The Leidos Associate Security Assurance Engineer in support of Cryptographic and Security Testing Laboratory (CSTL) performs initial assessments of cryptographic security functions; consults in development of a product's security design; and tests products against one or more of the following security standards; National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 for cryptographic modules, FIPS 201 for Personal Identity Verification (PIV) smart cards, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) enterprise scanning tools and Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) for smart cards as well as associated standards in accordance with the NIST validation programs requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Interprets nondestructive inspection test results, and provides information about defects to repair center. Establishes radiation areas for radiographic operations.
Computes and monitors personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitors personnel exposure data. Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detects flaws such as cracks, delaminations, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, Thermography, Shearography and ultrasonic test equipment.
Determines metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. Must have at leastEigtheen (18)months' experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment.
Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.

Evaluate Technical documents and identify performance test needs; types of tests, scripting scenarios, and volume projections as required. Coordinate and collaborate with multiple groups to determine, gather and verify performance test needs. Develop workload simulation matrix and determine scripting scenarios. Develop a Performance Test Plan/Strategy document that includes short and long-term test objectives, types of tests required, workload matrix, and scenarios. Develop test scripts and load projections needed to simulate virtual users. Develop test execution scenarios for various types of tests such as load, stress, duration/endurance, and run tests. Creates solutions and conduct performance tests to improve availability, performance, reliability, capacity and scalability in the application, system or database layers. Administer deep-dive and methodic performance degradation diagnostics/troubleshooting and propose viable explanations. Identifies application performance bottlenecks and facilitate root cause analysis of system issues to minimize impact and future occurrence. Ability to performance heap and thread analysis, CPU, memory, database deadlock detection, understand and detect resource contentions.
