! We are hiring Logistics Systems Engineer to join the SMC Range and Networks (RN) SE&I Team. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.
General requirements: The successful candidate will be responsible for working with an integrated product team and various project support teams to apply sound and proven logistics and systems engineering principles and practices to the AFSCN, STAO, Cyber, and LTRS programs. The candidate will apply innovative practices to improve program efficiencies.
The Logistics engineer will also work closely with RMA teams to provide necessary artifacts to monitor and evaluate system performance. Specific requirements: The successful candidate will be responsible:
Developing and supporting Life Cycle Support Plans, procedures, guides and OIs. Assessing the current product support strategies for the programs of record and recommend improvements to these strategies. Assessing modification nomenclatures and present findings via Joint Electronic Type Designation Automated System (JETDAS) IAW:
MIL-STD-196E Regulation. Assessing new product proposals and modified product proposals for impact on operations and maintenance staff, training, qualification requirements, system life cycle costs (LCC), and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). Generating verifiable project requirements from operations and maintenance requirements. Duties: Leads engineering efforts and supervises engineering staff participating in such efforts.
Provides engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements. Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
Performs risk assessments and analyses employing modeling and simulation techniques.

Logistics Engineer - Automotive Logistics
Directs and coordinates program activities designed to provide subcontractors, management, and customer with logistics technology that ensures effective and economical support concerned for manufacturing or servicing of products, systems, or equipment;
- Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product
- Handle inventory, process orders, plan warehouse layouts and help design product packaging to maximize shipping efficiency.
- Applies the scientific and mathematical principles of engineering to the process of distributing consumer goods and services in order to build a more efficient infrastructure.
- Develops and implements program activities coordinate’s efforts of subcontractors, production departments, and field service personnel, and resolves problems in area of logistics to ensure meeting of contractual commitments.
- Familiarity with business practices as the relationship between supplier, distributor and customers.
- Compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics activities.
- Develops and initiates preparation of bulletins, and information systems to provide and supply logistics support.

Guidance and direction received:

- When assistance is required from other parts outside of the actual plant’s control
- Business development, account management, finance, loss prevention
- Hiring and restructuring / termination in certain situations
- Bachelor Degree in engineering or logistics and transportation.
- Manufacturing / logistics background in the automotive industry is preferred
- Job experience in a Tier 1 operation is beneficial
- Certification in Transportation preferred.
- Member of the American Society of Transportation & Logistics preferred (ASTL)
Problem Solving Required:
- Determining the direction the plant will take in terms of quality, cost and people
- Getting required resources to participate in the resolution of repetitive issues from planning to execution c/w follow-up
- Identify and eliminate past practices that may impact the financial well-being of the plant
- Plan and execute the concepts of lean manufacturing
- Identify business opportunities going forward
- Support the customer through integral analysis of logistical/production issues and develop corrective actions as needed
- Responsible for implementation and adherence to the SafeWork ·
- Functional responsibility to ensure the work environment is safe at all times
- Provides approval on revision / changes to the SafeWork Program as needed.
- Works with the HR Manager and the Plant Engineer to support JHSC and compliance with all regulations and policies regarding SafeWork.
