Material Handler: Treating Plant Operator
Essential Functions of Position
- Package or stack lumber
- Correctly identify lumber
- Stack lumber in designated format
- Stamp product correctly
- Mark all units with proper count and lumber identification
- Store finished product in proper location in the yard
- Report all of the above to the Treating Plant Lead
- Unload and properly store incoming inventory
- Fill out tally sheet completely and legibly
- Check all quantities and mark units with proper counts
- Check quality of product
- Check correct product shipped
- Check order number to make sure load belongs to the treating plant
- Properly store in correct location
- Use correct blocking to avoid damage
- Leave space between rows for inventory control purposes
- Straighten any tipped piles or unorganized areas to avoid damage and potential safety hazards
- Maintain inventory control in an efficient manner by:
- Comparing daily production sheet against treated lumber removed from the plant
- Analyzing lumber counts, length and type
- Move assigned white stock into treating plant for processing in an efficient manner
- Insure proper rotation of treated materials
- Handle and care for equipment conscientiously
- Any abuse or unsafe use of equipment should be reported to your supervisor
- Report any malfunction of all equipment to your supervisor for instructions
- Inspect forklift daily for any malfunctions or dripping fluid.
- Any dripping fluid must be cleaned up per the established containment and clean-up procedure
- Maintain a safe, organized and neat working area
- Adhere to all OSHA safety and reporting requirements
- Apply all EPA rules as instructed in regards to hazardous materials' safeguard and recordkeeping and contingency plans
- Clean and remove sticks, band and other debris immediately after completion of shift
- Dump garbages in a safe manner
- Band and place unused lumber in proper location
- Maintain stampers, banders and other gear in a neat and organized way
- Prompt removal of snow and ice
- Assist in building repairs and maintenance and in organizing yard areas
- Assist other personnel when needed or instructed by Treating Plant Lead
- When directed, work in production or material handling

The Alaska VA Healthcare System (AVAHS) is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 3 facility serving Veterans throughout Alaska. The parent facility is located in Anchorage, Alaska and is adjacent to the 673d Medical Group, Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson which is a VA/DoD Joint Venture Hospital. We manage four VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), located in Fairbanks (358 miles north of Anchorage), Kenai (158 miles south of Anchorage), Wasilla (41 miles north of Anchorage) and Juneau (569 air miles from Anchorage). We manage a VA Outreach clinic located in Homer and served by staff from the Kenai VA CBOC We also manage a 50 bed Domiciliary for homeless veteran's located in downtown Anchorage.
Anchorage is a mid-sized city of approximately 292,000, with all of the modern amenities expected, including shopping, dining, cultural opportunities, entertainment, and public transportation. Leave the traffic jams and commuter stress behind and enjoy the scenic mountains or Cook Inlet views as you travel around the area. Within 15-20 minutes you can be in the Alaska wilderness of the Chugach National and State Forests, with little evidence of civilization.
Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating, skiing, climbing, golf, tennis, recreational leagues and wildlife photography are all pursuits available in or near Anchorage. The University of Alaska Anchorage provides educational opportunities for continued personal education and growth. Alaska has no state income tax and Anchorage has no sales tax.

Responsibilities The Lead Medical Support Assistant
(MSA) position serves as a mentor for all Medical Support Assistant (MSA) staff assigned to Primary Care and is a foundational role within the VHA Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) initiative. Patient care is delivered in a team based model known as the teamlet.
Members of the teamlet include the MSA, a Registered Nurse Care Manager, a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse and a primary care provider. The teamlet provides the majority of the healthcare needs for an assigned panel of patients. The teamlet works collaboratively with other members of an expanded health care primary care team including pharmacists, social workers, dieticians, behavioral health staff, etc. to provide a robust interdisciplinary approach to care. Important interfaces and collaborations also occur with larger health care system providers including VA and non VA specialists, hospitals, diagnostic and treating facilities, and community based programs.

Description The lead will be responsible for execution of the business strategic planning that includes all improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to the assigned VSM department.
