The Transmission & Distribution Division is looking for an Equipment Servicer to join the team. The person in this role, under close supervision, will repair and service a variety of vehicles and equipment. General guidelines exist in the form of standard operating procedures and technical manuals. Special assignments not covered by guidelines are discussed with supervisor. Personal contact is primarily with intra-departmental employees for the purpose of exchanging information.. This position will report to the Facility and Equipment Coordinator.
At various shifts, to include weekends, drives SCL vehicles and Heavy Duty On Road Equipment located at South Service Center, North Service Center, and the downtown core, including service vehicles, forklifts, trailers, or any vehicle that must be moved to the service shops or other vendor locations for servicing.
Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance, such as lubrication, oil and filter changes with the City of Seattle various shop(s).
Moves new fleet arrivals and helps prep for assignment.
Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities including materials and time used.
Maintain motor pool vehicles, ensures overall safe operating conditions.
Develop and maintain cleaning schedule to ensure cleanliness of vehicles.
Checks fluid levels. Repair or replace tires on SCL motor pool fleet vehicles and equipment.
Answers service telephone calls and records information on type of vehicle and repair as well as location.
Performs field service calls, including refueling and tire repairs, jump-starting vehicles, and battery charging.
Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of experience in general automotive and truck maintenance (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
Certification/License: Current State of Washington driver's license
3 years general automotive and truck maintenance.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
MS Word, Excel, Access and internet experience.
Experience working with automated motor pool systems.
Ability to accomplish work as part of a team in a diverse environment.
Having a CDL is highly desired or able to obtain one within 180 days after hire.

The Mechanic / Ultrasound Lubrication Specialist plays a significant role in preserving and improving the inherent reliability of plant machines and systems by delivering and supporting precise machine lubrication practices in every aspect of the lubrication function throughout the facility.
This position will assume the role of leader in lubrication excellence and is responsible for routine re-lubrication with oil and grease, lubricant contamination control practices, machine inspections and troubleshooting, automatic lubrication systems inspection and troubleshooting, and oil analysis (sample collection, handling and resolution of issues) for all lubricated mechanical systems. Requirements REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of five years working in manufacturing environment
A minimum of two years as an industrial mechanic
Meticulous with attention to detail
Experience with preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance practices
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in hydraulics, lubrication, and mechanical equipment; basic understanding of types of lubricants and application each is suited
Ability to utilize skills to improve equipment reliability

Have a strong fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and circulating systems operation, contamination control and maintenance functions.

Under the supervision of the Site Manager or designated Supervisor:

- Report irregularities and abnormal conditions and conduct the investigation of energy diversion and tamper alerts.
