Duties and Responsibilities:
The Specialty Technician-Salvage Welder performs a variety of product quality related duties, involving either inspection or repair, while adhering to Caterpillar's core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment, and sustainability. The Specialty Technician will effectively interact and communicate with facility management, manufacturing engineers and production employees to help ensure and improve quality within the facility.

Compile, report, track and follow up on continuous improvement and quality metrics for the area
Training employees on quality procedures
Analyzing quality defect data and summarize quality improvement opportunities

Utilizing mobile welding unit to do various welding repair work on machines
Caterpillar 2G Certified to apply
Caterpillar 4G Certified in 6 weeks of accepting the Job Role
Caterpillar 4F certified within 6 weeks of accepting the Job Role
6 months experience in a Production Tech 2 fabs role or requisite external experience
Demonstrated ability to operate bore welding equipment

Proficient (intermediate level) computer skills

Asphalt Raker / Laborer
This position is physical in nature and requires a versatile skill set. This position is the backbone of each crew.
- Assist construction crew / paving crew / plant crew with various duties such as shoveling and raking and running a wheelbarrow.
- Perform general labor duties when necessary.
- May be called upon to run small power tools such as jackhammer.
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes for road, site or highway construction and paving.
- Dig, spread and level construction materials.
- Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
- Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
- Previous related experience in construction field is preferred.
- Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration form.

Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week)
Perform rebuild and repair machining work as required. Repair or rebuild worn and failed parts requiring welding reconstruction and/or machining.
- Perform salvage and repair setup and machining operations as required. Qualified candidate shall have journey-level knowledge and skills related to industrial-repair machining of large parts, occasionally exceeding 20,000 lbs. Familiarity with welding, thermal spray processes, and hydraulic repair are highly desirable. Preferred 5 years' experience.
Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities
Ability to set up machines and run the machining job.
Metal spray or HVC processes as required.
Perform reboring, rebuilding, resurfacing, magnafluxing and grinding as needed.
Prepare service reports.
Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
Maintain company equipment – keep in good clean orderly condition.
Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
Machined parts are within specified tolerances.
Skills & Abilities
