Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Liner Testing Technician to join our Nevada team to support liner and other construction materials testing of mining/commercial/industrial projects.
Conduct liner inspections and perform field and laboratory QA/QC tests on liner
Oversee contractor testing of liner

Liner Hone CNC Machine Operator - Mcalester, Ok
Responsible for using expert knowledge to operate and control computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines. Maintain knowledge of G&M codes and input them into CNC machines for production, while ensuring products have precise and accurate measurements.
Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited, to lathes and milling machines in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
Operate, perform set-up changes and first article inspections on production runs utilizing CNC machines.
Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.

Control the productivity of the entire shop by coordinating the transfer of steel from the BOF, through the ladle refining process, and then to the Caster.
Formulate a clear understanding of grade chemistries and specifications.
Monitor grade chemistry. Conduct investigations into missed chemistries.
Supervise the return and processing of ladles so that the BOF has ladles to tap heats into without delay.
Coordinate crane movements in the service and teeming aisles.
Supervise BOF and ladle met pit clean-outs.
Supervise ladle gate maintenance.
Monitor ladle and iron pot wear and coordinate replacement of linings, pre-heating, and repairs for all steel ladles and iron pots.
Coordinate movements of clean and dirty tundishes.
Coordinate the holding of heats in the pit if present when the Caster has an unplanned shut down.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Technical Repair, Production Planning, Quality and other Departments as needed.
Supervises 8 hourly bargaining unit employees and multiple outside contractors. Instructs personnel in job requirements, company rules and practices. Oversees the adherence to established company rules and practices with regard to employee attendance, performance, training, safety and any other required areas.
Holds daily toolbox meetings and monthly safety meeting. Conduct inspections, review and revise JSHA's and QSOP's and inform employees on these changes. Observe and document safety and quality performance of employees, investigate and report on all accidents/incidents. Monitor department assigned safety area and report on equipment and issues that need repair or replacement. Submits a monthly Safety/ Housekeeping report.
Inform incoming turns and upper management of any problems that were encountered or are ongoing.
Must be able to complete all aspects required to ensure compliance with AK Steel's Safety and Quality program.
Previous supervisory experience in an industrial setting preferred.

To efficiently and safely assist in the operation of the Master Caster Vacuum Furnace, and the Air Casting Furnaces to produce castings that meet PCC's metallurgical specifications and technique card requirements.
Objective: to check equipment, and assist the Furnace Operator to assure accurate proportions of each element in alloys produced in compliance with all Process Control Procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
A. Checks vacuum level, power supplies and other furnace systems.
B. Prepares metal materials for the melting process to meet element proportions per schedule.
C. Weighs materials to be melted.
D. Inspects and maintains refractories and mechanical components of the furnace system.
E. Prepares ingot molds, and other alloy production components for use.
F. Ensure ladle is cleaned and in proper working condition for casting parts.
Objective: to assist with or operate furnace to complete heating and pouring.
Essential Job Functions:
A. Maintains vacuum levels throughout melts.

Complete Grede Fork Truck Training and hold a valid fork truck license.
Fill the converter ladle with the required amount of iron as specified by the Pressure Pour Operator.
Add the requested amount of silicon as specified by the Pressure Pour Operator.
Transport iron to the specified treatment area.
Monitor the treatment process to ensure good magnesium reaction.
Report any abnormalities during the treatment process to Melting and Molding Supervision.
Perform daily inspection of converter lift truck.
Complete the inspection check list and forward to supervisor.
Notify supervision immediately of any unsafe conditions found during inspection.
Maintain the converter ladle in good operating condition, i.e., chamber plate holes open and of proper size, magnesium hatch seal, door seal, nose hole, slag removal.
Assist in the maintaining of the holding furnace spout and receiver and slagging operation.
Maintain and control the holding furnace temperature.
Record and plot data, notify supervision of any out of specification conditions.
Maintain contact with melt deck and pouring station to ensure proper batch size, alloy additions, temperature, delay or special instructions.
Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
Participate in area continuous improvement efforts including Employee Involvement activities.
Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines.
