Ladle Repair Operator
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting job opportunity as a Ladle Repair Operator at the Mt. Meigs, Alabama site for Dow Corning Silicones. The Ladle Repair Operator is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Ladles used in the manufacture of Silicon.
Key Responsibilities:
Ladle dig-out.
Refractory repair.
Safe operation of large mobile equipment, and the pouring of refractory.
Other activities include electrode installation support as needed.
Follows all safety and work procedures.
Ensure proper personal protection equipment is worn.
Ensure activities are completed in a safe and timely manner to support production activities.

Required Qualifications:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the need and support the installation of electrodes. This may include a variable, rotating schedule, five days a week. May also need to work early morning hours as business needs demand.

Job Description
Operate cab-type, traveling overhead bridge crane to pick-up, transport, and transfer ladles of molten carbon steel from the electric furnace to the casting machine in accordance with melt production and casting schedules, established practices and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
Receive direction from supervisor and work from oral instructions, melting schedules, and established operating procedures.
Tools and equipment comprise 60-ton traveling overhead bridge crane equipped with air-conditioned and heat shield protected cab, ladles, tundishes, clam shell bucket, chains, slings, communications receiver, air hose, broom, and portable lubricating tools.
Materials used and processed include various grades of molten carbon steel, slag, lubricants, and operating supplies.
Check crane to ensure safe operating condition.
Operate crane through manipulation of bridge, trolley, and hoist controls to spot empty ladles at furnace, pick-up ladles of molten steel, transport to casting machines, and return empty to bottom dump area.
Remove and replace tundishes.
Hoist ladle for spout preparation and spot ladles in designated area for cleaning, rigging, and preparing for next heat.
Operate crane with clam shell to clean out furnace pit and provide crane handling services for a variety of materials, supplies, and equipment for the melting and casting areas.
Remove and replace electrodes in the absence of the regularly assigned Charge Crane Operator and perform other melt shop crane handling operations in accordance with the workload and operational requirements.
Lubricate bearings, shafts, gears, and other friction points as directed and operate crane to service maintenance personnel.
Make out operational safety check sheet.
Assist fabricator in stocking lathe stirring platform
Place ladle at stiring station for stirring and move ladle to old caster after stirring heat.

Cheese L1 Tube Liner Inserter Operator
Job Summary
Oversees Dolly Washer, Vacuum Sealers, Boxmaker, Closer and Tube Liner Inserter. Maintain areas to provide quality packaging for 640 # blocks.
Essential Functions
Dolly Washer:
Spray all dollies off, use scrub brush and HC10 on them.
Ensure all cleaning and chemical sanitizing mixing procedures are followed.
Each dolly has a clean cheese cloth if put on at that station if not at the angle station.
After each cheesecloth is placed on the dolly spray with delvocid.
If running arena check each dolly with the dolly squaring tool.
Log Delvocid lot code onto the delvocid tracking log sheet each time the sprayer is filled.
Ensure environmental cleaning is done and signed off by the end of each shift.
Assist the angle washer/tube liner operator when needed.
Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
Vacuum Sealer:
Ensure vacuum pumps are on and vacuum sealers are enabled.
Close vacuum sealers as soon as they have four fresh boxes.
Place clean slip sheet on cheese and fold bag, after vacuum sealers.
Place bottom boards and irons on boxes (reject any damaged components).
Check Tosca iron legs on the leg jig to ensure they fit the 640 box correctly.
Ensure boxes don't sit in one place for too long, to prevent a jam.
Fix any jams in your area.
Contact Level 3 immediately when you can't fix a jam.
Ensure environmental cleaning is done and signed off by the end of each shift.
Log Delvocid lot code onto the delvocid tracking log sheet each time the sprayer is filled.
Foam area when not in production.
Inspect each block for any foreign material ex. Plastic, excessive peppers, other color cheese etc.
Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws.
Boxmaker/Breakdown/640 Front End/640 Back End:
General knowledge of components (Arena, Tosca and Kraft).
General knowledge of banding machine operation and cleaning.
Inspect each box for correct assembly.
Keep a supply of 640# boxes on line at all times (10-20 boxes).
Contact Level 3 or ATL when banding machine is not operational.
Identify bad components and reject them.
Assemble boxes by hand when banding machine is down.
Ensure environmental cleaning is done and signed off by the end of each shift.
Tower preparation for CIP.
Tower Cleaning.
Refill and thread plastic wrap on machine.
Closer:
Fill sprayer with Delvocid solution and complete Delvocid log.
Remove cheesecloth from each block and dispose of it.
Inspect each block for foreign material: Plastic, metal, excessive peppers, other kinds of cheese, etc.
Spray the cheese with Delvocid and place a clean slip sheet on top.
Fold bag, place press board, 6 springs, top board and top iron on cheese.
Insert a white card stock on each side of the box for a label to stick to.
Ensure boxes don't sit in one place for too long to prevent a jam.
Fix any jams in your area and keep inverter in working order.
Push dollies when not in production.
Assist to keep inverter in working order.
Foam Decking around Tracks, tracks 17-20, inverter and scrape all buildup off.
Tube Liner Inserter:
Place a blue tube liner in each box after it gets made and cheese cloth on dolly.
Use dolly squaring tool to check for bent tabs when running Arena.
Keep liners stocked.
Do not use any damaged or dirty liners.
Assist the angle washer operator when necessary.
Ensure environmental cleaning is done and signed off by the end of each shift.

