Concrete Plant Foreman
Efficiently produce high quality plant-mixed products at the required production rates. Reports to Superintendent, Construction Manager, or Operations Manager. Projects are throughout the Midwest and will require traveling.
- Set-up, operate and take down plant as assigned.
- Maintain and service equipment assigned to plant operation.
- Monitor material inventories and coordinate material deliveries.

Build and layout concrete wall forms
Install plates, rebar, wire, etc. as necessary
Tie, grind, and/or cut rebar/reinforcing steel as needed
Pour and finish concrete
Perform general construction labor to include jobsite clean-up
Complete safety inspection of work area
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt or concrete experience

Able to load and unload materials and distribute them to the appropriate locations
Ability to operate hand and power tools including vibratory compactors, cement mixers, air hammers, small hoists, and basic survey equipment

Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.

Concrete Worker, Laborer - Temporary Position

CONCRETE WORKER, LABORER - TEMPORARY POSITION
Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in concrete construction projects including preparing surfaces for concrete
Build, erect and align forms for various concrete structures and foundations
Read and interpret project plans and specifications
Estimate concrete quantities, appropriate mixes of sand and cement if concrete is hand-mixed
Use survey equipment to ensure proper grading
Perform duties of cutting, bending and placing reinforcing wire mesh/mild reinforcement, preparing appropriate sand and cement mixtures and placing, pouring and rough leveling of concrete.
Fine finish concrete by floating, troweling, edging and brushing in accordance with specifications.
Fine grade fill to grades specified in construction documents
Interpret blueprints and read survey stakes to establish correct grades,re-bar sizing, spacing, and placement information
Utilize hand tools and non-complex small power tools and performs minor maintenance as required
Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment to secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
This is a TEMPORARY position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

Responsible to safely operate concrete plant to batch materials used in construction. Moves controls on panel board or control board to weigh and mix aggregate, cement and water to produce concrete. Ensure conformance to quality specifications.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Perform daily equipment walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained, conduct toolbox meetings daily/weekly.
2.Safely and properly operate plant. May be required to operate additional company vehicle during plant tear down, moves and set up.
3.Identify appropriate material to produce quality asphalt or concrete material per job specifications.
4.Communicate with quality control personnel and make required adjustments to material blends.
5.Monitor inventory levels of all mix materials (aggregate, oil, cement powder, fly ash, etc.)to ensure no depletion during production demand.
6.Monitor production levels and adjust production as needed.
7.Schedule trucks and start times, communicate with operations supervisor prior to loading trucks.
8.Tear down, set up and calibrate plant.
9.Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
10. Lead personnel at plant and work with dispatch to schedule drivers. Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
11. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
12. Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail.
13. Accurately complete plant reports and other documentation as needed.
14. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance. Maintain safe working environment and foster safety culture, ensure good housekeeping skills and lockout/Tagout procedures. When needed, accompany employee to medical facility when injured and manage work comp claim by working closely with medical provider on treatment plan.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Laborer – East Plant (Soy), Decatur, IL
This is a full time, hourly position.
This is an entry-level position in a union workforce. Laborer is expected to perform a variety of jobs, tasks or duties as assigned.
Laborer must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and holidays as required. Job duties may include, but are not limited to: general housekeeping, clean-up, sweeping, vacuuming, painting, oiling, greasing, lubricating, sample retrieval, power washing, lifting, hauling items up and down stairs, stacking or dumping 55 lb bags, shoveling dry materials, and various warehouse duties such as driving a fork truck.
