Federal-Mogul Powertrain is looking for an experienced Machining Supervisor to join our Piston's manufacturing facility in South Bend, IN. This person will be responsible for leading, directing and coordinating all phases of manufacturing activities for specified product lines at the shop floor level. This position reports to the Value Stream Manager in Machining with dotted line responsibility to Assembly & Finishing and Foundry Value Stream Manager and has dotted line responsibility for Foundry and Machining Supervision. Monitor machining production processes to ensure production goals/requirements are being met.
Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques that will ensure that the machining production processes will meet management expectations through utilization of Six-Sigma, Root Cause Analysis and other Lean Manufacturing problem-solving techniques.

Interpret quality and production data to ensure that the machining production process is meeting management expectations and operational objectives.
Ensure a safe work place by advising production employees on safety and good housekeeping requirements.
Monitor incoming stock from the foundry to ensure that both quality and quantity requirements are being meet.
Monitor downstream processes for any problems that may have originated during the machining process.
Monitor tooling usage to ensure that ongoing quality/production requirements can be met.
Provide leadership for all launches in your value stream including prototyping, process development and product implementation up to and including SOP.
Coordinate the installation and trial of all new processes and capital improvements.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; minimum Associates' Degree.