Summary:
The Liner Production Associate is responsible for molding completed liners out of socks and gel. The associate is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all of the forming equipment in the liner forming area and for ensuring that the forming area meets all production and quality goals on a daily basis. Follow standard operating procedures for the umbrella locking process including dispensing equipment, process parameters and data collection.

Coates sock evenly using forming equipment.
Molds socks into liners.

Transfers completed liners to the QA position for inspection.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Work with operations team to drive a culture of safety and environmental excellence through critical hazard identification, risk reduction, and risk mitigation.
Work directly with operators and department leadership team to meet the business objectives of the department

Summary:
Responsible for performing various activities to include but not limited to the liner installation of metal detectors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, assemble and install all types of HD, ABS and Pharm style liners on metal detectors.
Setup metal detectors for overnight testing when completed.
Ability to work on a steady, even pace to promote accuracy and quality of work
Maintains highest achievable 5S ratings throughout all areas of responsibility.
Always considers the company Green Initiative when planning activities, procuring supplies or disposing of materials or other assets.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience using hand routers, drills, measuring tape and other hand tools.
Basic computer skills and work well with others in a production environment.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines
Work within established systems, standards and procedures.
Plastic welding experience preferred.
AutoCAD knowledge/experience preferred
Able to occasionally stand, bend, sit, walk etc.. for long periods of time (8hrs).
Ability to lift a maximum of 40lbs. on a daily basis.
Pay rate: $14/hr - $16/hr DOE

Essential Responsibilities:
Conducts all businessactivities in accordance to BHGE HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements,and BHGE Values
Perform root causeinvestigations on all assigned nonconformance issues and document accurately toprevent repeat incidents
Prepare both internal andexternal technical reports on root cause analysis and new product performance
Perform analysis on forces,pressures, and stresses acting on completions systems to create successfulsystem design
Design and document approvedproduct modifications in Solidworks
Provide technical support tooperations and sales by having in-depth understanding of tool functions andapplications
Ensure supplied equipment iscompatible with all other equipment used for job
Provide front-line engineeringsupport with customer

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors' degree in Engineering
3 years of experience inWellbore Construction and/or Cased Hole Completions applications
Ability to be on call outsideof normal business hours
Thorough mechanical andapplication proficiency in an oil and gas environment
Strong communication skills
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelors' Degree inMechanical, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering
