Senior Water Engineer - Pipelines
Description Executes complex assignments relating to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems including distribution, collection, and transmission pipelines. May develop and evaluate plans and specifications for a wide variety of projects.
May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable. May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports, or project design assignments. Progressive design and project management responsibilities.
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. Significant marketing and client coordination responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering from accredited program. Minimum 7 years related experience in the design of water/sewer/stormwater pipeline related projects (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Must understand pipeline design, construction, operations, and best practices.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must possess a proven understanding of hydraulics, pipeline design, linear project permitting, and distribution/collection knowledge.
Experience with trenchless technologies, pipeline/structure rehabilitation techniques, and experience with other water/wastewater related facilities a plus. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments relating to water, sewer, and stormwater pipelines and associated appurtenances (valves, vaults, etc.). Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Should be capable of providing marketing and client development support which may include development of proposals and marketing collateral.

TransCanada's Liquids Pipeline Integrity team is seeking an internship/co-op student to work in the Omaha, NE regional office. The student will report to the Manager of Pipeline Integrity Programs – Liquids Pipelines Operations Engineering.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has excellent organization, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, exercises good judgment, and has excellent writing and interpersonal skills. This position is part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The candidate will work closely with professionals in Pipeline Integrity that are based in Omaha as well as 2 locations in TX.
They will provide assistance with the management of Pipeline Integrity programs with a focus on in-line inspection and dig support, facilities, and program planning. This position may include opportunities to visit the field and to learn about new and established techniques and technologies for pipeline inspection and maintenance.
