Monday - Thursday (Days)
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Operates winding machine; operation includes welding, winding and test specified turns of wire onto a resistor sub-assembly to produce a specified resistance value.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Receives capped ceramic sub-assemblies, wire, and production orders from Material Handler.
Turns on machines and computers.
Places correct wire on spindle and thread through machine.
Enters correct winding parameters and order information into the computer (includes wire width, value, tolerance and thickness) and ohms per foot of the wire.
Loads trays/reels of capped ceramic sub-assemblies into each.
Works with various winding machines, winding different part types and sizes and various wire sizes.
Inspects parts on a random basis.
Monitors machines for failures and makes proper adjustments.
Unloads trays of wound parts.
Re-trays parts when necessary.
Completes necessary paperwork.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Three months to one year training in the application of a range of complex or automated machinery, equipment and processes.
Training in the application and operation of a range of complex or automated machinery, equipment and processes or in the application of practical and shop mathematics together with the use of specifications, drawings, or plans.
Skills / Certifications
Requires the use of judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances surrounding individual processes or operations and in the determination of actions to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practices.
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in performance of duties.
Light physical effort required.
Works regularly with light weight objects and/or automated controls.
Excellent close vision (natural or corrected), fine motor skills/manual dexterity is required.
Good working conditions.
Occasional exposure to one or more disagreeable elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, moisture or oil.
Heatset Winder Operator
Work safely with complete adherence to all safety procedures.

Maintain the equipment and keep free of lint or dirt.
Maintain a clean work area with materials well organized, using compressed air to blow lint out of the machine at least once during the shift.
Keep supervisor informed of any problems or quality issues, helping to minimize on-going defects.
Demonstrate dependability and consistent, punctual attendance for all work assignments.
Observe and comply with all EF policies and contribute to the EF culture of a high performance workplace.
Superba tunnel, winder, and accumulator process tasks:
Compare the Specification Sheet with the labels at the beginning of each shift and at each product changeover to ensure that all specs are being followed exactly as described on the spec sheet.
Verify that each tube of yarn produced from the winder is compliant with the Specifications Sheet.
Load empty tubes into the Winder, ensuring that the magazine is filled with good quality paper tubes.
Separate and straighten yarn bundle into the thread path from the Accumulator to the Winder
With the air splice tool, join any broken ends, but if the air splice tool hose does not reach, tie a weavers knot with no tail, being sure to restart the machine as quickly as possible
Monitor the thread path for crossed yarns, stopping the winder to correct and assure run ability
Ensure the removal of all stretched or defective yarn from the packages before restarting the winder to avoid streaking the carpet in tufting.
Stack the finished packages as configured on the Specifications Sheet.
Maintain and use tools of the job properly:
Scissors and holster
Snips and/or ring knife
Winder thread comb
Standing more than 90% of shift, moving up and down stairs and throughout the creel area.
Must be able to crouch down and stand to reach posts and tubes of creel rack ranging from 1' to 6.5' high.
Must be able to manually lift and control packages of yarn that weight up to 12 pounds.
Must be able to push a cart loaded with yarn through the creel with a maximum weight of 450 pounds.
High school graduate or GED desired, not required
Must understand instructions in English and respond appropriately
Schedule will be night swing shift (8pm-8am)

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime under the non-exempt FLSA classification for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.

This role will utilize a person's manual testing expertise to create test plans from scratch, develop estimates for QA work required. This person will also be involved in performing the execution of test cases and test scripts as well as reviewing the test cases/scripts/work of other testers on the team.
This Manual Tester will need to utilize their SQL query skills in order to effectively test various web applications that include many integrations.
