Reporting to the Market Research Manager, the Market Research Analyst I will work on both qualitative and quantitative market research projects that may include methodology design, sample planning, questionnaire development, programming surveys, interviewing customers, interpreting/analyzing data, and formulating reports based upon the research findings under the direction and guidance of the Market Research Manager.
To accomplish this task, the Market Research Analyst I works alongside the Market Research Manager and business clients to understand, define and document the overarching business objectives. The Market Research Analyst I may also be responsible for presenting the findings and making recommendations to the clients.
The Market Research Analyst I will be responsible for drawing from various sources, such as consumer/customer research, syndicated databases, competitive information sources and internal resources to develop insights that provide competitive advantages to Ulta Beauty.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with the Market Research Manager determining research methodologies for ad hoc studies utilizing qualitative research including focus groups, phone or in-store interviews with current Ulta Beauty guests and/or non-Ulta Beauty guests and/or quantitative research including targeted Ulta Beauty customer email surveys, gen pop consumer surveys, etc.
Attending meetings with the Market Research Manager and business clients to understand business needs, learning outcomes and the overall study objectives.
Designing surveys, interview guides, or other data collection instruments and determining the appropriate sample based on respondent targeting/selection criteria in partnership with Ulta Beauty's CRM team.
Programming and testing surveys using Ulta Beauty's survey platform
Interpreting and analyzing quantitative data using Ulta Beauty's analysis software
Creating and reviewing reports based on research results
Occasionally presenting results to the business clients that include action-oriented decision-making
Bachelors or advanced degree in business, marketing or related field
1-2 years' experience in market research or consumer insights
Retail industry experience is a plus
Expertise in understanding different quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
Capable of managing project schedules and deadlines that run simultaneously
Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
Ability to interact with Ulta Beauty customers

Market Research Analyst (Corporate And Political)

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a Market Research Analyst (Corporate and Political). The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and problem solver. They are creative, intellectually curious, and have an interest in translating data into actionable insights. They are also comfortable working with numbers, detail oriented, and possess strong oral and written communication skills. In addition, they are able to grasp new concepts quickly, and are proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
What You'll Do:
The Market Research Analyst (Corporate and Political) reports to the Associate or Director and is responsible for assisting with the execution and implementation of custom qualitative and quantitative market research projects. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to: conducting background research, drafting proposals, writing survey questionnaires, analyzing data results, creating topline summaries, developing and enhancing presentations and reports, and proofreading client deliverables. They work closely with the field management and data processing teams to ensure interviews/surveys are accurate, consistent, and completed on time.
What You'll Need:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Market-Research, Political Science, or related field.
- 1-2 years of work experience in marketing, communications, consulting, market research, is preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced/high-stressed environment, and can meet tight deadlines with limited supervision.
- Is detail-oriented and can work on multiple projects at a time
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)

Greater China Market Research Analyst
Responsible for performing research and providing insights regarding the supply and demand market, inventory research, market trends, supply-chain research, competitors, potential and existing customers, etc. focused on Greater China market.
- Assisting with competitive research, marketing performance measurement and reporting.
- Perform extensive market research.
- Determine brand perceptions and reputations.
- Expanding upon new lead lists by visiting carrier, vendor, and association websites to find new leads.
- Working with the Marketing team, Sales team and Analyst team with all aspects of lead generation initiatives including data sets management
- Identify positive financial outcomes to increase profitability.
- Create databases and capture market data.
- Assisting in archiving prospect updates, activities, and competitive information focused on supply
- Helping cost management with reporting and data facilitation
- Keeping current on web browsing techniques that will make duties more efficient
- Performing other tasks on projects as needed/assigned
- Bachelor's or higher degree, or its equivalent
- Must be able to do all of these tasks above in both English and Chinese
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Fluent in written and spoken Chinese
