Shear Operator - 2Nd Shift
Division: Columbus McKinnon Corporation
Location: Greenwood Facility
The purpose of this position is to insure proper grade and diameter material is pulled from inventory and distributed to the shears and band saws based on information contained on work orders. In addition this position will also assist in maintaining an accurate raw material inventory. Will set up and operate manual shear, automatic shear and band saws.
Using an overhead crane to unload incoming steel and locate as needed.
Set-up and operate all equipment in the shear area used to cut material to length.
Perform and document all quality checks and shear logs for all orders.
Change or replace shear dies, saw blades and cutting tools as required to insure cut end of acceptable quality.
Assure all cut material is properly labeled before removing from the shears.
Performs other related duties as assigned
- Ability to interpret drawings and work order packets to set-up equipment and run acceptable product.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to trouble shoot and correct minor problems in this work center.
High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience
Special Position Requirements:
The employee is subject to an environment that is at time congested with product boxes, material, etc. The employee is exposed to the hazard of mobile equipment moving in close areas. High noise levels are present in most areas the employee works.
Walking, sitting, and standing as required. Handling of product as required (less than 35 lbs). Handling of dies as required (up to 40 lbs). Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position is responsible for using an overhead crane to unload and move bundles of raw material weighing up to 9,000 lbs. Ability to us overhead crane, manual and automatic shears, automatic ban saw, tape measure, calculator, hoist, and calipers.

Fixed Shear Operator
General Position Summary &
The Fixed Shear Operator reports to the Facility & Operations Supervisor, or the Terminal Operations Manager. The Fixed Shear Operator is responsible for the set up, operation, or maintenance of the fixed shear while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include the operation of one or several types of power equipment to assist in the cutting or shearing of metal. The Fixed Shear Operator should possess knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits.

Equipment & Maintenance
Install, align, and lock specified blades, hoses, belts, and other parts or fixtures and performs general clean up at the shear.

This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap as would be found throughout the scrap yard. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment as needed, must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Travel is not required for this position.
Handling multiple issues regarding safety and maintenance increases pressure. Work load may be unpredictable and pressure can be substantial during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable adaptability. Disturbances of work flow and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Operating engineers learn many of their duties from on the job practical training. Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.

Rock Climbing Wall Attendant
This is a part-time position working 15 or less hours a week.
The Rock Climbing Wall Attendant is responsible for monitoring, instructing and assisting patrons in the proper and safe use of the rock climbing and bouldering wall at the Kroc Center. This position will also conduct climbing wall and climbing gear orientation sessions, set new routes, answer patron questions, take hourly counts, inventory equipment, lead rental groups, and assist with preventative maintenance for the wall and its equipment.
ResponsibilitiesServe as the customer service representative for the rock climbing and bouldering wall by answering patrons' questions regarding equipment, proper techniques, rules and fees.Belay users, ensure proper rigging and provide safe and proper climbing wall and equipment orientations for Kroc patrons.Ensure users are wearing appropriate climbing attire and are utilizing all safety equipment appropriately.Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
High school or equivalent diploma is helpful.
Possess or obtain CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within 60 days of employment.
Belay certification or able to procure by official start date.
Previous climbing experience or experience working with a rock climbing wall facility is required. Previous experience in a customer service role.
