POSITION OVERVIEW: Lead others and steer Brake Press production on a day-to-day basis! This position would also be responsible for performing hands-on operations with manual brake presses to form and bend a variety of materials. Responsible for part quality and efficiency. Provides direction to the department as to workload, quality, process control, etc. Provides training to less experienced operators. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate brake press and punch press to form, bend and punch a variety of work
Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates
Use scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gauges
Sorting and packaging parts
Verify quantity & quality of material
Moves raw material to and from production areas as necessary
Empty scrap luggars and performs miscellaneous tasks as required
Operates overhead crane while moving product
Provides direction to department to schedule work, quality issues, process control and training.
Responsible for strict adherence to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations
Maintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards PRINCIPAL CONTACTS: Daily contact with machine operators, material handlers, engineering department, supervisor REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Accurately create all serial bar code labels for boxes being shipped using established processes and ensure weight labels match bar code labels for quantity.
- Confirm QC Inspection stamp is on box label before taping box for shipping, scan each label as “produced” and send back to shipping department.
- Calculate all production data sheets during shift, verify quantities produced/scrap codes used, and give completed sheets to Shift Leader at end of shift
- Create boxes and labels for the start of the next shift and “tare-out” boxes as needed using established procedures.

Requires excellent knowledge of digital print and/or ink jet equipment set up, adjustment, operating procedures, and a corresponding level of skill to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment. Good knowledge of file manipulation and file formats for digital print.
Knowledge of RIPs such as Fiery, PRISMAsync and FreeFlow. May instruct junior level operators how to complete the required corrective procedures. Knowledge of different paper types.
