Refrigeration And A/C Service Technician Senior
Troubleshoots, repairs and/or maintains the air conditioning/heating system in order to control the temperature and humidity in buildings with central air systems. This is done by maintaining air and oil bath filters; electronic and pneumatic controls; adding freon gas to obtain prescribed operating pressure, adding oil; observing pressure and vacuum readings; adjusting controls; setting thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical controls and overhauling compressors; using volt-ohmmeters, manometers and other tools as well as testing devices of the trade.
Daily inspections of air conditioners, chillers, refrigeration and heating equipment; i.e. motors, compressors, condensing units, evaporators, etc. in order to evaluate the functional operation of the system and make any necessary adjustments. This is done by observing units to detect malfunctions and insure cooling or heating is taking place, checking compressors, air handlers, condensing units, pneumatic controls; examining coolant lines for damage and accumulation of frost; attaching gauges to verify conformance of unit to temperature, pressure, BTU and other specifications by having knowledge of A/C, refrigeration and heating systems and operating specifications and the ability to use testing tools, i.e. volt-meters and gauges. Maintains the chemical treatment in the cooling tower water in order to keep the chemical content at prescribed levels.
Repairs and maintains walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, refrigerated drinking fountains and refrigerators in order to keep them in optimal operating conditions. This is done by reading work orders; observing the functioning of components, i.e. control fans, condensers, evaporators and compressors, identifying and replacing defective parts and reassembling the equipment.
Installs, replaces and modifies A/C, refrigeration and heating systems in order to bring them into proper operation. This is done by putting motors, compressors, condensing units, evaporators and other components in place following blueprints and design specifications; connecting the equipment to duct work, refrigerant lines and electrical power sources and charging the system with refrigerant.
Completes work orders by recording the time and materials using DFM CMMS program on each job. May supervise trade helpers in performing unskilled and semi-skilled tasks.
Requires two years experience in refrigeration-air/conditioning repair work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Requires a valid driver's license. Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor such as lifting. Must be able to climb ladders and work on scaffolding.
Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification. Strongly prefer journeyman level or 4 years of refrigeration air conditioning work.
Starting hourly rate $15.03

Minimum of a Mechanical/Technical Certification or Associate of Science Degree in Microelectronics, Electronic Engineering Technology or related hands-on maintenance experience.
Manufacturing Equipment Technicians perform operational tasks, preventative maintenance and/or assist in troubleshooting to determine problems in equipment used in the manufacturing process. Preventative Maintenance on production equipment may require mechanical aptitude, walking up to 3 miles in a 12hour shift, lifting up to 35lbs, the use of job-specific fixtures, basic hand tools, and airline supplied respirators.
Candidates with 3 or more years of Military experience in Mechanics/Electronics/Avionics training/Automotive including ability to demonstrate basic knowledge in mechanical repair, schematic/wiring diagram reading, mechanical/electronic systems troubleshooting and maintenance, repairing and troubleshooting mechanical/electronic equipment down to a component using available schematics, technical data and test equipment/basic tools will also be considered.
You may conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect data or assist in process development. Both Operations and Maintenance functions require a proficient level of multi-tasking and basic computer skills. Work assignments are semi-routine in nature and the work is performed within defined parameters.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to read, comprehend, and execute complex instructions.

In order to successfully complete the Pharmacy Technician Training program and maintain guaranteed employment with UW Health as a pharmacy technician, program participants must:
Achieve an overall course score of at least 80% for all didactic and simulation material
Achieve at least an 80% on the pharmacy calculations and pharmacology sections
Successfully complete a media fill test and achieve an 80% on the corresponding course material
Successfully complete all designated experiential competencies
Sign an Employee Agreement committing to work for UW Health Pharmacy for at least 24 months or reimburse the full or prorated cost of the program ($3,400).

This position may require the handling, storing, and managing of hazardous waste and this employee shall comply with all applicable state and federal laws. This person must successfully complete the hazardous waste management training program within six months of their employment or assignment should this be the case. Such an employee must not work in unsupervised positions until they have successfully completed the hazardous waste management training requirements, and must take part in an annual review in addition to the initial training. This training program includes classroom instruction and on-the-job training to ensure they perform their duties in compliance with the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act,(RCRA). The Merial hazardous waste management-training program includes all the following elements:
All departmental managers and supervisors shall successfully complete training in hazardous waste management, and shall provide hazardous waste management training to his or her department's personnel. Supervisors and managers will ensure that original documentation of such training shall be placed in the employee file located in the Human Resources Department (HRD) and with a copy of the training documentation submitted to the Health, Safety, and Environmental Department (HSE).
The training program includes hazardous waste management procedures, which instructs facility personnel hazardous waste management procedures (including contingency plan implementation) relevant to the positions in which they are employed.
At a minimum, the training program is designed to ensure that facility personnel are able to respond effectively to emergencies by familiarizing them with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and other emergency systems, where applicable.
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities:
Minimum of High School graduate or equivalent.
6-12 months of related experience.
Bachelor of Science in Biology or related field.
1 year of related experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

To perform appliance service, including repair and installation of appliances and other related functions to support gas distribution and service operations in a safe, customer-oriented manner.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Field Operations Supervisor
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Repair and adjust residential, commercial and industrial appliances and equipment to ensure efficient operation.
Install appliance (including heating and air conditioning equipment and water heaters), meters, regulators and control systems to comply with code specifications.
Locate and repair gas leaks at customer's premises to assure safe delivery of natural gas.
Check and repair or replace gas meters and regulators to assure accurate registration of gas usage and continuous service to customers.
Complete recordkeeping associated with service and repair functions to ensure an accurate information system is maintained.
Operate company vehicle and maintains parts inventory and tools according to company standard and policies to ensure the delivery of safe and efficient service.
Perform other related tasks as apparent or assigned, including but not limited to leak survey work, line locating, foreign construction work, storekeeping, meter reading, chart changing, transporting appliances and equipment, and fleet and facilities maintenance to ensure efficient operation of the work unit.
Participate in regulated and non-regulated company marketing programs.
- Advise and assist other employees on-the-job to provide technical expertise in the field.
- Previous experience working with residential and commercial HVAC or appliance repair customers preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate Degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration preferred.
