General Utility Machine Operator (2017225)
Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor the machine operator will be responsible for the set up and operation of the assigned production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
Set up assigned equipment each day according to the posted production schedule and as required based on the product specifications. Disassemble at the close of each day for sanitation.
Complete and verify daily HACCP Paperwork
Complete assigned PM's within timeframe allotted
Centerline equipment and maintain OEE @95% or greater
Complete and Maintain Batch Reports: Process Sheets, Consumption, FG Reporting etc.
Coordinate with the Quality team to ensure testing criteria is met
Work hand in hand with Maintenance during break downs to understand equipment functions

Work with the maintenance staff to establish and implement preventative maintenance programs and best practice equipment operation methods.

Perform general housekeeping duties in production area; maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with existing policy.
Comply with organization policies including, but not limited to, safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules. Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices to comply with regulatory program requirements.
Perform and follow lock out tag out procedures
Must be able to work in a cold environment 34-45 degrees.
Must be able to communicate effectively orally and written.
Must be able to work a flexible schedules.

Required Skills
Minimum 2 years of similar work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.

We are currently seeking part time General Manufacturing Employees to grow with us! A general manufacturing position includes the opportunity to learn the printing process from the ground up and advance in a progressive environment. In this position you will assist in the creation of various well know magazines/catalogs/newspaper inserts and other related products in either our Press or Finishing areas. Finishing includes both Bindery and Material Handler (Forklift Driver) positions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Remove product from the end of the printing press or finishing machine.
Work with loose and/or completed product by stacking onto pallets, transferring to tables & placing into a collator hopper or into mail bags.
Move product/skids with a hand jack, motorized Raymond (Big Joe) lift or Forklift (training provided).
Servicing of press and finishing machines to move product throughout the plant
Maintain accurate inventory of product with the use of an on board PC and RF bar coding system
Loading and unloading of finished product and materials from semi-trailers and auto-wrapper using a forklift.
Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations.
Effectively communicate with team members.
Assist other crew members with various duties including webbing up of the press and/or special handwork in order to meet customer requests.
Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have or be able to do the following:
Must be at least 18-years of age or older
Factory, Manufacturing or other work experience where mechanical or handwork was necessary is preferred, such as laborer, machinist, assembly, bindery, mechanic, warehouse, etc.
Printing, Finishing (Bindery) or Warehouse experience is preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to write and read measurements.
Ability to read, understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
The ability to use a computer
The ability to use repetitive hand/wrist movement
Ability to lift stacks of end boards or banding strap rolls (~30 -60lbs) as needed
Ability to adjust stacker using a touch screen
Ability to use a vibrating jogging table
The ability to take stacks of loose signatures or bundles ranging (5-30 lbs.) off a pallet or conveyor up to 48" in height and transfer to table top work surface 42", and then place into a collator hopper or mail bags that potentially weigh from 5-75 lbs.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize job need.
Ability to be a team player in a fast paced, detail orientated production environment.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Job Description:
Summary/Objective
The General Machine Operator operates multiple types of manufacturing equipment including tube benders, tube lasers, presses, wash bay, etc. Candidate will utilize job trackers to manage production flow through his/her work area. Candidate will also be responsible for inspecting his/her parts for quality and maintaining a clean work area. Candidate must be experienced with blue print reading and machine operation in a manufacturing environment.

Machine Operator I General Administrative
Operates specialized machines such as door router, stair router, welder, plate cutter, table saws, planer jointer and component cutter necessary to perform such operations as routing, boring, ripsawing, cross cutting, beveling, grooving, and mitering of lumber or woodstock.
- Selects and sets proper machine control settings/part(s) as needed, (e.g, placing correct disk on saw, setting guides, etc.) and according to type of work order and specification of cut.
*Selects material to be machined (e.g., beams, headers, studs, fire blocking, plates, blocks, doors, lumber). Places woodstock on table against proper guides, and pushes stock against saw or machine for cutting.
*Measures cut stock with ruler, caliper rule or square to verify dimensions against specifications and sets proper dimensions on automated machine settings. Cuts, routes, bores, etc. the woodstock material or product (doors) according to written or computer specifications on lengths, angles and dimensions.
*Removes cut stock from machine and places on job carts and delivers carts to proper location or team member for shipment or further work.
*Maintains production count by marking completed work on correct work order and delivering paperwork to team leader or manager.
*Clean equipment, floors and work areas according to safety procedures.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus one-year (1) prior work experience and in millwork, construction or lumber industries and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six-monhts (6) prior work xperience on machines. Ability to demonstrate good mechanical aptitude and understanding of products and components used for mill production is essential.
