Job Title: Sealer
Reports to: Production Supervisor
"Sealer" refers to the production work force that applies sealer and associated processing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Sealers are responsible for the application of sealant using a variety of methods as needed in accordance with the build requirements. NOTE: As there are no levels associated with this position, progression is predicated on time and performance as determined by Management and/or HR.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Must be present and able to work as required of their position/shift/etc.
Must be able to interpret build instructions (i.e. Installation Plans or IP's, work orders, etc.) to enable production of parts consistent with current engineering configuration.
Must be able to use tools and techniques as required of their assigned builds.
Must understand the deliverables as defined by their supervision.
Must be able distinguish quality characteristics as it relates to their assigned builds so that a quality part is presented to QA.
Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Must have a focus on Quality and have a clear understanding of risk escapement and potential impact to product.
Must be authorized to work in the United States. International Traffic in Arms Regulation/Export Administration Regulations (ITAR/EAR) clearance is required
Other Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
Knowledge and understanding current specifications relating to the application of sealant.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Assistant Sealer Operator - (Ct10470)
Prepares corrugated waste by manually banding product and placing in bin to go back to vendor or to recycle depending on the cause for waste.
Completes pallet for movement to warehouse by attaching corner posts if required, printing ticket and attaching sticker to pallet sheet and to pallet.
Adjusts palletizer for product by setting controls for height and count.
Runs packer, feeder, and palletizer by monitoring and adjusting each section of machine as necessary.
Troubleshoots where carton is out of alignment, case count problems, feeder/packer issues, makes adjustments are necessary.
Perform quality checks as required.
Perform preventive maintenance as required.

10. Restacking pallets of 48lbs cases from floor to above shoulder height.
11. Moving wooden pallets.
12. Climbing vertical ladders up to 16 feet from ground to platform.
13. Crouching for 2-5 min., un-jamming equipment.
14. Pulling and pushing with force.
15. Pulling hand pallet jacks.
16. Lifting rollers to change belts up to 60lbs in awkward position.

Production Assistant - Case Sealer (2597-159 Child 1)
This is an entry level position. The employee who occupies this position is responsible for any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.
The Assistant responsibilities can include feeding, packing, labeling, palletizing, operation of the banding/wrapping equipment and operation of Packsize equipment.
Lift handfuls of material and placing in the feeder of the equipment.
Pack cartons into cases directly behind gluers or directly after stripping
Inspect cartons - ONLY Quality Products are to be packed!
Strip individual cartons off die cut loads
Off bear cartons off cut loads into separate copies or die positions
Prepare cases, layer boards, and labels for jobs
Check job ticket or spec book for appropriate pallet configuration
Stack cartons according to spec on pallet. Confirm that labels are correct and facing out, as applicable, on all finishing pallets. Also making sure corrugated is all lined up and matches in appearance.
Stretch wrap complete pallets and send to shipping
Re-stock materials for the following crews, which include but not limited to, making lids, corrugated stocked and also keeping the tables stocked up with tape
Operate electric Pallet Jacks safely to move WIP or finished pallets.
Maintain the cleanliness of the area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc.) performed during make-ready.
Conduct quality audits as required
Conduct sorting operations as required
H.S. Education or equivalent, computer literate.
Abilities: Good attendance, guide teams/processes, ability to work alone.

Qualified individual will prepare parts prior to the painting operation. Inspects and preps parts for conformance.

Check each machine schedule for the next job to be produced.
Locate and pull corrugated cases and other materials needed during the start of a Make-Ready on the gluer in a timely manner.
Read job jacket specifications for special instructions not limited to correct cases, dividers, labeling specifications, scored U-Boards and skid height.
Acquire working knowledge and develop basic mechanical skills to assist in the set up and maintenance of the tape machines.
Be able to operate a fork lift and electric hand jacks.
Pull cases, pads, dividers and U-Boards to the correct machine.
Once the job is in production, label all cases and place on the designated pallet.
Move full pallets to the stretch wrap machine then wrap and the put in the warehouse for inventory control.

Remove banding & excess corrugated material from work area. Sweep as needed and when machines go down for scheduled shut down/clean up at the end of shift.
Organizing work area using visual methods such as labeling, pictures, and defining specified locations for commonly used tools, documents, parts, etc.
Empty & replace Gaylord for corrugated scrap as needed.
Check supplies such as tape, corner boards, wrap and request as needed.
Lift up to 35 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs intermittently and up to 75 lbs rarely.
Stand up to 11 hours per day.
Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel occasionally throughout the shift.
Uses hands for simple and power grasping, as well as push, pull and fine manipulation.
Work at and/or below shoulder level.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work well with others.
