Development Chemist - Solvent Based Liquid COE
This role is responsible for the development of new global product platforms for the solvent based liquid markets. This will encompass formula design, the preparation and application of coatings, and testing of these coatings against a wide range of regional specifications and customer requirements.
Key functions & accountabilities:
Develop new coatings and modify existing coatings to achieve continued sales and profit growth.
Provide customer support through scale-ups, trial runs and technical expertise.
Provide production support through anticipating and resolving technically related production problems.
Adhere to corporate policies and government regulations by compliance with established standards on business conduct, environmental issues, EEO and safety.
Acquire knowledge of and participate in the Quality Process by serving on committees and other involvement.
Acquire experience and expertise needed to handle more complex development activities in order to operate independently.
Maintain a clean and safe work area by following established housekeeping procedures and safety policies.
BS/2 degree in a technical field such as Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering is required, along with a demonstrated track record of relevant work experience in Automotive, Industrial, Automotive Refinish, or Protective and Marine coatings.
Expertise in experimental design (DOE) and complex problem solving are required.
The candidate should also experience in managing complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders.
