REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
Responsible for all activities associated with Feeding the machine , stacking the equipment and helping the operators including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Load sheets into the feeder section of the Machine
Set-up bundler, hold down arm, load former, and delivery end of machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
Secure proper cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags for production runs.
Stack finished boxes in accordance with factory master.
Ensure each unit has proper top and bottom cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags.
Monitor quality of boxes and report quality problems to Operator.
Assist operator and first helper as necessary.
Ensure correct bundle and unit counts.
Report final count of piece unit to operator.
Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
Helps operators adhere to production schedule.
Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.
Additional duties may be assigned by management.

The Purified Acid Rail Loading Operator will report to the departmental Shift Supervisor.The Rail Loading Operator will spend approximately 85% of the time monitoring the equipment used for loading or transferring product to ensure that all loading procedures are followed while maintaining contact by using phones and radio systems; another 15% reviewing and monitoring truck/railcar loading operations; and approximately 40% of one's time will be spent on activities related to following SOP's to ensure proper loading processes are maintained. An additional 29% of time is spent on conducting inspections of the loading areas including components such as pumps, filters, lines, locomotive, and support equipment. Other activities include, but are not limited to; training employees in the safe and proper operational and situational procedures related to the loading, transferring, and shipping Purified Acid.
The Rail Loading Operator is responsible for work outcomes of the assigned area.
The ability to handle conflict may be needed when dealing with product shipment concerns.
Immediate action of the Rail Loading Operator may be required in order to prevent or avoid production losses, as well as, loss of life or environmental upsets while loading materials.
Communicating instructions, relating, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources for the purpose of loading products and blend products is very important to the daily activities of the Rail Loading Operator.
The importance of the information received and relayed could have an impact on the production and quality of the Rail loading operations. The information reviewed and received by the Rail Loading Operator is important to planning his daily activities.
Information related to monitoring processes and surrounding areas is important when performing inspections on equipment, structures, or materials needed for loading truck and rail tankers.
Procedures that have an impact on human safety such as, the Lock Out /Tag Out permitting, Confined Space permits, and scheduled maintenance repairs are coordinated and approved by the Rail Loading Operator.
Evaluating information to determine compliance and standards is a key responsibility of the Rail Loading Operator and includes directing co-workers to follow Standard Operation Procedures, safety, and environmental procedures, work rules, instructions, and daily production activities.
- To effectively perform, as a Purified Acid Rail Loading Operator, requires curriculum training and on-the job-training for approxiately 24 months.

Machine Operator I
A first level position requiring the operation of insertion or printing equipment for processing customer statements and other customer communications for a world class statement processor. The position requires an individual who is production and quality focused and who is capable of working in a high volume and demanding continuous production environment. Associates will be exposed to 5S and Lean Principles and will be expected to comply and exhibit behaviors consistent with 5S and Lean. The individual must be a self-starter, able to be cross-trained on multiple pieces of equipment (high speed and low speed), a team player, organized, and results oriented with exceptional work habits. Ability to stand for long periods, up to entire shift. Ability to bend and move about the production floor, to reach various parts of the production equipment, as needed. Ability to lift 25-50 pounds, if applicable (this may vary). Ability to monitor and respond to production runs visually, in addition to the use of a computerized production program, where applicable. Flexibility in work schedule, and decision-making ability are also required. Position requires compliance with all Department policies and safety regulations. Must have previous CNC machine operating experience where you had to program or enter job specs into a computer terminal!

Third shift works Sunday-Thursday 7:30pm to 6am; Friday 6pm to 11pm (48 to 53 hours/week).

We currently have a 2nd shift (2-pm-10pm) – Monday-Friday) opening for an experienced production operator at our Aurora Box facility. This facility manufactures corrugated packaging for local and national customers.
Benefits of working at International Paper Aurora include but are not limited to the following: Starting pay at $17.51/hour with pay increases at 3,6,9 and 12 months with the possibility of earning $21.62 at one year of employment.
Candidates with 1 or more years of experience in a corrugated manufacturing facility may be considered highly qualified and could be eligible for pay increases sooner. In addition, there is a shift premium for working 2nd shift equaling >$500/year.
