Install and remove rubber injection molds into variety of presses, makes them ready for production. Assist mold cleaning, maintenance and engineering. Troubleshoot molding operation problems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Remove and install rubber injection molds into a variety of presses using various tools and power mold trucks.
Remove and install rubber injection molds into preheat ovens and storage racks using power mold trucks.
Obtain production 1st Article Sample Approval (checking parts against acceptance criteria, completing paperwork, and submitting parts for approval).
Verify that proper materials and equipment are at the workstation prior to turning over to production personnel.
Troubleshooting production process problems as needed.
May assist with mold cleaning process.
May assist maintenance and process engineering teams.
Complete heavy mold setter daily time log.
Follows safety rules, participates in safety meetings and notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions or events hazardous to the environment. Suggests ways to improve the environment or health and safety.
Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement.
Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement.
Promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions and helps to resolve them.
Ability to read and understand work instructions and traveler instructions.
Ability to read and write well enough to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
Must understand acceptance criteria, be able to understand a criteria sheet, and be able to use a size mylar to determine is parts are acceptable for first article.
Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs.
Able to operate and troubleshoot molding presses.
Operate mold cleaning equipment and effectively clean molds.
Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with variety of staff.
Ability to obtain a powered lift truck license for powered walker trucks.
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to read and understand press cards, procedures, work instructions, safety rules and warning signs.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to (50 pounds) on a daily basis.
Ability to walk and move about, stoop and bend, and climb (ascend and descend ladders).

PURPOSE: To make mold changes in a reasonable amount of time, safely and without any damage to mold, machine, etc., while maintaining the stat boxes.
1.Check mold changing schedule to make sure molds are ready to go in.
2.Remove and re-hang breakdowns.
3.Change mold according to the mold setting and removal guidelines.
4.Clean machine and part drop area after mold change.
5.Maintain stat boxes in operational order
6.Make sure knock-out bars going into the mold are the same length and not stripped out.
7.Make sure all molding setting areas are straightened up and clean.
8.Inspect and repair water and air hoses.
9.Maintain electric for trucks, checking water in batteries and making sure batteries are fully charged.
10. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements.
1.High School diploma / GED equivalent.
2.Basic trouble shooting skills and proven ability to apply that knowledge.
3.Ability to lift 50 pounds a minimum of 4 times per mold change.
4.Ability to lift 20 lbs. over shoulder height a minimum of 10 times per mold change.
5.Ability to climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance at a minimum of 16 times an hour.
6.Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
7.Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms and horns on forklifts.
8.Ability to work at heights (with or without fall protection). Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
9.Able to climb ladders safely and without assistance for a minimum of 12 times per mold change. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
10. Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.
11. Able to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.
12. Able to work overhead or in awkward positions on a frequent basis.
13. Ability to push/pull loads of approx 60 lbs at a minimum of 6 times per mold change.
14. Stereoptic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
15. Able to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.

Set Up Technician / Mechanic performs installation of injection molding tooling.
*Entry Level Candidates with background in automotive and/or mechanical repair skills are encouraged to apply. Opportunity for growth in skilled trade position. On the job training provided.
Perform mold installation, set-up, and removal.
Maintain mold related hardware.
Fabricate chutes and guards to prevent part loss.
Must keep accurate paperwork.
Must perform any other assigned duties.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes
Installs dies on press, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools, and coats dies with parting agents, according to work order
Set-up press to run production
Alters thermostat to regulate temperature of dies
Lifting heavy objects
Performs all functions of mold changeovers, including installation of secondary and automated equipment
Maintain cleanliness, organization, identification and storage of equipment related to mold setting functions including company supplied tooling, secondary equipment, including chutes, conveyors and mold temperature controllers in their proper locations.
Assist in general maintenance as necessary.
Regular attendance and professionalism.
Willingness to work O/T as required.

Contact Lens Fitter
Under the Branch manager's direct supervision with technical review by the ordering Optometrist, is responsible for fitting both rigid and soft contact lenses using an approved spectacle prescription.
Measurement of corneal curvature by use of a keratometer; selection of lens size; inspection of fit through the introduction of fluroscein and the use of a Burton Lamp and/or slit lamp.
Training patients, individually or in groups, in the proper procedure for wear and care of daily and extended wear contact lenses.
Receives and inspects contact lenses.
Maintains and reorders stock.
Refers for conditions that deviate from the norm, completes necessary records and requests future appointments as necessary.
Make available to patients, pertinent literature and associated contact lens products.
As applicable, is responsible for the sale of sunglasses to contact lens patients.
May also be required to perform spectacle dispensing and related activities.
As pathological conditions are observed, refers patients to the Ophthalmologist or Optometrist for care.
Enters prescription and sales information into computerized system and performs all other clerical functions required to satisfy patient needs.
