Job Summary/Work Schedule
Normal Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 9 hours a day including 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.

Shipping - Packaging Assistant
The Shipping – Packaging Assistant performs the tasks associated with both mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies in the inventory control – picking process for Rapid Granulator, Inc. products. The Assistant will be required to have previous computer skills with ERP system background for inventory functions. This role requires good mechanical aptitude – understanding for the production precision parts and assemblies. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor - Team Leader and is located in our assembly plant in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Refurbish / build custom pallet to fit the machine being shipped, as needed.
· Secure the machine to the pallet via strapping/banding.
· Cover/wrap the machine with clear plastic sheeting.
· Design and build a “corral” for protection of the machine in shipment. Common dimensional (2” x 6”, 2” x 4”, 1” x 6”) lumber is used along with a chop saw and pneumatic nailers/staplers.
· Attach all required paperwork to the shipment.
· Work with truck carrier to pick-up requirement for LTL and TL shipments.
· Load the shipment onto the carrier’s trailer using a forklift or pallet jack.
· Unload shipments from LTL (Less than Truckload) and parcel (UPS, FedEx) carriers.
· Record the receipt and location of items via the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software (Jeeves).
· Store the received items in the designated locations.
· Verify and record the quantity on hand of each item received and stored (cycle count).
· Review items to be picked in the ERP software (2-3 times daily).
· Retrieve (pick) items from pallet racking and shelving. Package the items for parcel or LTL (palletize) shipment.
· Retrieve (pick) items from pallet racking and shelving as required by the ERP software for work orders. Prepare “kits” of items and forward the items to the assembly areas.
· Record the items picked in the ERP software.
· Prepare the completed/assembled Rapid Granulator machines for shipment to customer.
· Computer keyboard skills for data entry and retrieval.
· Ability to maintain accurate records of items in and out of inventory with the ERP software. This requires a consistent, sequential process. Priority changes are constant and can be distracting.
· Comfortable operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
· General carpentry skills are mandatory
· Ability to determine pallet designs based on general guidelines, the footprint of the machine being shipped, and the available lumber and tools. Pallet sizes for machines range from 3’ sq. for a 300# machine to 8’ sq. for a 17000# machine.
· Verbally report progress and problems to the team leader in a professional manner;

Qualifications and Work Experience

Set-up, maintain and operate regrind equipment and all auxiliary processes (washer, granulator, conveyors).
Monitor incoming waste material to be processed for correct identification and separation by compound type.
Perform particle size analysis of regrind materials per provided test methods.
Assign and maintain lot history documentation of all regrind material.
Monitor and maintain first in, first out staging and storage of all incoming waste and outgoing regrind materials.
Monitor and document liquid nitrogen supply and usage.
Perform line clearances and required GMP cleaning.

Complete Preventative Maintenance as required.

Cut and deliver QC samples as required.

Set-up Extruder to produce pellets as set-up in standards, and specifications.
Check the slurry contents as per standards.
Monitor extruding and pelletizing operation to standard set-up. Report any problems to Supervisor/Lead.
Auto Pellet Packaging
Set up equipment for proper labeling, weighing and tracking of pellets + Load equipment with proper totes, lids and pallets.
Remove filled pallets to proper storage location with fork truck.
Rework rejected material as required.
Inspect one tote per pallet to ensure label insert is correct.
Label pallet with proper identification

Maintain clean and organized work area, disposing of waste in proper containers.
Clean equipment at end of shift.

This training and certification are requirements in accordance with both WAC 296-24-230 and WAC 296.Ensures the capability of efficient operation of all equipment in the Wet End areas, including Raw Receiving, Tank Farm and Clarifier, by using preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, overhauling and repairing equipment to achieve Maintains work area in a clean and functional condition.Performs assigned responsibilities during Plant evacuation or other emergency situations. Ensures that all work related activities within the facility are accomplished through methods which promote safety to employees and which minimize potential impact to the community and environment in which we live. Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and procedures and Union Labor Agreement.Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in professional manner.Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational Divisional standards.Additional Key Activities:
Must be able to complete training on fall protection and must meet and maintain fall restraint requirements.
