5.Lays out and verifies dimensions of parts.
6.Cleans, lubricates, and maintains machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter; observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
9.Confers with other machinists to resolve machining problems and challenges to meeting production goals.
10. Performs other tasks related to the work and as assigned by the Machinist Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: machine shop theory and procedures; tools and equipment used in the course of the work; numbers, and basic math skills.

The Outside Machinist is responsible for the modification, repair, assembly and installation of various ship systems and machinery for surface ship installation and repair. Job Summary: The CNC machinist operates CNC machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operators, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
