Perform precision measurement and inspection, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, using prints of drawings, if applicable, and cutting tools. Will be required to attend formal class room training All educational requirements must be completed within a five year, 10,080 hour apprenticeship period.
Credit for previous work/learning can be applied. All employees in this program will be on probation for a period of 2080 hours. Performance will be reviewed by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee.

Packager / Back Up Batch Maker
This position is at Kao Collins Inc., located at 1201 Edison Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45216.
Ink Batch Maker is a position which should require moderate supervision by Production Supervisor. The position is responsible for learning how to operate equipment, manufacturing and packaging fluids, and keep their workstation/equipment/products clean and orderly, and performing other duties as assigned.
Learn how to operate equipment/tools
Adhere to processes & procedures, follow a batch ticket, record information on batch tickets, labeling containers, packaging inks and inspecting customer products per requirements.
Pull/weigh/blend raw materials to make inks (water, solvent, UV/EB, or oil based).
Responsible for continuous improvement according to the Kao Collins culture.
Follows all safety and regulatory compliance procedures. Attends all required meetings and training.
Must maintain adherence to "The Kao Way" standards at all times.
Inventory control activities.

Education and/or Experience
Employee must have a high school degree or equivalent. Prior batch making or Compounding experience preferred, but not required. Worked in a GMP (good manufacturing practice) environment.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Operator must be able to: 1) read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedures, 2) complete process documentation accurately, 3) follow all emergency, evacuation and environmental protection policies and procedures.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. May require the use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules or diagrams.
Reasoning Ability: Requires the use of some judgment to perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations and processes within the limitations of standard operating. Requires intermittent mental/visual attention to observe and monitor process conditions as well as observing for problems.

The Cheese Maker is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through batching and processing of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product and process is clean and sterile. The Cheese Cook is also responsible for maintaining and cleaning all equipment in assigned area.
Familiarity with all applicable cheese making equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items.
Test, monitor and batch all products in accordance to established procedures and policies.
Ensure curd is over and processed as soon as possible to protect curd freshness and texture.
Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.
Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.
Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.

The primary responsibilities of the journeypersons and apprentices of the toolmaker bench trade are as follows:
Responsible for maintenance and repair of hoppers, escapements, bowls, tracking or tubes, and lower indexes, arbors, hone pots, tool clamp, clamp wedge systems, collets, all moving pallets fixture, Gatco bearings, poppets and center line position.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of all parts loader/unloaders.
Responsible for tool clamp faults and collet assembly (HDE).
Responsible for HDE Con Rod Operation 20 and 50 change over.
Responsible for maintenance and realignment all gantries, load and unload part location for true position.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of all linear bearings on all fixtures, probe plates, part alignment, part gripper and transfer fingers and bolts.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of all generating heads.
Responsible for the installation, repair and removal of all bushing plates, fixture plates, and probe plates (Pipefitter responsible for nozzle maintenance and sizing).
Responsible for locating pins, rest pads, guide rails, rollers which consist of Osborn, McGill and cam rollers, as well as and brass pads for control arms.
Responsible for installation of spacers and shims with alignment of centerline fixtures.
