Evaluate Voya's investment strategies relative to competition in terms of performance, process, and portfolio positioning using a wide variety of industry resources. Provide comprehensive analysis on investment performance relative to the market, benchmark, and peers.
Craft and produce comprehensive competitive analysis reports relative to market and peers. Tailor depth, breadth, and output according to internal client, audience and delivery method.
Assist in the research and analysis of the markets in which Voya Investment Management operates to identify and evaluate industry and investment product trends, existing and emerging competitors, sales opportunities, and other factors affecting the business environment.
Ongoing review of syndicated research, industry databases and publications, internet and other sources for industry and competitive information including performance, new fund filings, manager, product and strategy changes, search activity. Manage packaging and distribution of regular updates to business partners.
Some investment related experience desired (including Internships) within an asset manager or other investment-related field.
Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to combine investment knowledge and technical expertise to produce effective results.

Market Research Analyst
The purpose of this position is to develop a deep understanding of the Industry and our business operations within the marketplace. The Market Research Analyst demonstrates this understanding in the research, synthesis and distribution of information that supports business operations across all banners.
A successful Market Research Analyst is resourceful and takes initiative in researching topics such as trends in technology and/or marketing, as well as customer behavior including life stage and/or generational and ethnic considerations.
This role is especially focused on gathering and analyzing information on our competitors in the marketplace.
Respond to internal requests for research and analysis using existing databases and tools while leveraging industry knowledge.

Produces analytical solutions at System and Network level to support the strategic plan, business development, growth activities, strategic performance, and innovative initiatives. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Director, Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research, perform complex analytical, statistical, and programming tasks required for the provision of information to the college community via written reports, tables, graphics, oral presentations, and a variety of computer-mediated formats. Collaborate with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and external agencies on research projects for planning, decision-making, evaluation, and accountability.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The research analyst will support the San Diego-Imperial Region's Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research.
The research analyst is responsible for performing quantitative and qualitative analyses on Labor Market Information (LMI) and programmatic data (e.g., Cal-PASS Plus LaunchBoard); developing actionable and meaningful recommendations; and producing data visualizations. The research analyst will assess the implications of research findings for policy and practice, and provide technical assistance to the region by responding to data requests, presenting LMI, providing LMI training, and managing research projects.

1.Extract, verify, compile and format data from college databases and other sources for planning, decision-making, evaluation, and accountability purposes. Analyze data for trends, perform statistical analyses, and prepare comprehensive reports, including local and online presentations. (E)

Deliver solid fluctuation analysis of operational performance (budget to actual, period over period, and forecast to actual) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Run, consolidate, and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports from supporting tools and applications
Work closely with headquarters finance teams for annual budgeting and monthly forecasting within required reporting timelines
Engage with operational and organization levels on procurement and accounts payable activities supporting budgeting and monthly forecasting
Use data analysis and modeling skills to guide and develop investment plans, identify new opportunities, and create and manage key performance metrics regarding financial requirements and KPIs
Provide operational coordination, support, and consultation for the corporate demand generation team

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Lead Market Research Analyst (LMRA) is expected to build and maintain an exceptionally strong institutional knowledge base about our investment strategies and provide superior competitive and product research and analysis to global client facing professionals. Analyses and identifies trends related to the strategic positioning of TRP products versus our competitors across various markets for our senior external facing professionals. Independently prepares analysis and recommendations conducted through a quantitative and qualitative perspective. The analysis requires an in-depth understanding of the current competitive landscape, related industry trends, TRP's institutional product set, and MPT stats. These analyses and recommendations are used by Sales, Client Service, Consultant Relations, Portfolio Specialists, and Portfolio Managers to support the gathering and retention of assets. Because of the nature of the markets, data may not be readily available through these types of mainstream analytical systems, in which case the analyst will be required to identify additional sources of data to complete analysis. Wherever possible, the analyst will be accountable for identifying appropriate analytical systems to complete their research. The analyst will be accountable for making the case for purchase to senior management of any relevant systems not currently contracted to TRP.
Conducts and compiles research and produces summaries of key competitors' products on a monthly and quarterly basis. The competitor set will vary by product and country so the analyst working in conjunction with market facing associates, will be required to identify and analyze the relevant competitors. Compares competitor trends and analyzes impact on TRP products. Manages projects and Ad Hoc requests from sales and client service professionals for competitor and product research to assist in the sales and service process. Requires the LMA to fully understand the objective, independently conduct analysis, and prepare findings in a user-friendly format for the client facing associate, often under tight time constraints.
Market Research Projects – Responsible for completing research projects as directed by GIS Senior Management and Investment Management. After a high level overview of the project is provided by the senior manager, the LMRA is responsible for all aspects of the research project including identifying and validating data sources, identifying the scope of the research plan to meet defined objectives and ensuring the project meets objectives through periodic touchpoints with the senior manager. The analysis requires an in-depth understanding of the current competitive landscape, related industry trends, and TRP's product set. The LMRA analyst will also be required to present the research to senior management and respond to questions and follow-up inquiries.
Identifies and assesses trends within the mutual fund and institutional investment management industries and shares compelling/analytical rationale behind recommendations. The quantitative analysis utilises sophisticated analytical systems such as eVestment, Zephyr, Morningstar Direct, Callan/Russell/Mercer consulting databases, and other portfolio analytic systems.
Market Research and Planning Projects – work with GIS marketing colleagues on projects including new product research and background for road-show presentations.
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related work experience
Outstanding analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative through the understanding of risk statistics, style analysis, and correlation analysis.
Strong attention to detail.
Prior research project management experience
Software and Database skills - MS Office, Zephyr, Morningstar Direct, Lipper FERI, eVestment, Bloomberg, PSN, MMD, Callan/Russell/Mercer databases.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience communicating financial matters
Discipline to manage large volumes of projects versus tight deadlines
