Purpose: Operates several types of power construction equipment such as compressors, pumps, hoists, derricks, cranes, shovels, tractors, scrapers or motor graders to excavate, move and grade search, erect structural and reinforcing steel and pour concrete or other hard surface paving materials.
Work Schedule: Varies by location. Must have open availability any time any day of the week. Length of employment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration.
Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to)
Turn valves and control air and water output of compressors and pumps.
Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to drive machines and control attachments such as blades, buckets, scrapers and swing booms.
Read engineering drawings.
Judge distances and slopes accurately.
Use machinery to move construction materials, earth, and other heavy materials at construction sites.
Operate equipment to clear and grade land to prepare it for construction of roads, buildings, and bridges.
Use machines to dig trenches to lay or repair sewer and other pipelines and hoist heavy construction materials.
Operate machinery that spreads asphalt and concrete on roads and other structures.
Set-up and inspect equipment, make adjustments, and perform some maintenance and minor repairs.

West Crane Operator is responsible
for running the crane must be understood in total with the
focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and
productivity goals as outlined in our quality system.
Listed below are the primary responsibilities which must be learned,
understood and followed according to work instructions. The normal
time frame for completion of training is approximately three
months. The Process Engineer / Supervisor will monitor each
person's progression and provide any necessary instruction or
direction as deemed necessary during the training period.
All Slab Yard Employees must be able to perform the duties of

built in coverage on the shifts. All employees must be ready
to step up and cover.
1.Unload slabs from railcars and trucks.

9.Visual check for defects on slabs.

Petroleum Coke Cutter/Bridge Crane Operator who will be responsible for operating all equipment necessary to remove Pet Coke from large drums including: jet pumps, hydro cutters, delta valves, and any asset pertaining to the coke unit and load-out system which Savage operates. This operation is located within the Marathon Refinery in Garyville, LA. At this operation, we cut and empty material contained within large silos called Coke Drums, gather the non-hazardous material called Petroleum Coke with overhead cranes, then load onto conveyor system which carries it away to another site for ship loading or other means of transport.
Perform proper decoking techniques by following all associated procedures while paying close attention to hot spots andallowing for extra quenching where needed
Working with the Crane Operator to un-head and re-head the coke drums, as well as performing the final sweep of the coke drum
Operate crane to maintain proper pit & pad storage and load coke from pad to grizzly hopper by following all associated procedures
Maintain good and open communication with Crane Operator, Supervision, Managers and Maintenance Personnel via radio and other proper means
Help maintenance personnel with equipment maintenance when additional manpower is needed
Properly inspect equipment prior to and post operating and report any additional maintenance needs and conduct frequentaudits on the crane and other heavy equipment
Maintain clean work space by removing trash and debris from all areas of responsibility including structures, offices, restrooms, break rooms, vehicles, crane cab, etc
Complete all necessary documentation as required including JHA's, permits, log entries, audit sheet, daily check sheets, etc.
