Position Summary and Responsibilities
We are looking for the temporary assistance of an entry level Product Finisher for our Marking Room/Cycling department.
Responsibilities:
Product Finisher will be marking relays using electronic equipment, small table top fixtures, stencils, and electrolyte solution to etch markings onto parts.
Operator will also be trained to load and test relays on relay cycling equipment.
Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks, always keeping safety and quality protocols in mind
Verifies quality and quantity of parts produced.
Operator must be willing to cross trained in other functions of the manufacturing area.
Other non-essential duties may apply.
Qualifications
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED), preferred
Must be able to apply common sense to read, understand and interpret drawings/procedures.
Will train, related experience a plus
Must have good oral and written communications skills to keep Lead/Supervisor informed of progress and issues.
Must be able to work with small parts. Ability to use small tools (tweezers and scissors)
Must know basic math and computer skills to make daily data entries for labor hours and inventory control
Able to work with microscope
Will occasionally need to stand/walk/talk/reach with hands and arms/stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, push/pull/visually distinguish colors/carry or lift less than 10 lbs/work near moving mechanical parts/be exposed to vapors, airborne particles or possible chemicals (safely below occupational exposure limits).
Will frequently need to hear/ work in a wet or humid environment or be in contact with moving mechanical equipment
Will continuously be required to sit/use hands to handle or feel/need to use close vision and adjust focus accordingly

Responsibilities
The incumbent supervises inmate workers in the operations of the UNICOR factory’s laundry and clothing room. The factory is a service oriented facility, providing a diverse range of laundry services.
These services include: laundry, dry cleaning, sewing, alterations, and embroidery.Incumbent is responsible for the supervision of the daily operation of large capacity digital or computerized laundry equipment and the preventive maintenance and repairs required to maintain equipment in accordance with Bureau policy and safety regulations. The incumbent will be responsible for the ordering and purchasing of all material/equipment needed to perform assigned projects.Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. Must be able to pass Airport and Military background checks to obtain access to work areas
Works with manager and crew members to correctly apply pavement marking materials at airports and military installations.
Experienced with powered painting and removal machinery (Graco Line Laser painting machines and Smith SPS10 grinders or similar)
Experienced with pavement marking layout and application processes.
Ability to read and follow plans and blue prints.
Communicates and works with the Project Manager and customers to establish a work plan, staffing, and flow for each phase of project.
Confers with Crew to outline the work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, as well as planning with the Customer for proper phasing.
Provides awesome constant and direct communication with Project Manager as well as follow up and courtesy calls to customers as the project progresses.
Works through scheduling conflicts with Project Manager both with equipment and people utilizing both software and spoken communication.
Organizes equipment and materials for assigned projects
Determines the amount of material that will be used on the project based on the plan drawings (material take offs)
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Oversees job-site safety
Ensures timely completion of projects
Attends meetings as needed and directed by Project Manager
Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.

Working Environment:
90% of work is conducted at job site with exposure to moving traffic and exhaust fumes
Job site exposure to extreme weather including rain, sleet, snow, freezing temperatures, heat, dust, mud, noise and direct sunlight
10% amount of work is completed within an office environment with regulated temperatures
Physical Activities:
Driving to job sites, prolonged standing, crouching, and lifting up to 75 pounds
Prolonged sitting, typing, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 15 pounds

About the Position:
This is a 2nd shift position and is responsible to setup and operate saws to cut material to rough tolerances as required.
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, including operating forklift & overhead crane. This is a 2nd shift position with a start time of 4 p.m.

What You'll Do:
Load and unload machine with the aid of an overhead crane, positioning material as required. Remove scale from material manually when necessary.
Set up and operate saw selecting proper feeds and speeds. Change saw blades when necessary.
Maintain coolant flow, clean and replace coolant as required.
Set up, select tooling and operate test equipment as necessary.
Check identification on all material handled by stamping or marking with necessary numbers.
Place saw crop ends in scrap boxes according to grade.
Move material to next area of operation as required and attach proper color tag.
Complete required production reports and use computer terminal.
Deburr sawed edges with hand grinder.
Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
Report defective material and faulty equipment to the supervisor.
Observe all safety rules and regulations.
Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
What You'll Need:
A minimum of one year actual experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, including experience operating forklift and overhead crane.
A High School Diploma/GED.
The ability to manage a very physical job including heavy lifting and pulling.
A willingness to work 10 hour days, weekends and holidays
A clean criminal background investigation.
A clean urine screening, performed upon offer of employment.
