Summary:
Serves as a member of the front line production team. Responsible for various tasks that support the production of the high capacity commercial laundry plant in order to meet customer needs. The type of work performed could be related to the following: Dryer Operator, Wash Operator, Stain Washer, Sewing/Mending, Soil Sorting, as well as folding, commercial ironing, packing and distributing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains flow of linen into the tunnel, washers, dryers, etc.
Pulls bags and/or processes other laundry activities in the designated order.
Loads linen into empty pockets in tunnel; continues to do so as pockets transfer.
Keeps pockets loaded correctly with proper load size; prevents overload.
Follows directions and safety precautions.
Maintains the production standards as determined per hour.
Notifies supervisor if frequent technical problems are impacting the ability to meet production standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Laundry Worker
- Prepare and feed damp linen into sheet spreaders and ironers; fold, stack and place laundry on conveyors; smooth and fold dried items and place on conveyors; and wrap or package linen. Must be able to stay in a stationary position for long duration and position self in order to operate laundry equipment. Graduation from high school or equivalent. Generally Monday-Friday 6am-2pm although occasional weekend overtime may be required.
Custodian
- Surface clean and/or wax furniture, mirrors, venetian blinds, toilet rooms and fixtures; vacuum, sweep strip and wax floors; shampoo carpets and clean upholstery; stock restroom supplies and maintain an inventory of supplies; make beds and change linen; open or lock buildings or rooms; collect and transport waste materials; shovel snow or ice from entrances; clean grounds; unplug commodes, urinals, and sinks without dismantling fixtures; mop wet floors and stairs; operate mechanical cleaning equipment. Messenger/Runner
- Make delivery and pick-ups of used and sterile instruments from various Michigan Medicine units. Restock instruments and supplies as needed. Other duties as assigned by management team. Health care experience preferred. High school diploma desired. Ability to stay in stationary positions, move about various buildings and stoop/bend for long periods of time. Shifts vary and work days vary.

Assistant Laundry Manager
This position reports directly the Laundry Manager and oversees all Laundry/Valet operations. Included are the timely production and delivery of guestroom, food and beverage and pool linens/terry to the hotels: the preparation of reports to ensure adequate response to the needs of the hotels; adherence to established operational budgetary guidelines and federal, state, and locally mandated safety and environmental regulations. Additional responsibilities include training, performance evaluations, scheduling and supervising the personnel within the department.
Supervises the Laundry/Valet Department operations to ensure efficient delivery of quality product in a timely manner
Ensures adherence to all departmental guidelines, policies and procedures
Schedules personnel so as to ensure optimum performance of Laundry/Valet operations, monitors daily payroll reports to ensure adherence to established budgetary guidelines for labor expense
Establishes production schedules designed to meet the requirements of the respective hotels and monitors activities to ensure that schedules are met
Supervises personnel, work assignments, and scheduling of product/equipment usage to maximize performance and productivity of available resources
Attends meetings as necessary in order to keep up to date on respective hotel related activities/information
Communicates frequently with hotel Housekeeping Directors and managers, F & B Directors and managers and Star Service managers to obtain information necessary to establish production schedules which address the current needs of the individual properties with regard to linen, terry, employee uniforms and employee and guest valet
Assists Laundry/Valet Manager in coordination of inventory control and replacement purchase requisitions for all guestroom linen/terry and food and beverage linen.
Conducts periodic inventories of all linen and terry products, generates monthly usage report

Holds daily "huddles" with Supervisors and monthly staff meetings as required to maintain communications with all department personnel.
Monitors chemical usage so as to maintain acceptable "per pound" production process costs
Produces reports relating to employee/equipment productivity, linen and terry usage, damage/discard statistics necessary to evaluate department performance and assist in maintaining operating par stocks for all guest room / F&B; linen, terry
Interacts with Engineering on equipment repairs and preventive maintenance schedules, monitors performance of all recommended/required activities to ensure equipment performs safely, efficiently and that down time is kept to a minimum
Stays current with regard to changes in technology, and/or operational procedures that effect the operation of the Laundry/Valet Department
Interviews, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines departmental personnel according to Loews standards
Follows New Hire Training and on-going training programs in accordance with Loews Hotels corporate training standards.
Determines need for, and conducts appropriate on-going training on equipment operation, sorting, safety and basics of laundry production.
Evaluates individual employee performance, determines areas where need for improvement or requirements for advancement exist, establishes goals, objectives and training needs required to achieve same

- Laundry Services plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to Laundry operations. This person will develop the laundry program to meet client and customer demands and specifications.

Additional Responsibilities:
Leads laundry service departments. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified approach to patient/resident care.
Primary level of impact in within own component, but also affects the overall facility safety and operations.
Drives patient satisfaction and maintains client relationships through rounding.
Qualifications
Requires 3-5 years of experience and 1-3 years of management experience.

Description
The Hyatt Place Mohegan Sun LAUNDRY HOST inspects, washes, folds and stores all laundered supplies for both the Rooms and Food & Beverage Departments.
The Laundry Host separates linen according to classification, fabric and color. Counts all soiled linen and records the totals.
Operates washers and dryers as per established procedures loading and unloading accordingly. Folds, stacks, hangs and stores all laundered linen. Separates, counts and records damaged linen and places in designated area.
Records discards in discard file. Cleans dryer filters as scheduled. Reports equipment malfunctions promptly to the Executive Housekeeper.
Keeps supplies and storage area orderly at all times. Cleans all equipment and work area daily.
Maintains par stock of laundry and cleaning supplies and informs Executive Housekeeper of supplies needed. Assists with month end inventory.
Reports any hazardous conditions or malfunctions of equipment to the Executive Housekeeper. Provides assistance to associates to contribute to the smooth operation of the department and the property. All other duties as assigned by Management.
Requires walking and standing for entire shift. Requires ability to perform light physical labor such as lifting, bending, stretching and reaching.
Requires the ability to lift 25-30 pounds infrequently. Requires ability to communicate both orally and in writing with guests and coworkers. Requires knowledge of applicable standards and procedures. Must have the ability to complete applicable forms and to communicate effective with supervisor and other department managers.
Candidate must be warm and welcoming, have excellent service skills and be able to make our guests feel at home.
