Mailroom Supervisor (12319)
The Mailroom Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, leading, directing, motivating, and developing a team of Pre-Sort/Sort associates. The supervisor will coordinate work tasks and align staff with business needs to ensure accuracy in shipment, receipt, inventory, and internal movement of mail for Globe Life. The incumbent will also be charged with building strong relationships with business partners to meet organizational goals and fostering an environment that optimizes productivity.
Supervise team of 8-10 Pre-Sort/Sort associates and oversee daily operations to ensure achievement of performance/productivity standards including postal deadlines
Assess, prioritize, and manage daily mail volume and delegate tasks for even distribution of work
Ensure claims are accurately and efficiently sorted into correct sort batch based on claim type
Document and maintain records of internal movement of certified/priority mail for traceability
Coordinate necessary recounts of mail inventory to reconcile with Scanning unit inventory when discrepancies are identified
Maintain general ledgers for P.O. box accounts and postage meters to ensure sufficient funding to meet mail volume
Process billing invoices from Pitney Bowes, LSO, and USPS to submit to management for approval
Ensure mailroom equipment/systems are functioning properly and partner with IT, facilities, and external service technicians for resolution of issues
Ensure each associate is equipped with the tools, knowledge and resources to be successful in their role while also recognizing training gaps and opportunities for retraining
Provide constant feedback to associates and counsel on matters of performance, attendance, and/or conduct
Utilize effective written and oral communication to respond professionally and with a sense of urgency to escalated issues

Write value-based annual performance appraisals and conduct effective colleague performance discussions
Support organizational training initiatives and ensure staff is updated on mandatory role-appropriate training
Complete monthly/adhoc reports with data interpretation to identify trends and issues to facilitate management in strategic decision making
Develop contingency plans to meet objectives during challenging circumstances (i.e. staffing shortages, high work volumes, system implementation, etc.)
Partner with Scanning and Claims units on business projects, concurrently with daily responsibilities
Partner with manager to retain staff and build bench strength within the organization to achieve overall turnover goals
Interview, hire, and mentor new Pre-Sort/Sort associate

Responsible for the daily processing of outgoing mail at the work location.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Ensures proper functionality of conveyor to the mail sortation system.
Basic mechanical ability to adjust mail sortation system issues
Review primary sort for ongoing activity changes
Complete mailroom audits for accuracy
Lifts, moves, and drops mail bags weighing up to 60 lbs.
Match multiple quantity orders.
Processes and adheres mailing labels with appropriate mail rates. Also produces daily manifests and completes all necessary forms and paperwork.
Basic system troubleshooting to include contacting the appropriate technical support for resolution– run diagnostics to determine if it is a Harland Clarke or supplier issue.

Communicate effective verbally and in written format with outside organizations such as FedEx, USPS, SmartMail both by telephone and in person
Audits the bag and scale for accuracy
Work with management to identify and resolve delayed in delivery issues

Prints out label from computer
Matches printout label to boxed label to ensure correctness

Gannett Publishing Services, located at The Daily Advertiser, is recruiting for part-time Inserters. This is an entry level position performing post press related packaging tasks.
Perform general material handling duties including working on post-press equipment.
Perform general housekeeping and safety maintenance including positioning pallets, post office equipment and other equipment as needed.
Good verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and proven ability to be a self-starter a plus. Must be able to push and pull carts loaded with newspapers with assistance and repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing up to 35 pounds.
Prior production or related experience preferred.
