The primary responsibilities of the Tape Laying Machine Operator are to operate a variety of magnetic tape on overlay laying machines in the production process. These machines can include the roll to roll and roll to sheet mechanisms, various models and manufactures of machines.
Machine Operator duties are primarily general machine operation, basic troubleshooting, department operations, and daily departmental duties. This position is best fitted for operators wanting to learn new operations, multi-tasks, and build within their position. Advancement opportunities for the self driven candidate. To perform a variety of highly repetitive bench work operations, feed/operate/ manual/automatic cycle machines, perform operations necessary and packing system for the manufacture of finished tape rules, and highly repetitive packing operations at a bench or conveyor.
Integrated assembly and packing systems, hand tools, tape dispenser, stamps, simple gages, bench and air fixtures, air screwdrivers, rubber stamps, labeling.
Perform assembly and packing operations at work center stations of assembly and packing systems. This will include loading cartridge, cartridge caps, center hub, operating automatic machine and automatic welding and inspection.
Lay out tapes and inspect on assembly station. Winding the tapes onto the cartridge and assembling the belt clips and screws. Pack finished product at packing station, load product to packing station or pack into appropriate containers; insert printed matter, tape and label product or boxes as required.
Place parts on bench fixture or die and activate machine to perform operations, if not on automatic cycle. Remove completed work into appropriate container if not ejected automatically or stack on bench or skid. Set aside obvious defects as scrap and record.
Pack product in appropriate containers or load rotary tables of packing machines; insert printed matter, tape and labels on boxes as required. May perform simple gauging as directed to maintain quality. May perform quality checks on performance of the tape measure and record results, this will include first piece inspection, hourly inspection and all other inspections as deemed necessary to a quality product.
Receive tape rules and inspect, disassemble, replace or repair parts as specified such as blade, spring, and hook, necessary to put back into first quality condition. Maintain own supply of parts and make out rejection slips as required. Load parts in hoppers as required.
Clear jams in system, reset stations for operations after fault. Perform necessary handling requirements of the job and maintain a clean and orderly work area. You may be required to perform other duties as directed.
Tape And Reel Operator
Our client is looking for a 2nd shift Tape and Reel Operator.
You would be responsible for set up, operation and monitoring machines (tape and reel) at the machine or using a computer. Must be able to set up and operate manual and automated equipment and perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for making adjustments to the settings and ensuring that the machine is running properly and applying material correctly.
1 3 years of related manufacturing experience with automated equipment preferred - tape and reel

The MRI Supervisor is responsible for oversight of operations for the MRI departments at Hoag Newport Beach Main Campus, 510 Superior and the Advanced Technology Pavilion (ATP). This individual will also be responsible for MRI Safety Operations at all Hoag locations that provide MRI services and works in collaboration with the Radiology Compliance Manager to provide MRI Safety Training to all applicable staff throughout the organization.
MRI Supervisor Job Duties:
Responsible for the department's operations including but not limited to, budgetary guidelines maintains and evaluates new equipment, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, review of department policy and procedures, quality assurance functions, equipment maintenance, completes and passes ACR accreditation and maintains department inspection ready.

Are you an engineering grad student seeking an exciting opportunity for summer 2018? This is a great internship for someone to learn and work with our head disk interface reliability group.
The internship will be located at our recently opened Fremont Research Center and reports to the Managing Technologist for the Recording Media Operations Organization. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, working on projects that include:
Develop metrology to evaluate reliability performance of Heat-assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) media.
The learning of characterization techniques and assist with the development of new metrology tools and support/improvement of existing characterization techniques based on High field VSM and High field MOKE magnetometer.
Develop novel metrology technique to characterize key magnetic properties and its distribution, as well as temperature dependence for HAMR media.
Other responsibilities include comparing measurements results with modeling results to understand the underlying media Physics.
Interns typically work Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. The hours are subject to change with or without notice at the sole discretion of Seagate.
Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related field.
Available summer 2018 starting in May or June and returning to school in fall.
