JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the Papa Gino’s team, the Production Machine Operator is responsible to operate and maintain the production equipment that produces and divides our signature pizza dough to be shipped to Papa Gino’s restaurants.
Accuracy, consistency and quality are paramount in the production and handling of this key ingredient, which is the foundation of the Papa Gino’s Brand. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Operates production equipment in accordance with procedures, recipes and safety standards at all times.
Ensure good proper working order, maintenance and documentation of equipment and facilities, escalating any issues to the Commissary Manager. Maintains equipment and follows a preventive maintenance schedule to proactively keep all equipment in good working order. Maintain accurate records and logs for all GMP plans and other facilities records as requested.
Ensures mixing procedures and dough dividing procedures are followed consistently and logged as required. Observes dough weights and makes sure weight is accurate. Assists in the production of Papa Gino’s pizza dough.
Rotates job assignments with fellow employees as needed. Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices and plant Quality Standards are followed. Maintains, cleans and sanitizes all dough processing equipment.
Maintains cleanliness of commissary production area including sweeping and mopping of all floors. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to maintain regular, punctual and reliable attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Ability to clearly speak, listen to and communicate with team members.
Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with all team members.
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to operate or learn to operate machinery and equipment.
High School Diploma/GED PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and push or pull up to 300 pound rolling rack. Ability to stand for several hours at a time, lift and work on feet for 8 or more hours per day.
Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include; close and distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Ability to work early morning hours before 6am.

Description: At Bama, the General Production position is expected to understand, engage and participate in the production activities in their area or position. Directly responsible for making a high quality, safe product; while minimizing scrap, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring a safe work environment and practices.
Duties: Set up, monitor and adjust to compliance the automated machinery. Measure, weigh, and record raw product data and transfer data to the SPC sheet to ensure product is consistent by all specs. Perform routine equipment repairs and assist maintenance with in-depth repairs/modifications.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out and processed correctly for area of responsibility. Participate in teams Make ongoing process improvements Understand manufacturing process and possess the ability to drive continuous improvement. Fully engage in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program; maintain and understand all equipment in area of responsibility.
Troubleshoot failures and identify corrective actions. Understand quality standards, follow those standards and knowing what to do and who to contact when some process is not functioning correctly. Be responsible for GMP's of self and others in work area. Must perform, and participate in product quality checks and make necessary corrections.
Participation in a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program. In this program, team members should participate in the process for overall cleanliness, maintenance and inspection of the equipment/area in which they are responsible to operate. Understand and utilize measurement systems and tools.
Must submit to all assessments and testing, including math/reading test and EQ assessment testing. Also display aptitude for positions based on aptitude testing and assessments. Must display effective EQ attributes such as communication skills and listening skills.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Understand manufacturing guidelines for food safety and sanitation. Experience with set-up and operation of packaging machinery.
