Works under close supervision and is responsible for using vibro-peen and elctro-etch equipment to properly mark parts, for identification purposes, as required by the customer. May assist in deburring parts and other duties as assigned by perforing machine and hand finishing techniques to smooth and blend rough components into finished products.
High school diploma or equivalent with 0-1 years of related experience. Post high school coursework or professional certification preferred.
Specifications for Parts Mark:
a) 1 to 2 years experience and/or demonstrated the ability to use vibro-peen and elector-etch equipment to mark parts.

Laser Marker Operator
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate a laser marker to make identification data on products prior to shipment.
Program and set up machine; operate machine to check program for accuracy prior to using.
Figure x-y coordinates to properly position parts for correct identification location. As necessary, make up fixtures to hold parts to be marked.
Make up rubber stamps as substitute for laser marking as requested. Use vibratool to mark metal tags for attachment to castings as required.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual conditions to proper supervision.
Follow prescribed safety regulations. Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Perform related duties, as assigned.
Must know and follow all departmental and company safety rules.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Good in mathematics, Ability to read blueprints and to understand specifications.
Know how to use standard measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, electronic calculator, etc.
At least 1 year of clerical work.
Light physical effort, lifting up to 50LBs. Considerable walking and standing.

Based on customer requirements, follow directions on blueprints, operation sheets, set-up sheets, etc. and mark parts using dotpeen, vibropeen or electroetch marking instruments. Ink marking or ink stamping also performed to customer requirements. For larger, heavier parts, handheld dotpeen machine is used.
Inspect parts to ensure marking meets customer requirements per blueprint, operation sheets, or set-up sheets. Travelers and Inspection Method Sheets (IMS) should be referenced.
Inspect parts for visual defects and red marks left behind by previous inspector. Red marks indicate that a defect had been spotted, but was corrected and should therefore be removed.
Make stencils for the marking equipment. Stencils are typically used only 3-4 times before discarding.
Maintain log books as required by customer and Barnes Aerospace. Log books contain information such as order numbers, serial numbers, dates parts are marked, etc.
Learn and adhere to required safety standards and procedures.
Maintain a clean work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set-up and operate marking machines
Mark customer parts via methods of electro, vibro, dot matrix and grit blasting marking machines
