The person hired as the flexible packaging Business Development Manager will engage with global business teams and external partners, including end customers, bag makers, converters, and machine builders, to identify and prioritize market opportunities to accelerate sales of 3M's new products in the flexible packaging market.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Participate and present in professional associations, organizations, tradeshows and facilitate engagement with product teams.
Identify and prioritize market and account opportunities at key brand owner and converter accounts

Role description &
Sets up and operates tape wrap machines – CNC or manual controlled.
Follows established planning or procedures;
Sets wrap angle, determines axis points to set machine start location, enters offset value,
Demonstrated understanding of machine code and related motion to evaluate movement, controls, heat/cooling during wrap operation, to form a solid billet. Evaluates tape-tensioning to ensure proper tape placement, heat and pressure controls based on width of material used in the wrapping process.
Must understand machine fault codes and related mechanical/electrical relationship as it relates to the operation of the machine.
Makes operator controlled repairs as required.
Must have a total understanding of machine operation mode of SFM (surface feet per minute) versus manual operation and be able to operate the machine from the panel view or keyboard as required by process.
Works with several types of phenolic materials.
Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.
Must be willing to work on a monthly rotating shift.
Must be able to operate Autoclave cure, PLC system
High School diploma or equivalent required

SAMPLE WORK PROCEDURE
Uses specification sheets to determine proper amount of insulation.
Uses variety of hand or machine tape processes to apply insulation.
Uses sleeving cutter and insulation cutter to cut material.
Uses coil gauge to check thickness of insulation.
Spot checks coil dimensions using coil gauge and micrometer.
Directs completed coils to the next appropriate workstation.
Follows all safety rules and regulations and participates in safety training.
Performs housekeeping duties.
Performs other routine duties as directed by supervisor.
Works without supervision.

Summary/General Job Description/Mission: Assist Engineer/Scientist/Manufacturing in all aspects of tape manufacturing and development to meet market needs. This involves producing product, samples per plan, product testing and characterization with minimal guidance.
Responsibilities Related to the Job:
Ability to work in a Cleanroom Environment.
Batch formulas, process into products, perform applicable tests, create lot records, communicate results and observations to the Teams and perform any necessary adjustments.
Perform laboratory work from development and scale up of processes through production for electronic packaging products as assigned.
Operate manual, pneumatic and automated equipment.
Become proficient in operation of appropriate manufacturing equipment and test instruments.
Upon training, be proficient following documented procedures to perform the following manufacturing operations: operation of ball mills, air pressure feed equipment, coating/casting machines to support binder & tape slurry, testing and handling of tape, as well as shaping, packing and production control technician duties.
Prepare finished goods for shipment.
Maintain and enter data accurately into multiple software programs to organize, analyze, and record work.
Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, manufacturing consumables, finished products.
Practice good housekeeping, organization, and safety in the laboratories.
Identify and use safety labels on product containers.
Understand and comply with all documented and documentation requirements.
Familiarize yourself with and practice documented quality system procedures and company policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
Strong ability to multitask in a continuous production environment.
Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
1-3 years' manufacturing experience preferably in a laboratory environment
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and expend up to 8 hours per day standing and walking in the lab, and have good hearing and vision.
Must be able to give short verbal reports of work.
Must function well in a team manufacturing environment.
