Scale House Operator
This position is responsible for operating machinery and maintaining production flow while also maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
These positions are responsible for the proper weighing of truck loads consisting of live chickens, feed ingredients, and offal trucks. Will be required to weigh all live chicken trucks, feed ingredient trucks, and offal trucks for the plant.
Must be a certified weigh master (NCDA) and follow federal, state, and Tyson Foods, weighing procedures. Responsible for calculating weight tickets, grower bird weights, and shrink. Required to keep line up sheets for plant receiving and responsible for checking live haul shed for properly working fans and foggers.
Must maintain accurate live weights of inbound loads to match with unloaded trailers. Must be able to operate digital scales. Must keep accurate records of trucks to each farm . Helpful to know general area of farm locations. Must be able to drive yard tractor and spot trucks.
Positions will be for 2ND shift (nights). This facility may run 7 days a week, Sunday-Saturday. Must be able to be licensed by North Carolina State as a Certified Weigh Master.
Must have active Driver's License and be able to obtain company license. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to read, write and have a good basic knowledge of math.
Must have basic computer skills- Excel, Outlook, Word Bending, pulling, twisting, turning, and good hand eye foot coordination is required. Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout Tagout). Must be able to comply with OSHA standards

The Scale House Operator manages scale house operations, checks in drivers, and handles related paperwork.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for operating truck scale ensuring that all incoming and outgoing trucks are weighed, documented and load information is verified.
Responsible for maintaining various office/departmental reports and logs as assigned.
Works closely with distribution and/or warehouse supervisor. Is responsible for keeping the supervisor informed of all incoming trucks and traffic flow.
Directs truck drivers to correct dock doors/area.
