To operate and maintain 2 piece dry offset printing press and produce high quality printed cans. Recognize and communicate any print anomalies to front end (mistakes in files etc.) to facilitate a can that will be able to be run commercially in accordance with the timing and needs of our clients.
Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results
Review job ticket instructions to determine requirements of job production.
Operate Dry Offset printing press for metal decorating. ( Dry off-set not required but preferred)
Order all materials necessary for the operation of the printing press.
Review any revisions or recommendations to the designs with the appropriate graphic arts personnel.
Interact with each plant workstation to meet with the supervisor's timelines and scheduling concerns.
Manage and record all can proofing jobs by customer, design and properly records billing information on all can proofing production to customer service.
Assist with color standards and ink data recording. Ensure that proper ink formulas are recorded for future reference by providing proper press run sheets to production manager and coordinator.
Interact with SGS graphics personnel on any technical issues which may arise.
QC work performed in accordance with department SOP's.
Be responsible for keeping all work areas clean and orderly.
Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive creative impact on the business.
Manage ink inventory, color swatch library and pilot can standards.
Communicate with ink supplier on ink inventory when needed.
Enter new inks into data base and file in storage.
Make ready press (mount plates, apply ink, register plates, obtain color match).
Apply varnish to cans.
Work directly with onsite customers (visitors) for any in-house pilot can approvals.
Present printed cans and collaborate with customer on adjustments.
Maintain Press in proper mechanical operations. Record daily, weekly and monthly maintenance records by keeping proper logs on file.
Communicated necessary press maintenance in advance with production manager
Create Pilot standard by using SP64 and use of XRite QA manager and/or Ink Lab
Participate in meetings, phone calls and conference calls with customers and/or production plants on any design technical concerns or refinements necessary in meeting production requirements.
Responsible for monitoring and improving plant efficiency.
Provide support and direction to decoration team members.
Participate and advise on best practices/SOP creation or updates.
Responsible to ensure that plant procedures are being followed.

Position Summary: In accordance with standard operating procedures and safety policies the Press Lead performs all primary functions related to pressing operations. This role will communicate with scalehouse, crush/forklift operators as well as winemaking to optimize pressing operations. The Press Lead will support training as needed with junior operators and communicate labor needs to ensure efficient operation of presses and crush pad operation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs Leadership role for press operations. Ensure Operations are functioning to meet Kenwood/Mumm winemaking standards and collaborates with winemaking for continuous improvement to operations
Performs all work activities in the cellar, including but not limited to running all equipment such as pumps, filters, gassing devices, tank presses, forklifts and mixers.

Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
Requires knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments. Skill to read and understand job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
Must have sufficient knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most approrpiate use of the press and corrective adjustments required to run efficiently. Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being run. Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.
Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment. Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast, front and side guides and the timing of the head stops).

Hours/Typical Work Week: Position is 3rd shift – 11:00pm-7:00a. During Summer months, this role requires someone able to work 60-70 hours per week on average. During off-season months, this position is typically 40 hours per week.
Press Operator (Nights)
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Operates and tends all types of production machines such as several different types of punch presses and feed systems, 4 slide machines, cut-off saws, deburring machines, drill presses and lathes to produce production parts of various metals to include steel, aluminum copper and other resistive materials, as well as some non-metallic materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Receives work assignments in the form of blueprint, technical specification, sketch or drawing from Supervisor / Production Coordinator as to type of parts that are to be produced. May consult with Supervisor / Coordinator regarding completeness of the specifications, prints, or sketches and to set up proper tooling, stock feeders, or whatever required for proper machine to produce part.
Set-up stamping line per specifications and ensure all raw materials are present and correct. When appropriate advise die makers of the set-up required for the product you will be running. This may involve the use of any or all the equipment described above.
At completion of set-up, run an appropriate sample and ensure inspection is performed as required by the appropriate specification.
Run products as assigned. Operate manual feed presses and/or RH lines if assigned per appropriate specification
Loads coil stock material onto de-reeler and starts coil stock into dies at proper place as to insure proper tool care
Loads material onto stock feeder reel. When lead frame parts are made, and parts are put onto take-up reels with interleave paper.
Ensure all finished stock is properly packaged labeled and ultimately packaged and ready to send to your customer, after Quality acceptance.
Qualified operator and collateral inspector, if assigned to lead-frame production lines.
High school diploma or equivalent.
A familiarity with punch presses, pressroom terminology, equipment, and processes, normally obtained in working at least 3 months to 1 year in a similar work situation.

Skills / Certifications

Depending on you assignment you may also be required to use appropriate gloves for material handling and appropriate protective clothing if working in the tumbling area or assisting in the Mold Compound room. Summary of Position:
Working from prints, bills of materials, and instruction perform duties to set up and operate CNC brake press machine to form sheet metal parts to designated specifications
Essential Job Duties and
Study and interpret blue print, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
Plan machine set ups, retrieve appropriate punches and dies, program necessary information into control system, position work piece and operator press brake machine through production runs to form specified quantities of piece parts to close tolerances.
Perform first piece inspections and make necessary adjustment to machine to ensure parts are formed to designated tolerances.
Communicate with managers, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues.

Perform quality inspection on 100% of work product by using appropriate measuring tools to ensure defined tolerances and measurement are accurate to Blue Print.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives.
