.
Meet department quality goals by ensuring only quality cloth coming from Knitters.
Follow all safety rules, plant rules, department rules and implement total quality in his/her area of responsibility.
Participate in Plant Corrective Action Team Program.

Report all unsafe conditions in a timely manner.

Position Profile: To Assist Moachine Operaor as a helper
Isothermal press team members will work with High Temperature furnaces and Isothermal Press Components to uniformly forge and heat isothermal parts to prescribed temperatures, duration and quenching process to manufacture parts with conforming grain structures.
Essential Functions: This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities, and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
Demonstrates understanding of isothermal forging processes in the capacity of successful forging of isothermal forgings. Reads work orders and blueprints to determine specified tolerances and sequences of operations.
Operates control systems for isothermal furnace loading operations. Operates Isothermal Press Controls to turn on, check system, initiate press set- up, load dies and tooling into press and remove tooling after forge run is complete. Assists in developing and writing procedural and operational work instructions, FMEA-s and other required documentation
Monitors all system status and alarms, including, but not limited to, vacuum, cooling water, argon, air, electrical, furnace and die heater TC-s, manipulator and part positioning, etc.
Follows all procedures and escalates accordingly any indications, alarms or system malfunctions.
Monitors quality of product to ensure meeting quality and dimensional specifications and takes appropriate action when out of specification product is identified. Ensure complete data for quality review before final submission to the customer. .
Measure and inspect parts using various inspection tools (Calipers, Gauges, Micrometers etc.) to ensure conformance to product specifications, fills out inspection reports and inspects/identifies sign of non-fill, wedge, tearing, lapping and cracking.
Completes accurate die stack assemblies and planning based on successful mastery of all other major job operations.
