Load Planner/ Dispatcher / Driver Manager

Dispatchers are expected to maintain effective communication with customers, drivers, and management to ensure the timeliness of freight and equipment movement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: dispatching and routing drivers on loads, tracking drivers en route (and making necessary reassignments) to ensure On Time Delivery, managing loads from booking to delivery, managing any problems that arise (e.g. late deliveries, unexpected fees/claims, truck/driver problems, etc.), ensuring drivers abide by federal/state laws, answering phone lines, recommending strategies to maximize utilization of resources and increase productivity. Additional duties may include: review driver paperwork (including all bills of lading and trip documents for accuracy), enter shipment data, and communicate with the maintenance shop to ensure timely repairs. Geographical knowledge and Electronic E-log knowledge required.
Load Planning Dispatcher
The Load Planning Dispatcher is responsible for the day to day Load Planning, Dispatching, and Tracking of drivers within an asset based fleet. This includes daily communication and interaction with truck drivers, as well as customers.
Ø Confirm that truck driver understands the shipment requirements on all shipments, including but not limited to: Pick up & delivery location, Pick up & delivery times, load securement requirements, Hours of Service availability and requirements, any other special instructions
Ø Monitor truck drivers Hours of Service, ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations
Ø Provide tracking updates to customer, on time pick up & delivery
Ø A clear understanding of truck driver and equipment locations at all times, and availability status
Ø Knowledgeable of pricing and market conditions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Ensures proper coordination of customer material on all containerized aircraft at CVG and within other flights in the US network in relation to load planning activities.

Participates in the establishment of department goals and the implementation of procedures and performance standard to achieve those goals. Manages, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the activities of department staff.
Supervises the nightly operations of the Load Control staff.

Interact with the Hub, ACS, and NCG groups on load plans, excess weight and or bulk issues.
Formulate strategies for excess material and/or system reroutes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS -High school diploma or equivalent education required. Bachelor or Associate degree preferred.
One to three years of experience in Hub and/or airline operations.
Ability to report to work at any time, as operational needs required.
