Hawkeye Forest Products has an immediate opening for an experienced Hardwood Log Buyer in Northern Midwest. This job procures for our Western Wisconsin mill, but a buyer can live in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin or Illinois.
This person will be responsible for log procurement activities with a heavy emphasis on walnut purchases. Will procure hardwood timber and logs through direct landowner negotiations, log bids and from independent contractors. Will coordinate the delivery of cut logs to company facility and oversee harvesting of company owned tracts.
Hardwood Log Buyer Responsibilities:
Primarily focused on purchasing walnut logs utilizing company buying processes and log grades.
Utilize handheld data recorder and tagging system to collect log purchase information for submittal to office for inventory control purposes.
Must have the ability to build and maintain relationships with log suppliers through ethical, consistent and professional performance.
Must follow and understand industry markets and trends.
Hardwood Log Buyer Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Forestry preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
2 years of successful log buying experience preferred.
A general knowledge of logging practices.

Logistics Manager (Fld Log Svcs)
The Market Manager is responsible for managing Field Logistics Services, including Delivery and Installation, to customers in a designated market area for products purchased across various retailers and commercial businesses, including those operating within Sears Holdings, and through various sales channels, including brick and mortar and online. Products may originate from the Sears Market Deliver Operation (MDO), Sears Store Delivery Operation (SDO), other Sears facilities (Stores), or a local Third Party facility (other Retail Store or Warehouse), and ownership continues until a satisfied completed delivery or install at Members' homes.
