A Surface Logger is expected to work a 14/7 rotation (with flexibility) on drilling locations throughout the US. These individuals gather technical, geological and observational data to ensure proper interpretation for production companies.

The successful applicant’s duties will consist of the following:
- Shift rotation of 12 hours per day; 14 days on and 7 days off average
- Set up and install sensors, computers and equipment
- Monitor data from proprietary data acquisition systems
- Collect and analyze cutting and fluid samples from the well
- Communicate data with various key personnel
- Prepare reports
- Follows the guidance and direction of the Surface Logger II or Senior Surface Logger
- Must be able to perform and follow safety protocol for both Empirica and external client

Media Logger 1
The is a media-oriented support position for an international broadcasting organization in Washington DC. Our long term contract with Voice of America is looking for media production assistants to help our MRT (Media Resource Team) to support VOA's Central News Services.
Our effort and MRT team at the Voice of America organization in Washington DC plays an important role in the generation of the 50+ TV and radio daily programs that are sent around the world. The media from Reuters, ABC News, Agence France-Presse (AFP), and federal government is brought to our team to be ingested with metadata into the large media asset management system (named Dalet) that the programming at VOA draws from for their daily shows.
The Media Logger position is described below:
- Full-time position with approximately 40 hours a week for 5 days a week, on average and will include a weekend day at the start.
- Review daily news feeds, government public presentations & conferences, and political news events & broadcasts.
- Media Logger position will watch/listen/cover television content and provide data entry/ metadata inputs into a professional media asset management system.
- As a member of the Media Logging Team you will provide important up-to-date video content into the media database, searchable by metadata.
- The video database is used by a large multilingual news organization to create news programming that is aired throughout the world.
- Based on the current VOA contract the hourly rate to you is $18.75.
- Two weeks of paid time off will accrue during the working hours with a 2000 hour 12-month year creating ten 8-hour days of paid time off.
- The initial 4 weeks of onsite work training is paid.

We are hiring enthusiastic, experienced mudlogging-mudlogger professionals to join our U.S. onshore family.
You will be working and living on-site, covering 12 hour shifts. A significant portion of the role is dedicated to data acquisition. You will collect, prepare, & examine drill cuttings as well as monitor gas and other drilling parameters. Communication is also an extremely important aspect of the position. The ability to effectively communicate between field and office personnel is critical.
Expected Knowledge and Experience
- Complete knowledge and experience with standard lithological descriptions of sedimentary rocks.
- Able to recognize hydrocarbon shows from cuttings alone.
- Experience in developing subsurface models while considering all drilling variables and samples.

Mud Loggers ensure efficiency, safety and cost control by providing the Client Company with a detailed analytical record of the geology, oil and gas shows, drilling and mud parameters, and related problems encountered during drilling and completion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure that suitably qualified Weatherford personnel are always present in the Mud Logging unit during well operations
Promote new techniques and activities in order to increase potential markets and stay ahead of competition. Be aware of Weatherford’s capabilities and ensure client in the field is made aware of potential services/techniques.
Perform or supervise the collection of cuttings samples, from the proper lagged depths and at the proper intervals as required for evaluation.
Wash and screen samples, divide them into correct portions, and pack them by sets for the Client, partners and trade.
Examine and describe samples as per oil industry standards and client’s specifications. Descriptions are to be performed in order for Weatherford to provide an independent evaluation of the well.
Evaluate all samples for the presence of hydrocarbon shows.
Closely monitor gas levels, lag time and drilling parameters, and report any anomalies to the appropriate persons for action.
Monitor and evaluate all data in order to identify abnormal indications of unforeseen or hazardous events, inform the relevant drilling personnel of potential dangers, indications of drilling assembly wear/failure, etc.
Assist in core recovery and description as required.
Assist in well test operations and sampling as required.
Assist the client in the control of drilling operations by inputting geological information to the best of the operator’s ability.
Establish an accurate and comprehensive Log as per client’s format.
Provide all interested parties with regular and timely reports based on geological and drilling data.
Notify well site personnel of any anticipated or observed drilling problems related to geology.
Annotate daily instrument charts clearly and correctly, and organize them for later use by the client
Update all logs requested by client on at least a daily basis
Submit daily reports concerning geological and drilling parameters to the Client representative, as well as any other requested reports or documents.
Ensure all information required to complete the final well report is identified, monitored, recorded, and available on time for inclusion into the final report.
Correctly fill out any Monthly or Weekly Report and dispatch it to the base by the first of the following month for correct Client billing. Ensure Monthly Activity report is completed correctly.
Keep in regular contact with the local base to report the current work situation and discuss possible problems in the field.
Keep in mind the basic concept of service; ensure that all tasks performed for the Client meet or exceed the customer’s and Weatherford’s standards.
Remember that satisfaction of the Client is not only a function of the service itself, but also of the way it is provided. Human relations are an essential part of the job.
Maintain the image of the Company and do not let internal problems interfere with service to the Client.
Perform regular and frequent calibration checks of gas instruments.
Perform normal maintenance and necessary repairs on all equipment, particularly sensors, and report breakdowns immediately to the appropriate persons.
Propose to Management innovative ideas for improvement of techniques and equipment used in the mud logging process. Ensure a high standard of quality for installation, operation and service of equipment.
Maintain equipment/stock inventory.
Be aware of safety regulations and procedures as specified by the Client, Weatherford, and relevant safety authorities; respect safety regulations in all circumstances.
Perform local Risk Assessments to ensure that hazardous operations are minimized, controlled or procedures are put in place to minimize the circumstances.
Maintain and clean equipment as directed.
Available to work long hours when required.
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Post Game Loggers are in charge of logging timecodes for monitoring the pace of an MLB game. Shifts and Pay: All shifts will be paid hourly. Most shifts will occur late night/overnight.
Responsibilities : Duties include, but are not limited to:
Logging durations between every game pitch.
