Under general supervision, assists Maintenance Mechanic in performing a variety of tasks in support of plant construction and maintenance activities. Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities.
Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. May perform tasks associated with a specific trade as directed in order to deliver a maintenance contract. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed. This classification may be used for personnel assigned to either project or corporate building/facilities maintenance. Typically requires 2-5 years of related experience.

The Lift Maintenance Helper will work under close supervision to maintain, repair, operate and clean lift equipment under the direction of maintenance mechanics. Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist Lift Mechanics during the summer with preventative maintenance and special projects.

Prior lift operation knowledge and/or experience is preferred

- A high school diploma or GED
- Some level of mechanical knowledge
- Ability to learn machine repair
- Ability to learn and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals and manufacturers’ specifications
- Experience in operating all “tools of the trade” such as mills, lathes, cutting equipment, metal shear and brake.

In Shop Engine Technician, Mechanic Helper 2Nd Shift
Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision
Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools
Disassemble and clean engines and /or engine components
Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens
Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor

To provide basic maintenance, repair, installation, cleaning and modification of equipment, facilities and grounds under the supervision of more experienced personnel; to participate in training to advance to Maintenance Mechanic I and Maintenance Mechanic II.
Trainees are expected to complete training in 12 - 24 months, and may be promoted to Maintenance Mechanic I when training is successfully completed, based on the needs of the company.
