Level of Work:
Direct Supervision from a Bridge Operator Foreman, Parish Highway Maintenance Superintendent, or other equivalent level supervisor; may receive lead worker direction from a Bridge Operator 2.

Receives on-the-job training in the operation of power driven drawbridges.

Operator Structure And Bridge South - Fredericksburg District - Middlesex County
Fredericksburg District is seeking a qualified individual to serve on our District Bridge Crew-South to perform preventative and restorative highway/bridge activities. This position will work out of Middlesex County as part of a crew to repair and maintain bridges and other structures. Performs manual labor to include formation of footers, abutments and wing walls, place and finish concrete, erect steel beam bridges and install timber and concrete bridge decks.
Position requires ability to operate a 3-ton dump truck, rubber tire front end loader, backhoes and various types of hand/power tools.
Applicants should have demonstrated experience in preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment/tools; ability to flag traffic, set up work zones and traffic controls; perform physically demanding labor over, in and around water from boats and scaffolding at various heights and in harsh weather conditions.
This position is designated as essential and, as such, all duties associated with the job are required during emergency situations which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response, and emergency operations. Bridge Operator (On-Call)
This recruitment will be used to fill on-call Bridge Operator positions only. An on-call employee is an employee whose employment is intermittent, irregular or is normally less than half-time. The days and hours worked by this position are sporadic, based on staffing needs, and will include evening, late night and same day needs. On-call employees are generally on-call to fill full-time open shifts (Daytime - 7:00 am to 3:00 pm; Swing – 3:00pm to 11:00 pm; Graveyard – 11:00 pm to 7:00 am) or report for a bridge lift call-out at any time of the day or night. However, on-call employees are expected to be available for a two week rotation where one is on-call 24 hours a day for bridge openings. On-call employees receive a sick leave benefit and are at-will employees.

Equipment Operator I - Road And Bridge
Maintains and operates light and heavy equipment used in the operation of the
county's maintenance and construction projects.
This position requires shift work and potential for varied schedule.
NOTE: This position is located in the Eagle River Valley area. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to on-call situations within 30 minutes of receiving notice.
Example of Duties
Operates equipment associated with the construction, reconstruction, maintenance of county roads and bridges, and snow removal.
Cleans, services and makes minor repairs to assigned equipment including checking for leaks, broken parts, and correct fluid levels; reports equipment problems to supervisor.
Performs manual work associated with equipment operations.
Completes daily work reports and repairs on equipment.
Directs traffic at work site.
Required to respond to duty calls during off-hours if contacted by the county.
Maybe placed on official on-call duty at various times.
Performs other related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High school diploma and certifications related to gravel, traffic control, or asphalt maintenance.
- One year experience operating light construction equipment or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Valid Class B Colorado Commercial Driver's License and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
May be required to obtain additional certifications depending on area of assignment. Certifications related to gravel, traffic control, or asphalt maintenance.

Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instruction in order to operate machinery and other equipment.
Ability to Learn to use machinery or equipment in order to perform more advanced tasks.
Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous towards fellow employees, citizens, and businesses while performing repair and duties.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
License, Certification, or Registration:
- Class "B" Colorado Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
Lift and carry moderately heavy materials, supplies, and equipment (25-50 lbs.) frequently.
Lift heavy materials, supplies, and equipment (50-100 lbs.) occasionally.
Work requires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Use of tools and equipment requiring high degree of dexterity.
Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, extremes of temperature, and noxious fumes and odors; exposed to hazards associated with equipment, machinery, and ungraded terrain at construction sites and moving vehicles on roadways.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Essential Job Functions:
Performance of the essential functions of this position require the Associate to possess the minimum qualifications listed above. These functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment in accordance with Department of Sanitation and QA standards.
Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
Perform all duties in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations as they pertain to the Liquor Department operation.
Adhere to all Federal, State and Local regulations as they pertain to the Liquor Department operation.
Dress and groom according to Company policy, including uniform, name badge and hat or hair restraint requirements.
Perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling unpackaged foods.
Transport product to aisle and stock shelves according to tag allocation and department standards.
Open boxes of product using case cutter as appropriate.
Remove cardboard to baler area and operate baler.
Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to Company policy, with priority attention given to refrigerated, perishable items, and sell by date.
Ensure proper price tags and signs are displayed with applicable items.
Keep shelves and displays fully stocked and faced at all times.
Greet all Customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
Understand operation of cash register and follow all cash handling procedures.
Process all forms of payments (i.e. cash, credit, checks, EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, vouchers, gift cards, etc.) in accordance with Company guidelines.
Properly bag Customer's orders safely and efficiently.
Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise that weights 25 lbs., and that occasionally weights up to 80 lbs.
Unload trucks and transport merchandise to Liquor Department that weights 25 lbs., and that occasionally weights 80 lbs.
Check prices, and be knowledgeable about location of items in store.
Accurately and quickly collect proper payment and provide proper change.
Promote for sale any current charitable promotions to Customers.
Recognize and be knowledgeable about various types of products carried in the store.
Stand in designated work station for duration of scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
Understand and adhere to Company shrink guidelines as relates to Liquor Department operations.
Perform all duties in accordance with Company rules, policies, safety requirements, and security standards, and all Local, State and Federal health and civil code regulations.
Perform duties in accordance with the Company's HAZCOM program and adhere to manufacturer's label instructions for the safe and proper use of all chemical products.
Utilize and maintain equipment as required by department; report any equipment problems immediately.
Complete all applicable department training programs.
Perform all duties in accordance with all ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency).
Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
Work overtime as assigned.
Work cooperatively with others.
Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo's, power jacks, and slicing machines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
